Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 86: Reaching The Passage
Chapter 86: Reaching The Passage
"We came here to take you to the Arcane Chamber. Our objective is to see your results and decide how to cultivate your talents."
Snowshade said to him. Explaining that they were going to give him everything he demanded, and they knew better than he did what he needed.
"There is no need for you to act like the rascal you are. We know what we have to do, and you just have to do your job."
Her voice grew calm the more she spoke, especially after seeing how attentive Jung appeared.
It seemed like he was willing to cooperate, and he was serious for once.
However, her every effort was washed down the toilet when Jung opened his bloody damn mouth.
"That’s what I like to see. But..."
He took a deliberate pause, edging the woman and enjoying the tense silence.
"But you are only feeding me when I expected a feast. Now, let’s get our shit together, spoil me more, and push that boundary even further."
Every part of his demeanour was mocking.
His eyes laughed, his nose and mouth proudly raised, and his hands shook in disbelief.
Both of the women observed him down to the toes. The words he uttered were understood, but his ultimatum and personality still remained a huge headache.
"What more do you want? Pills?" Lilia asked, playing with her hair, waiting for something outrageous.
Jung covered his chest with his hands and said, "Pills? Yeah, I want them. You should already know that I have no bottleneck and can easily soar my progress with just them."
He took another pause as if thinking of what more he could extort from them.
"But pills won’t be enough. I want Arcane Crystals as well, and the best armour and items don’t sound too bad."
His requirements were understandable, but the way he talked was so annoying that listeners, including Nero, wanted to beat him up.
"We can work with that..." Lilia said and went on some boring stuff; Jung barely listened.
But then he heard a voice ringing in his head, giving him advice.
[Ask for Veil Stones as well!] the system said promptly.
"What’s that?" Jung whispered. freewёbnoνel.com
It was his first hearing about the Veil Stones.
His grumpy cat had never mentioned it, Vex had never explained, and not even his studies covered this topic.
For him to not know anything about this subject was unforgivable, and his interest was piqued.
[Just do it. It’s for your own good.]
She didn’t comment more than that, leaving irritated Jung inside the well.
"You better not be playing tricks on me," he replied in his usual hateful tone.
"Ooh, I almost forgot; I want Veil Stones as well."
Then he observed their reactions to gauge information out of them.
They were taken aback after hearing his sudden request.
Was it because the item was rare and somewhat unknown, or because his desire to get it was quite unexpected?
"What do you need it for?" Snowshade asked. "I don’t see how it’s connected to your growth."
’Funny you mention it. I have no idea,’ he thought to himself, changing his gaze to the scenery.
"It’s part of my experiments I am doing, and every help is deeply appreciated, so you guys better not be greedy and shower me with your love."
On the surface, he was a teenager. Lilia thoroughly studied his background and knew his identity.
Yet he didn’t act his age, and the confidence he displayed wasn’t something that the average child could replicate.
The way he held himself and conversed with others asked for respect.
Sometimes, one could even see him as an equal because of the way he talked.
Truthfully, it was understandable.
For someone who was selected as the world’s saviour, it was the least quality to have.
"It’s too early for us to talk about that," Lilia spat, turning around. "We have yet to see your actual capabilities."
Jung corrected her words right away.
"Not ’we’ but you. She knows what I can do," he said, pointing to Snowshade. "I just have to convince you."
The women exchanged glances.
His attitude did not surprise them.
"We will see," the principal said softly and left the conversation, leading Jung to the prepared chamber.
However, Jung didn’t want to let his fish off the hook.
"I want pills from every archetype. From high to low tiers, everything you can get, but don’t be afraid to empty your pockets. Remember, it’s for the greater cause."
He wandered next to her, whispering like a devil who was trying to strike a deal.
Unfortunately, this mature woman knew how to ignore his unending chatter.
With no other option, he changed his target and attacked Snowshade, who was walking silently beside them.
Her being the ruler archetype was still in his mind, but he didn’t plan on exposing her anytime soon.
She was a wonderful mentor and easily guidable, meaning Jung enjoyed her company.
Five minutes later, they were back inside the academy and walked through floors to reach special, secluded areas.
Jung didn’t know how long it would take, but he had promised Nero that he would hurry and continue helping her.
Before that, he had to explain what this famous and sought-after Arcane Chamber had to offer.
According to the rumours and the information that was passed down by his parents, this room creates shadows.
They were internal manifestations, formed from the consciousness, the subconscious, and the unconscious.
Actually seeing it was like meeting one’s own true form, and it helped individuals gain insight into their archetypes.
It was one of the most beneficial and essential attractions that Arcane Academy offered.
Jung could meet his inner self and reflect upon it, which would assist him in understanding what the keeper was and who he himself truly was.
He barely cared about the philosophical nature of his life, but knowing that it could arm him with more power, he was tempted to try it.
[I want to see your meeting with your ugly and absurd self,] Vex teased him as he reached Stony Passage.
