Reincarnation Of The Strongest Spirit Master-Chapter 1494: Lina’s Suggestion
Fang wanted to believe in a miracle—he desperately wanted to believe William had somehow silenced the source of this disaster as he promised—but logic screamed otherwise.
He tried to imagine a technique, a weapon, or a strategy that a single youngster could use to kill every bear on the other side of these thousands of gates, and he failed. It was a mathematical impossibility.
"Go back," Fang said suddenly, his voice sharp with command. "Check with the other battlegrounds immediately. We need to know if this is an isolated incident or a global phenomenon!"
His cautious orders were being echoed simultaneously by Becky at her side. As for Anjie, Lara, and Ro, they had reached the same conclusion. They halted their advance toward the gates and decided to return to the Scorching Lands town to consolidate their intelligence. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
They had been mere steps away from plunging through the portals to reinforce William, but this sudden, eerie change made them suspicious. In a war defined by the trickery of Scarlet Bears monsters, the last thing they wanted was to walk into a trap.
If the silence was a lure to draw the guild's core out of their defensive positions, they would only be making things worse for William. Before taking a single step into the unknown, they needed to confirm if this was a localised anomaly or a worldwide miracle caused by their guild master.
The meeting hall in the Scorching Lands was thick with an air of disbelief.
"So it's a thing that happened at your spots as well?!" Berry exclaimed, her eyes wide as she looked at the reports coming in from the northern and southern fronts. Seeing the others return with the same news of silent gates was both a relief and a shock. "It has to be William's doing! He's actually done it!"
"I thought the same the moment the last bear fell," Anjie nodded, her fists clenched in a mix of excitement and anxiety. The other girls all murmured their agreement.
"Whatever he is doing back there, it's working. The supply line of the monsters is severed. This is our window. It's time for us to move to his side, enter the Medium World, and end this once and for all!"
"I say we should prioritise our world first," Lina said suddenly.
Her voice was quiet but firm, cutting through the fervour of the group like a cold blade. Every head in the room turned toward her. Lina, usually the most supportive of William's direct needs, was standing with her arms crossed, looking at the updated world map.
"The world has been under heavy pressure for more than a week," Lina continued, meeting their gazes calmly. "Many humans are already dead. We've lost hundreds of thousands of spirit masters across the continents."
"We all know that, Lina," Lara said, giving her a deep, searching look. She felt a flicker of irritation. Why would Lina refuse to go to William's side now, when he was most likely exhausted from the miracle he'd performed? "But he's alone there. We need to go and help him hold whatever ground he's taken."
"If he wanted our help right now, don't you think he would have come back through the gate and asked for it himself?" Lina interrupted, her tone sharpening. "He knows where we are. He knows we are ready.
If he hasn't called for us, it's because he is busy, or he wants us to handle things here. We will eventually go to him, but first, we need to take this rare moment of peace he has provided and help those in need. We need to organise our forces better while the rain has stopped."
Lina stepped toward the map, pointing to the red zones where millions had perished. She could feel the doubt and uncertainty in the eyes of her friends, so she pressed forward, pouring her conviction into her words.
"No one can tell for how long this situation will last," Lina argued. "It could be for a few more hours, a day, maybe a few days. But we all know this respite won't last forever. The enemy will react. We should prioritise using this rare window to go all over the world.
We must build more portals to places we couldn't link to before. We need to look for survivors in the ruins, mass-produce the spears on a wider scale, and share the extras with every independent clan.
We need to repair the damaged walls, fortify the defensive buildings, lay down massive formations, and produce oceans of potions and elixirs."
She paused, taking a breath. "We have tons of work to do. If we do this now, when the tide comes back—and it will come back—the entire world will be standing stronger.
We won't just be surviving; we'll be prepared to strike. It's exactly how William would do it. He didn't just want to save himself; he wanted to save the world. We all know it!"
Her words landed with the weight of a blow. The hall fell into a deep, heavy silence. Every woman in the room, from Anjie to Ro, knew that Lina was right. William's philosophy had always been one of strategic preparation and the preservation of the many.
Yet, the emotional pull to be by his side was a powerful, conflicting force. They stood there, caught between their loyalty to the man and their duty to the world he was fighting for.
"Wow!"
A new, clear voice echoed from a distance, breaking the silence. A group of strangers stood there, led by a young, refined woman.
"I just heard the most amazing speech about a legendary figure," the girl said, her eyes sparking with curiosity as she looked at the high-ranking masters of the Fox Guild.
Behind her stood several formidable masters, their gear bearing the black-silver dragon of the Blue Purgators. "Is he the same William who is currently fighting in the other realm? Are you his force? The masters of the Fox Guild?!"
