Chapter 61: Shifting Cloud Evolution

[You don’t need to do much,] the system said. [Just jump right into it, and you’re good to go.]

Jung nodded.

He wasn’t in the mood to talk, so he only glanced at Nero and whispered, "Let’s go, buddy. She will explain as we explore."

Nearing the Scar, Jung said, striking the last approaching goblin in a horizontal slash.

Without hesitation, he touched the freezing colours and hopped inside.

"You won’t spend my pills, will you?" he asked the system and let the darkness envelop him.

The nothingness was similar to the abyss, but it only lasted for a second.

In its place, a new environment appeared, revealing to Jung an almost completely new dimension.

[No. It’s part of my features; no one but you can access this place until the world announces the Chosen One.] The system’s voice was back in her cheerful tone, making Jung forget the grudge he had in a split second.

"Now that I think about it, when is it going to happen? Did you find any clues?" Jung asked, hoping to find out if he had enough time.

However, the answer he got was better than what he expected.

[It won’t happen, at least not this week. You should have your chances before that,]

Vex said as she went silent to help Nero understand what she had missed.

As for Jung, he finally paid attention to his surroundings.

He was enclosed by a red, meaty wall all around him, creating almost labyrinth-like paths.

Dripping with blood and misty with stench, it appeared like a huge organism, and based on Jung’s observations, he was inside some creature.

"This isn’t the moon I was expecting," he said and walked around to find something noteworthy.

The moon everyone knew and saw was just a huge celestial object.

Even though it was pitch black and housed countless abominations that threatened Maskera, not much was known about it.

No researchers, sages, or other strong archetypes could discern anything about it.

Flight was almost exclusive to the highest-ranking individuals, and leaving the atmosphere was impossible even for them.

This had left the moon as the greatest mystery and danger for the last five centuries.

Meanwhile, Jung strolled inside this strange creature.

No monster, no goblins were in sight, but he knew they came into the real world from this place.

His persistent nature helped Jung once again.

He finally encountered a small goblin group and killed them on the spot. Then he devoured their corpses and glanced at his almost finished progress bar.

<Shifting Cloud Stage: 0/5

Progress: 99%

’Only one percent is left,’ Jung thought excitedly.

On top of that, his death counter went up quite a bit as well.

[Truth Lantern] Tier I

Progress: 79/1000

Jung quickly noticed something strange. ’The more goblins I kill, the less experience gets added to the Shifting Cloud.’

It was the expected outcome, and he didn’t get discouraged because of that.

Why would he, when a dozen kills later, he could promote the first stage?

Jung also collected rebel archetype pills, but they were too low-tier for him to stop.

He planned to consume them later in a more appropriate situation.

After he was done contemplating, Jung glanced at Nero, who had been walking behind him.

She was quiet this whole time, listening to the system.

Five minutes later, when Jung found a goblin hut to raid, the cat bounced on his shoulder and said,

"I am going to help you. You shouldn’t be the only one who is having a good time."

"Suit yourself," Jung answered, looming before the wooden house.

Nero’s assistance was appreciated, but both of them understood that Jung no longer demanded them as much.

His rise in power and tiers was faster than anyone alive, meaning Nero’s almost frozen state would soon fall behind.

They hadn’t talked about it, yet this duo had already decided to organize the greatest player genocide.

Not only Nero, but Jung would benefit from it as well.

Just as Jung approached the goblin hut, Nero mentally commanded,

"Let’s go in from two different directions."

Knowing that strategies were overkill, Jung agreed anyway.

He was daring enough to go from the front door, while Nero chose the roof.

Then they attacked simultaneously, spending less than 10 seconds to exterminate the whole house.

There was no sympathy in their hearts.

Defending their morals wasn’t important while protecting something far more valuable.

"This place is like a community, designated to make goblin warriors," Nero said as she studied her surroundings.

"You’re right. Scars are weird. I can’t say for sure if it’s a living being or something far more complex."

Jung answered before activating his devouring ability.

"But who cares? We need to clear it, kill as many monsters as we can, and leave this ass-smelly place," he added, waiting for the mist to join him.

One minute went by, and Jung exclaimed in satisfaction. "Finally!"

<Shifting Cloud Stage: 1/5

Progress: 0%

As soon as the stage number was changed, Jung was attacked by dizziness. He wanted to puke, and he lost against the urge.

His eyes were covered with tears, and snot drifted down his face.

It wasn’t because of the pain or him being weak.

Jung simply lost control of his body, and he fell to the ground.

No sound escaped his mouth, and before Nero even panicked, Vex said, [Don’t worry about him. He will be fine.]

Indeed, one full minute later, Jung collected himself. "I feel like I am reborn," he said, caressing Nero’s smooth fur.

His mutation capabilities skyrocketed, and his flexibility, dexterity, strength, stamina, and vitality saw unimaginable growth.

Almost every aspect of his physique was improved, and all the impurities left his body.

However, it wasn’t the main dish.

He experienced far more interesting phenomena, transforming his vision altogether. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Jung’s eyes were enhanced.

His eyesight could catch the slightest fluctuation in a five-meter radius, converting his vision into extraordinarily magical.

It felt like the world obeyed his commands.

Slowing down just to make everything clearer for him.

"It’s only one stage. The same thing is going to happen to other senses as well?" he asked himself, thrilled at what was to come.

[It’s great that you’re so happy with your improvement, but you have only two hours left, and you haven’t even found the goblin chief,] the system said as per usual.

"Shit," Jung blurted and dashed at a speed he had never reached before. "I am going to skin them alive."
