Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 125: Stage
Chapter 125: Stage
Neither of them stopped or slept this entire time.
They combined Arcane Crystals, creating a completely new item to revolutionize the market and increase their chances of winning this war.
Both of them were nimble and agile.
Their hands and brains worked with no strain, even though they had to perform high-level calculations with uninterrupted concentration.
But they did it.
Jung enjoyed this magical practice, especially when his loved one was near him.
Nira liked it too and was utterly absorbed in her task.
Thus, those two days passed in the blink of an eye without their notice.
They kept their separate bags, flexing the results of their hard work.
"Damn it!" Jung said, lowering his head but raising his lips. "I lost?"
There was no need for them to count.
Nira’s stack was visibly larger than his, indicating who won this challenge.
Now that the winner was identified, she looked at him smugly.
"It’s okay, my love. You will get better as time goes on. Do you want me to console you with a kiss?"
Her voice was witty and her face mischievous, frighteningly resembling Jung.
He chuckled at her sneer, loving her mean side with all his heart.
Jung couldn’t contain his excitement and kissed her, not regarding Snowshade, who visited them after those two days.
Coughing, the woman drew attention to herself, as she was afraid their passion would escalate even further.
"Good job!" she complimented. "What about the pills?"
"We were about to start," Nira said, shooing Jung away to challenge him the second time.
He understood her determined glare and nodded.
"Let’s start. This is my expertise," he announced confidently.
Another two days were spent merging pills.
Jung put some away for himself, as he still had to reach Tier XII.
As for the remaining pills, they would be used by the world’s chosen geniuses to create a couple more strong combatants.
It wasn’t only for others, as Jung was also getting better at handling persona.
This would increase his damage output and survivability, making him even more of an all-rounder.
His keeper archetype saw progress too, as his understanding of himself was augmented.
He used this time to think—something he barely did with his full attention.
It allowed him some consideration and insight mixed with happiness that he was getting everything he ever wanted.
Those past two days passed just as quickly.
Nira did her job quietly, smiling when they accidentally locked eyes or brushed their hands.
Jung was on the verge of losing his mind, fighting the urge to hug her and distract from their important work.
But his willpower stood strong.
He didn’t take a break and finished the whole stock in one go.
"Did I win?" he asked eagerly, glancing at Nira’s creations.
Jung’s speed was way higher than before, as his perception and strength control were off the charts.
However, none of them helped against the overwhelming opposition.
"Thank god she is my wife."
Sighing, Jung said aloud upon seeing his yet another loss.
"It’s so lonely being on top," Nira said. "I don’t enjoy hanging. You better catch up to me."
"Don’t worry. I am not destined to be a loser," Jung comforted her.
Then they left the room and the chambers, walking straight to Lilia’s office.
Snowshade was no longer with them, as her responsibilities didn’t allow her to spend time uselessly watching them.
So they had some alone time, reminiscing and talking to one another.
"What do you think about this world?" Nira asked. "Do you love it here?"
"It’s great. There is everything I have ever wanted, but most of all, you are here," he answered with no hesitation.
"What about Earth or any planet you have lived on?"
"I don’t care about them. I have no affection for any other planet, and even if I liked Earth the most, it was only because of you."
"My sweet boy," Nira said cheerfully.
Jung could reach Tier XII easily.
It was an important milestone for humans to reach, and it would augment his abilities more than ever.
So he downed them one after another.
Neither he nor Nira increased the grade of the pills, but as Jung merged 200 at a time, she was doing 500 pills like it was a walk in the park.
"Delicious!" he boomed, waiting for the system to announce his advancement.
[You reached Tier XII]
She said it in her usual tone.
[This is the last tier in this world. Congratulations! You are part of the greatest force. You need a keeper archetype if you want to advance even further. Good luck!]
"Finally," he said, basking in those new sensations.
Having more than one archetype aided his progress in a familiar manner.
’How strong can I physically get?’ he asked himself, pondering about the godhood, which was closer than he had ever thought.
But it still seemed so far away, as if reaching it would change him. freewebnσvel.cѳm
He got stronger, but it was pretty hard to gauge and judge as there was nothing but his feelings to depend on, and his every increase almost gaped at his substantial self.
Jung struggled to even grasp what was going on in his mind, but this advancement proved how big of a gap existed between him and Nira or any other god.
Still, it wouldn’t break his heart.
Even if Jung was lost, he was motivated and devoted—nothing could stop his grand adventures.
Nira was holding his hand securely when they reached Lilia’s office.
She didn’t bother to knock, storming inside with no regard.
Jung followed her, smiling on the side.
"Are you done?" the principal asked, lowering her brows.
Nodding, Nira took a seat beside her as Jung walked around the room, studying it with interest.
"What else do we need to do, my sweet and dear sister-in-law?" he asked.
Lilia stood up.
She strolled into her own office, scrutinizing the pair.
"I have to distribute them first," she said, eyeing Jung with a plotting stare. "But we need to show the world our Messiah, and he has to prove that he is a beacon of our hope."
"Sure. As my first advisor, what advice do you have for me?" he asked, nearing the woman.
The principal didn’t lose her composure.
"I have everything planned. As for your actions, it’s up to you. Do however you want and whatever you need to do. I trust you to do it."
Hearing her unexpected speech, Jung squinted his eyes.
"How did I deserve your trust?" he urged earnestly.
Lilia walked again, with her sister watching them from the sidelines with a devilish smile on her face.
After seeing her expression, the principal almost took back her still unsaid words, but closing her eyes, she said it anyway.
"It’s not because of you, but it’s because of her," she announced to Jung but meant Nira, who didn’t look surprised.
Her sister seemed like an all-knowing one, even with her frightening expression.
Not disappointed or hurt, Jung glanced at both of them, and understanding her words, he asked one last question.
"Where?"
It was a one-word question, but it easily conveyed his commitment.
"She knows," Lilia answered after reading her older sister.
"Yep," Nira agreed. "I know where we need to be."
"Then let’s go and bye-bye, sis!" Jung declared cheekily and left the room right away.
"See you soon," Nira said her goodbyes as well, running after her husband.
Lilia nodded lightly, waving her right hand to the duo.
"Wait for me."
Jung heard a sweet voice from behind, belonging to his wife.
Nira dashed at him with high speed, and based on her attitude, she had no intention of stopping, and funnily enough, she crashed into Jung, knocking him down.
"What the—" he blurted, scratching his head after hitting it against the hard metal of the wall.
Then he was forcefully hugged, darkening his vision until he blacked out.
Jung was left with no words to scream as he lost consciousness.
.
..
...
Abruptly lifting his body back up, Jung’s vision was assaulted by the glimmering glows.
"What the?" he asked again, feeling softness on his cheeks.
He was lying on Nira’s lap, apparently sleeping.
She was combing his hair, caressing his nose and lips with her hands.
It was peaceful and had a calm effect on him.
"Morning, sleepyhead," she said. "It’s time for you to wake up."
"Where are we?" he asked as his tranquil time was plagued by loud noises around him.
"See for yourself."
Jung explored the world around him, observing his completely new environment.
He was no longer in Arcane Academy, as he was no longer surrounded by its towering but old walls that almost told tales to everyone who peered at them.
There were no walls encircling him at all.
Both of them stood in the open, under the bright sky and shining sun that illuminated the scene before them.
There was no point in Jung asking what was going on.
If he had no context, he could guess his situation because of the thousands of people watching him.
There it was—an immense crowd waiting for the messiah’s speech.
