Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 80: Leaving the Guild
Chapter 80: Leaving the Guild
With no other options, she disregarded them while the new waves of players arrived until Jung’s sudden scream startled her.
He didn’t scream out of fear or something dramatic.
After the last surge of players returned, and he had killed hundreds of them, the quest completion notification covered his view.
Slaying 10,000 players felt great, and he roared in excitement.
But before getting the chance to glance at the message, intense pain rushed to his brain.
It came in pulse-like attacks, each containing information about the pills.
He saw numbers and letters running around, jumping, and twitching.
His eye colours swapped places for a second and went back to normal.
The knowledge that never existed before flooded Jung’s mind, creating confusion and clarity at the same time.
There was deep-rooted hope in him that this insight would turn him into an alchemist.
Just imagining how he concocted potions and pills made him shiver, but unfortunately, there was no such thing in this world.
Even then, Jung didn’t give up, he concentrated on the data, summarizing what he had learned.
First of all, the truth about his advancement came to light.
It was bits of the wisdom Vex never shared with him, but according to his newfound awareness, the more archetypes he unleashed, the harder it would become to advance.
The pills lost close to 20% of their effects on every archetype he had, and it persisted in every tier.
So the more archetypes he added to his strength level, the harder it would make for him to progress, even with additional pill variations he could consume.
But at least there was something hopeful about the clues he caught.
With persona’s assistance, he could merge the same tier and archetype pills together, which would increase their potency and the progress he could get.
He understood the principles behind it and could do it in batches, leaving his pill-swallowing struggles to the past.
’Nero doesn’t need to know,’ he thought to himself, bringing concentration to the battle.
Clearly remembering how the cat made fun of him for eating too many pills, he decided to get his revenge by making her suffer.
With over 10,000 pills in his arsenal, it should be possible for Nero to be freed from her chains, but the road towards redemption wouldn’t be easy.
Everyone was bored with the combat.
Nero no longer enjoyed this dull skirmish.
Even Jung hated the idea of constant noob killing.
Yet he had a quest to fulfil, a promise to keep and force the players into submission.
Luckily, some items cured his boredom for a while.
[Goated Tier V Pill]
-Unique pills that work on every archetype and contain more energy and nutrients than average pills.
"Goated Pill?" he repeated, but let them rot in his inventory.
For every 1,000 deaths, he got one, and it didn’t sound too bad, even if its potency was still unchecked.
Then he killed his three pals as soon as they spawned, giving them more time to think about his offer.
The same thing happened for the next wave, but the numbers were visibly lower.
Jung had no problem with that matter and even asked Snowshade to slap some players if she wanted.
She wasn’t in the mood to toy around with weak enemies and politely refused.
Yet among the awaited players, only two came back.
The creator decided to not show up; as for the wizard and rebel, both of them were still present.
Their facial expressions showcased how much they suffered.
"My offer still stands," Jung repeated his statement.
The blue-shirted wizard player, named DiEBlue, fought against himself and asked the leader.
"RichChips, we have to contest for the spot so at least one of us can survive,"
Seeing how adamant the rebel guild leader was and how he didn’t like the tone he used, the wizard pushed again.
"I am going to attack, and it’s your choice how you would respond,"
The mighty guild leader of the Poker Guild winced under Jung’s weight.
His strength deteriorated, and he couldn’t even dream of escaping from Jung’s ass.
Everything happened quickly.
When the wizard took out the staff from his inventory and channelled spells to hit his former boss, the leader felt liberated from the weight, and he could move.
Standing on his feet, his eyes glimmering and hands trembling, there was no thought about attacking Jung.
He stood too close to the edge, and there was no turning back.
After dying so many times, the emptiness mixed with the helplessness he experienced transformed his thought process.
RichChips understood that losing his account because of pride wouldn’t bring his guild or glorified days back.
He had to survive and then seek revenge after getting stronger than ever.
As a player, he was blessed with a system and had perfect conditions to out-compete Jung in the long run.
So a fighting spirit ignited in his heart, bones, and muscles.
He rebelled against the struggle and dashed forward to slay the wizard who dared defy him.
Just as he waited for the man to attack, RichChips felt no resistance in his eyes, understanding how loyal he truly was.
From Jung’s point of view, it couldn’t be seen.
If Jung had normal perception.
He saw the fake battle and didn’t like it one bit.
Two minutes later, the clash ended, and the guild leader emerged victorious.
Even though Jung saw their show, he feigned ignorance and smiled widely. frёeweɓηovel.coɱ
"Good job. You did it. And now, as my promise, you can leave this place."
The smell of his teammate’s blood—one who didn’t betray him—assaulted his nose.
However, he was too drunk with victory and was quick to leave.
Jung’s friendly smile just as quickly was replaced by a devilish grin.
"I don’t remember telling him we wouldn’t kill him outside of this building,"
He said to his companions and passed a request to Nero.
"Go after him and execute him. We are leaving."
Nero meowed, hopped gracefully, and purred so happily that Jung felt it on his skin.
