Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 62: Deep Shit
Chapter 62: Deep Shit
Jung, along with Nero, moved like the wind.
The wind killed goblins mercilessly as if expressing generational hatred towards them.
Of course, it wasn’t true.
It all came down to Jung dealing with their astronomical numbers in search of their leader.
His goal was to destroy the Scar, leave this place, possibly meet and slay Astra, and if everything went well, return to the academy.
So he dirtied his clothes even further.
The blood and misty stench that enveloped this place covered him, making breathing unbearable.
Luckily, Jung never had to stop in one place for more than a few moments.
His eyesight might have been almost perfect at only a five-meter radius, but his vision was improved overall, meaning he had an easier time noticing goblins or their houses.
"I can’t sense anything like the boss monster,"
Nero said, and sitting on Jung’s head, she added, "It would have been nice if someone could help us."
Nero scolding Vex was unusual.
Jung enjoyed every second of it and even encouraged her. "You are right. That’s not how friends should act."
However, things didn’t go the way he expected.
"Shut your damn mouth. You can’t talk shit about her." Nero spat at him angrily, not letting Jung rebuke the system.
Seeing how much hate he was getting, apparently for no reason, Jung smiled, shook his head, and sped up.
He fully embraced these friendly sparks between them and wasn’t dispirited because of it.
On the contrary, he quite enjoyed this easygoing relationship, as it was his first experience.
But not losing his targets, Jung climbed up to the wooden fence and then the building.
With a loyal axe in his hand, he smacked the roof with his newfound power, crashing it under his feet.
Gravitation worked in the same way as in Maskera, and he fell to the ground.
While this was happening, he saw stunned green monsters and Nero, who attacked them from different angles.
As Jung was diving to the ground, he fixed his position and swung his weapon around.
Then he dropped on the goblin, killing it instantly.
This was a stimulating experience.
A new fighting game filled with thrills.
The most important part was that Jung wasn’t alone. Nero’s presence made every battle ten times more rewarding.
And as soon as Jung slayed the first goblin, he began searching for more.
There was no lack of monsters to kill.
Arriving before the opponent, Jung caught his prey with his hand, pressing it forcefully into the ground and beheading it mercilessly.
Blood splattered onto his face, yet he was upon another one, hacking his axe for more.
Nero wasn’t slowing him down, either.
Her Duskveil skill created shadow pillars one after another and obliterated foes, doing it so effortlessly that she didn’t even lose too much persona.
While she was harmonious, Jung was still getting used to his evolution, leaving him with awkward yet swift movements. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com
He liked this new sensation.
Letting it dictate his fighting style, Jung cleared this building, leaving no goblins alive.
Devouring corpses brought him almost no progress, but he did it anyway.
Even though Jung was in a hurry, he wasn’t using the Keeping Mask, saving it for the last battle.
Still interested in its full potential in different archetypes, he was patient and only relied on White Beard Arc, which made his job easier.
After raiding house after house, the system reminded them. [Only an hour is left.]
Listening to her, Nero stomped her paws angrily. "How long do we need to search? This place sucks!"
"Can’t argue against that," Jung said calmly, and scratching his head, he added. "Let’s just keep going."
Nero glanced at him.
She probably cursed at him in her mind but agreed with no complaints.
Jung was motivated to meet the goblin chief.
They didn’t know where to find it, but he had a strong promotion as if suggesting the upcoming event.
Ten minutes later, his feelings were proved right.
The cat and the boy ran among 20+ goblins.
It wasn’t an average situation when they had to fish around to find monsters.
Instead, it was the other way around, as the goblins sought them out.
They came in waves.
Increased numbers each time while creating the drumrolls, preparing them for the awaited entrance.
The drums were getting louder, and more and more goblins came, yet the final monster never showed itself.
"Do we need to seek him out?" Jung asked as he bashed the two goblins’ heads together.
Still in a cheerful mood, Vex answered, not hiding her eagerness. [You are going to meet him. It seems like he wants a dramatic show.]
"Reminds me of someone," said Nero with no particular intention.
Sighing, Jung dashed around, dodging approaching creatures, hoping to catch the hidden foe.
Nero guessed and liked his scheme.
Quick with her actions, she made way for Jung.
"I am feeling something," Jung said, clutching his heart.
"Congratulations," Nero snorted sarcastically. "It means you aren’t dead yet."
Ignoring her words, Jung contemplated and sprinted in a clear direction in mind.
They were inside the Scar—the place that birthed new monsters on Maskera.
It was almost a divine space, with complicated structures, paths that led to who knew where, and the screaming feeling of being inside a living organism.
Jung’s measly knowledge wasn’t sufficient to uncover secrets about this world.
At least he knew he was gifted with never-seen potential.
So he trusted his guts, livers, lungs, and heart.
Evading goblins, sometimes getting minor scratches that were closed soon enough, he left the waves behind.
The more Jung ran, the more the heat in his body intensified. ’Is this because of the advancement? Or is it...’
He didn’t want to jump to conclusions, but the feeling he experienced was familiar.
It was the sensation he had since arriving in this world.
Not dwelling more and deciding to converse with her after leaving this place, Jung’s acceleration ended.
"Found you," Jung roared passionately, observing a towering figure before him.
It was a muddy-coloured goblin chief.
He held an enormous staff in his hand, and metallic armour covered his muscular body, showcasing his scars and strength.
Moving and watching Jung with a graceful, yet confident attitude, this Tier VII Ruler posed a serious threat.
If he wasn’t enough, there were hundreds of goblins before him.
Showing that his authority was followed by the greater numbers.
"Either we are in deep shit," Jung said, shuddering with anticipation. "Or we are eating well."
