Reincarnated With the World Domination System-Chapter 15: Video
Chapter 15 - Video
It was now evening.
Rael created five more plates, and his roommates helped him carry those parts to their base and hide them beneath scraps.
Some other orphans caught wind of Rael's plan and joined him, promising not to tell anyone about it.
Even Anne teamed up with Rael and did her best to help, but Rael didn't have the heart to watch her labor.
He asked her to scout the area instead, which required climbing broken machines.
Anne gladly took on the job and ventured off to stand guard.
Everyone later returned to the orphanage.
After a good meal and a shower, they all settled into their beds.
Those who had Project Watches, like Ali, watched movies, while those without them went to sleep early.
From the top of his bunk, Rael peeked outside and caught sight of Ali's bunk.
Ali owned the bottom bunk and draped sheets around it whenever he watched movies.

He hated people watching him while he was immersed in a film, though he didn't mind it when he browsed the internet or social media.
It's the best time to talk with Ali.
Rael crept down from his bed and quietly approached Ali's side, poking at the sheet.
A moment later, Ali peered out at him in surprise, then beckoned him inside.
There was enough space for both of them to sit cross-legged.
Ali's projected screen hovered in front of them, as though they might watch a movie together.
"Want to watch a movie with me?" Ali asked.
"Not right now," Rael said. "I want to ask you about the military. Sister Sophia invited me to join."
Ali's eyes went wide at the mention of Sister Sophia.
He had never imagined she would encourage anyone to join the military.
"But Sister Sophia is always saddest when someone leaves for the military," Ali said.
"I know," Rael replied. "But I used my ability to protect Anne from some normies, and afterward, Sister Sophia called me in and told me I could enlist. I don't want to, and I don't get why she wants me to."
He kept quiet about the bigger picture, not wanting Ali to see Sister Sophia in a darker light.
"Sister Sophia must be the one who convinces others to join," Rael said.
Ali's face turned the same worried expression he'd worn earlier, only now he seemed frightened.
Seeing his friend like that hurt Rael deeply.
He knew Ali had gone through a lot, especially as an orphan who had lost more than just a home.
"But you don't want to go, Ali," Rael said. "You're different. She wouldn't talk you into it, so you can help the rest of us. Just tell me what you know."
Rael's concern spilled out in every word.
Ali realized Rael genuinely wanted to protect everyone.
He even started making a guardian, so Ali decided to show him something.
Turning to the floating screen, Ali projected a keyboard and typed until a hidden folder opened.
He clicked on a video, and Rael focused on it.
The footage showed eighteen-year-old recruits in their first physical exam.
They had to run an obstacle course filled with swamps, tunnels, climbing walls, and projections of humanoids and beasts that tried to knock them off track.
But none of that was the worst part.
The real horror was how the slower runners at the back were treated.
"You piece of shit can't even run straight?!" someone shouted. "You'll be the first to die if we get invaded, a fucking meat shield for the rest of us!"
"Get up and lick my boots, or I'll break your legs! You'll fail this exam and end up cleaning our bathroom!"
Older students at the military school terrorized the weaker newcomers forced to attend by law.
They shoved the rookies' heads into the swamp and kicked them back to the start.
Some of them were treated worse than slaves.
Teachers ignored it, and the older students who weren't bullies did nothing.
The weak could only endure.
"I found this by accident on social media," Ali said, his voice shaky. "I think it's deleted now. I was just trying to learn about military exams, and then..."
He trailed off, unable to finish.
Plenty of videos showcased the military's better sides, but this one exposed a stark, brutal truth not everyone saw.
Rael stared at the screen like a hawk, taking in every detail of the abuse.
He burned the image of those mistreated recruits into his heart.
In that instant, he made up his mind to enter the military someday and uproot anyone who saw the weak as disposable shields.
He had the power and potential to do it.
"Thank you, Ali," Rael said.
"No problem," Ali replied, still worried. "But... you look different, Rael. Like you really want to go there."
Rael nodded.
"I'm gonna go there and teach those bastards some humility," he said.
"Wow."
