Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1478: A Rallying Cry for the Fox Guild!
"Lead the way then." She threw a meaningful glance at Fang—one that clearly signalled the decision rested solely on his veteran shoulders.
"Lina, listen..." Fang sighed heavily. He had lived a long life, and what he hated most was having to douse the blazing fire of youth with the cold water of reality.
"This task... It isn’t a game. It isn’t some easy skirmish. The monsters we are going to face, the sheer scale of the entire task, the sheer number of those bears... Everything is on a level you haven’t seen..."
"It is on a scary scale that has never been seen before, I know," Lina responded calmly, receiving his warnings without so much as a flinch. "But the more you speak about the impossibility of the scale, the more you prove that you’ll need me. And you’ll need the others."
"Others?" Fang’s brow furrowed.
Just as he was about to extend his spirit sense to check the perimeter, his eyes caught movement in the shadows of the nearby area. He saw them then: Anjie, Lara, and several other faction leaders.
They were walking in organised groups, flanked by the strongest, most battle-hardened masters currently stationed in the city, with more coming from the distant portals from different battlefields.
"If you two intend to take control of those gates, enter that world, and provide him the backup he needs, then you’re going to need a rear guard," Anjie said, her voice steady and commanding.
It was clear from her posture that this wasn’t a request; it was an executive decision agreed upon by the guild’s core. "You need us to pave the road, to hold the line, and to keep the tide of monsters away from those gates until you finish what he’s asked of you."
"We aren’t in a favourable situation," Lara added, stepping into the light of the forge. Her face was weary, but her eyes were bright with a desperate kind of hope.
"But if what William is aiming for will truly end this war and tilt the tables in our favour, then we have no choice but to trust him—as we always have. We will help him with everything we’ve got left."
Fang stood frozen, stunned by the sudden mobilisation. He watched as the leaders of the Fox Guild’s most powerful factions converged on his position, and many more were coming from different locations in the world.
"Not to mention you aren’t the only one who received monsters from him for protection," Anjie said, effectively ending the debate before Fang could muster a counter-argument.
"I’ve already decided. I’ll leave half of my monster guards at my designated spot, and Lara will do the same. Ro has already been informed; she is preparing things on her end as we speak. We are moving as a unified front."
Fang remained silent, his mouth slightly agape. He looked at the faces of these cubs and realised they had outgrown their dens. Becky approached him, a wide, appreciative smile spreading across her face.
"The world always belongs to the next generation, Fang," she said softly, patting his shoulder. "Let them come. It’s their world being invaded, it’s their guild master in the fray, and it’s their friend at risk. They have every right to stand by us."
"Fine," Fang finally exhaled, the tension leaving his spirit as Becky’s words sank in. He looked at Lina, Anjie, and Lara, seeing the same fierce light in their eyes that he had seen in William’s.
"It all started with that boy, and it seems he’s managed to pass the torch to a pack of even younger monsters. Who am I to stop them from taking this step and growing stronger? Let’s go!"
Anjie and Lara took the lead, their capes snapping in the wind as they began the march toward the portals. The others followed in disciplined lines, leaving Lina to walk at the rear of the group.
Unbeknownst to Fang and Becky, Lina was the true architect of this rallying cry. The moment she had overheard the mission details using her spirit sense, she had relayed the information to Anjie and Lara via telepathy.
She knew that the second the other girls learned of the danger William was in—and the audacity of his plan—they wouldn’t hesitate to mobilise every resource at their disposal.
She had gambled on Lara’s strategic intelligence, Anjie’s decisive nature, and above all, the deep, unspoken bond they all shared with William. Watching the massive assembly of masters move toward the Scorching Lands town, she felt a small, rare spark of contentment.
’At least I can aid you with the little power I have,’ she thought, her eyes fixed on the horizon. She pushed her personal feelings aside, her mind already shifting to the tactical layout of the grand battlefield in the entire world.
The mobilisation was a sight that inspired both awe and a cold, creeping dread in Lina’s heart. Even though Anjie and Lara had specifically called for only the elite of the elite from every faction to assemble, and even if their total number didn’t exceed ten thousand, Lina knew exactly what she was looking at.
This was the absolute core strength of the Fox Guild and its allied forces. Gathering such a concentrated force in one location might look formidable on paper, but Lina saw the grave vulnerability.
If the mission on the other side of the gates took longer than expected, or if they were pinned down in a foreign realm, the rest of the continent would be left hollow, terribly undefended.
Their enemies—both the monsters and the opportunistic dark masters waiting in the shadows—could easily take advantage of this absence to launch a devastating counterattack, one which the rest of their forces, with their mediocre strength, wouldn’t stand a chance against.
She worried about this point incessantly as they marched. Her mind raced, trying to formulate a contingency plan that could relieve the pressure if a crisis landed or at least lower the scale of damage if the worst should happen.
