Chapter 1457: Using Upper Realm Ores!

"You heard the lady," Lara stepped forward, her voice ringing with authority as she backed Ellina’s play. "Let’s gather our finest and get them to the inner zone at once. We don’t have a second to waste."

Lara then turned back to Ellina, her expression turning thoughtful and perhaps a bit daring. "William gave me strict instructions to provide you with any materials you require, regardless of the cost. With that in mind, have you considered using materials that don’t originate from this world?"

"What do you mean?" Ellina asked, startled by the sudden offer.

Lara didn’t offer a verbal explanation. Instead, she began producing a staggering array of shimmering, iridescent ores. The very feat William had deemed premature was being executed perfectly and timelessly by his friends.

Lara laid out the minerals she had meticulously gathered from the underground city over the years—spoils won from the deadly battle against the Upper Realm master army that had descended upon her city under Lingerie’s command.

She began to explain the origin of the materials in broad strokes. "I frankly don’t know exactly what these ores are," Lara admitted, "but I’m certain we’ll find similarities between our world’s resources and many of these. I’ve seen William take several of these and use them to craft items based on our world’s methods. So, why don’t we try to do the same?"

Ellina was, to put it mildly, immensely shocked. She stared at the pile, her mind racing through forging equations. "This is... incredible. But how much ore do you actually have? Is there truly enough to mass-produce these spears?"

"Even if there isn’t enough in that pile," Anjie said, stepping forward while withdrawing even more ore from her storage. Having inherited the fallen kingdom’s wealth and riches, her personal treasury included a vast number of Upper Realm materials that her lost mentor had originally gathered for her father.

"Let’s take every piece of ore we have. Let Ellina inspect and examine them all, then pick whatever suits the construction of those spears!" 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎

Anjie and Lara held the largest quantities of Upper Realm materials among William’s circle, but they weren’t the only ones with spoils. The other girls and faction leaders had also gathered their own loot from the previous, grueling battles.

Following Anjie’s lead, they began to pour out their collections. The piles grew exponentially until the shimmering minerals filled an area the size of an entire football field, and they were still pouring.

Ellina wasn’t the only one stunned by the sight; even William’s friends looked on in disbelief. Individually, they thought they had gathered only modest amounts of material. Together, however, the stockpile was monumental. It looked as if they had more than enough to forge an entire arsenal.

"Now, your task is to determine which of these ores can replace the ones from our world," Lara said, standing firmly by Ellina’s side. She paused before adding with a sharp glint in her eye, "Then, we’ll send a team to William to milk similar ores from him. So... get started!"

Lara didn’t realize that as she uttered those last words, a mischievous, almost wicked expression crossed her face. It was a look that made all of William’s girls chuckle despite the gravity of their situation.

This was perhaps the first time in their lives with William that they were actively planning to frame and extort him for resources. For some reason, the prospect was deeply satisfying.

Ellina, focused purely on the task at hand, didn’t quite grasp the humor the others found in the situation. She immediately began to inspect and examine the vast variety of ores spread before her.

The sheer volume was overwhelming, yet she understood the gravity of the opportunity. She approached the matter with absolute seriousness.

"Arrange the similar ores together!" she commanded, calling out to the masters from the Academy’s Forging Department—those whose judgment and experience she trusted implicitly. "Categorize them by weight and luster. Leave the actual testing to me."

Testing the ores one by one through traditional means was impossible given the timeframe. The primary method to test any ore was to attempt to melt it down, a process that usually took a significant amount of time.

As she began the preliminary tests on dozens of different samples, she left the logistics of the field to her trusted masters to ensure everything remained organized.

Ellina knew the specific features and primary attributes of every ore used in standard forging. Her challenge now was to identify the subtle similarities and jarring differences between these exotic materials from the outer world and the minerals she knew by heart.

It sounded like a simple task of substitution, yet she was constantly met with unique elemental properties and unexpected reactions that made the work grueling.

It took nearly an hour of intense concentration to finish inspecting the first hundred ores. Out of that batch, she eventually isolated five distinct types as the most suitable replacements for the components of the flying spears.

"Gather these five ores into a separate stockpile," she ordered, wiping sweat from her brow. "These will be our primary materials. We’ll use them for the first round of forging."

Despite her progress, Ellina was not even halfway through the mountain of ores presented to her. Hundreds of different minerals still awaited her assessment, their jagged edges catching the light in a kaleidoscope of colors.

However, as she worked, she encountered a significant hurdle: several types of ore proved impossible for her to assess. No matter how much heat she applied or how many bellows the masters pumped, these stubborn materials refused to melt.

Had William been present, he would have instantly diagnosed the problem. These specific ores required specialized concentrations and qualities of spirit power to break down.

To melt them, they would need to be transported deep into the underground city or to a location where the spirit power had been upgraded and condensed by the effects of the spirit bombs.

Fortunately, aside from these rare and resilient cases, the other ores proved more cooperative.
