Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 65: True Mastermind
Chapter 65: True Mastermind
Jung wasn’t the only one who saw Gwen and Leora.
They had been searching for him with no good intent.
"Now that you guys found me, what will you do?" Jung asked, scanning the quest notification.
<Quest VI: Kill the traitor
<Rewards: Explorer Archetype
It wasn’t the end, though. There was one more mission for him waiting for completion.
<Quest VII: Don’t touch Leora
<Rewards: 50% progress in your archetype
Almost laughing his ass off, Jung barely contained himself. "What’s up with those quests?" he asked the system.
After their small brawl, they hardly conversed.
However, Jung always easily forgot grudges, even if he wouldn’t back down and give up his principles.
[Quests are quests,] Vex said, giggling. [Just do it, or die. The choice is yours,] she said softly, sounding like a sweet melody to Nero and Jung, who had experienced deafening noises on the battlefield only minutes ago.
"You aren’t cold at this point. You are the ultimate tsundere," Jung said in a childish tone, but knowing that there was no time to waste, he observed the onlookers.
Leora smirked as if the rat had walked into her trap.
"We finally found this brat. That creature—I recognize it," she said about Nero and added, "Do you remember my promise? See? You are going to regret it."
Her blabbering nature never disappeared.
"What happened to the tear here? Don’t tell me..." Gwen had another concern.
She asked about the Scar, guessing what he did.
Jung neither agreed nor disagreed.
He wanted to make the traitor heated, and based on her reaction, she had a vague understanding of the Scar.
"So that’s why we couldn’t find you." The supervisor continued. "Thankfully, we made adequate preparations."
Acting like he was terrified, Jung said in a wailing voice, "You... You are going to kill me?"
"Now you are scared?" Leora asked smugly.
She was in a wonderful mood, feeling like she was about to get rid of her biggest enemy.
Nero teased Jung telepathically. "Your acting isn’t half bad. But I am cringing. Please don’t do it anymore."
"Got it," Jung said to Nero and then addressed his enemies. "Scared? Nah, I’d win."
The look on their faces would be printed in Jung’s memory for years to come.
Not waiting for their counter, Jung moved and whispered for only Nero to hear. "Don’t let that kiddo slip away."
"Noted," Nero meowed in his mind and jumping from his shoulders, she arrived before Leora.
As for Jung, he openly confronted Gwen with no concern on his face.
Swinging two axes in his hands and clutching them tightly, he seemed to enjoy the situation.
"What are you doing?" Leora asked when she saw Nero approach her. "What is this ugly creature?"
Jung almost facepalmed himself but promised the cat he would get revenge for those words. "How dare you call her that?" he said, still immersed in acting.
Observing him closely, Gwen was confused by his carefree attitude. "Why are you still here?" she asked, not fathoming why the 13-year-old boy would act this way in her presence.
But this child didn’t care about her concerns.
Jung dashed again, this time in full force, stunning the supervisor completely.
His high speed was enough for him to finally reach the woman and slash at her.
She was baffled for a second, but remembering her task, she pulled out the pink ropes and chains and aimed at Jung, aiming to hold his hands.
Jung felt her intent and stirred magical particles around her.
With a weaving movement that included a sudden backward motion to bait the opponent, Jung feinted his strike in mid-attack.
Catching his opponent off guard, deceiving and forcing her into a wrong step, Jung’s wrists targeted the opponent’s weak points to disable her.
His precise, swift, and unexpected fighting capabilities helped him disarm the woman.
He had no questions to ask and no morals to check.
As soon as Jung created the opening, he beheaded the woman in a horizontal sweep.
All of this happened in seconds.
Just like that, the Tier VII supervisor who betrayed the academy, murdered one of the students, and tried to kill more, lost her life on the spot, dying to the children she was sent to hunt.
Based on Jung’s reflections, she worked for the god who threatened Jung.
However, he had one more premonition, suggesting he wasn’t the only target, and Gwen’s operation with the twins was another focal point.
"At least she is here, and I might get answers," Jung said, glancing first at Leora, who had fallen to the ground after Nero smacked her, then at the system notification congratulating him on the quest completion.
[You killed the traitor, someone who betrayed humanity.]
[Quest VI Completed.]
[You unleashed Explorer Archetype.]
[You aren’t getting the corresponding Arc.]
Even though Jung wasn’t rewarded, his body was honoured with even more vigour and strength.
It wasn’t the same feeling when his tier rank increased or Shifting Cloud evolved him completely.
Unleashing another archetype brought Jung a greater sense of wholeness.
As if he was completing himself.
It was comforting, not familiar, but still intimate.
However, Jung’s mind caught even more significant ideas.
Stirring his thoughts, he heard the hint Vex said behind her robotic voice when she was announcing something and didn’t directly talk.
She said that Gwen betrayed humanity, not the academy, and suddenly, everything clicked in his mind.
The mastermind behind the attack, a true traitor and the reason the twins worked with the supervisor.

Jung glanced at his latest quest, smiled, and shook his hand. "Fuck that!" he said, and arriving before Leora, who was hardly awake, he slapped her with his palm, almost putting her to sleep. ƒreewebɳovel.com
The girl couldn’t say anything.
Her hushed cries were silent, but hitting her didn’t feel good one bit.
Especially after the next system notification.
[You are a failure.]
[Quest VI Failed.]
[You lost your reward.]
Vex’s voice didn’t sound robotic. It was her conscious self speaking.
"Worth it for Nero," Jung said and added,
"But I am not good at face-slapping."
Having done that, he neared his face to Leora, laughing at her reddened cheeks and tearful eyes, he asked in a deep tone.
"It was Walt, right? He sent you guys here."
