REINCARNATION OF THE STRONGEST WAR HERO-Chapter 119: BEFORE THE DEPARTURE
Chapter 119: BEFORE THE DEPARTURE
"Why would anyone mind, brother! We did some light training, but still sweated a bit. Logan will also be leaving after lunch today. So first we can freshen up and then have lunch together," Rowan said with a courtesy smile.
"Oh, okay. Sure," Elias agreed without hesitation.
After that, Rowan, Daliah, and Logan all headed toward their respective rooms. Rowan and Daliah had already decided to take a quick shower, so they went their separate ways.
Logan thought for a moment—"It’ll take some time to reach the Smith estate anyway. Might as well take a quick shower too."
Within the next hour, all of them had freshened up, changed into clean clothes, and gathered in the dining hall—ready for lunch.
Elias soon joined them at the table as well.
A wide variety of dishes were neatly arranged across the table, each one more tempting than the last.
Since Logan was leaving today, Rowan had already instructed the cooks in advance to prepare something special—to give their very best.
They served Roasted Mushroom-Crusted Chicken with garlic butter glaze, Stuffed Duck Breast with wild mushrooms and sage, Butter Poached Lobster Tails with saffron cream, and freshly baked Seeded Multigrain Loaf.
Logan started with the stuffed duck breast, savoring the rich, earthy flavor of wild mushrooms.
Rowan and Elias both went for the lobster tails, enjoying the delicate meat and the fragrant saffron cream that lingered on the tongue.
Daliah eagerly reached for the mushroom-crusted chicken, her eyes lighting up as the buttery glaze melted over the golden crust. She took a bite and let out a quiet hum of delight—it was soft, juicy, and packed with flavor.
While they were eating, Elias suddenly asked,
"So Logan, what’s your plan after leaving here? Back to training within the Smith family villa only like before?"
"Yes, Your Highness," Logan replied politely. "I’m only twelve, so for now, that’s the plan. But... I plan on becoming a hunter soon, I want to explore the dungeons."
"Oh? A hunter?" Elias raised an eyebrow with mild surprise.
"It’s rare to see nobles pursuing that path. Even among high-tier mages, not everyone is cut out for real combat. In dungeons, it’s not just about power—you need sharp instincts and the ability to make split-second decisions."
He paused, then added with a hint of concern,
"And lately, dungeon raids are becoming harder and more dangerous with each passing day."
"Yes. But I want to grow stronger," Logan answered calmly. "And dungeons... they’re some of the best places to do that."
Elias was about to say something in response when a servant approached and whispered something into his ear.
"Ah, sorry for leaving so suddenly," Elias said, standing up mid-meal. "Something urgent just came up. You all go ahead and continue."
With that, he excused himself and walked off with the servant.
Once Elias had left, Rowan finally leaned in and asked,
"So... are you planning to become a hunter right after leaving here?" He knew exactly what Logan was planning.
"Yes. As soon as possible," Logan replied without hesitation.
And as he spoke, his mind began to drift—memories and thoughts flooding in all at once. He remembered the faint spiritual energy he sensed from the orc’s corpse.
While he was still lost in his thoughts, Daliah’s voice snapped him out of it.
"What?! A hunter? Already?" she asked, eyes wide with disbelief.
"Yes. But even if I become a hunter, I’ll only join the lowest-level dungeon raids for now," Logan said reassuringly. "So there shouldn’t be too much danger. And I won’t be going alone either—I’ll be in a group, so it should be fine."
Daliah turned to Rowan and said excitedly,
"Then I want to join a dungeon raid too! With Logan!"
Rowan had just taken a sip of his drink, but the moment he heard that, he spit it out completely.
He stared at Daliah, eyes wide.
"Are you out of your mind? You haven’t even properly reached Tier 1 yet! If you go, the other hunters will have to focus more on protecting you than fighting."
"Hmph!" Daliah pouted, folding her arms.
Logan chuckled.
"Well, if you train hard and get stronger soon, no one will be able to stop you."
Hearing that, a spark lit up in Daliah’s eyes. She slammed her fist playfully against her arm and said with determination,
"Yes! I’ll train like crazy, become a full-fledged hunter, and beat Rowan to the punch before going for dungeon raids!"
She swiped a finger under her nose with a proud smirk.
Rowan and Logan couldn’t help but laugh.
Rowan, too, quietly thought about joining Logan on a dungeon raid someday.
He understood why Logan was so eager to go—and deep down, he wanted to uncover that answer for himself as well.
But his own hands were already full. Two foreign spies were still in the cellar, Daliah was still too young, and with everything going on, it would take at least a few more years before he could even consider it.
Amidst the laughter and teasing, their lunch slowly came to an end.
After finishing, the group strolled leisurely out through the palace gates.
A carriage was waiting just outside.
It wasn’t as extravagant as Rowan’s usual, gold-trimmed, over-the-top ride—but it was still... a bit too much.
And just the thought of riding in something like that made Logan feel slightly awkward.
The coachman stepped down and opened the door with a respectful nod. The horses let out a soft snort, their polished harnesses glinting in the sun. freēnovelkiss.com
Logan stood near the carriage, glancing back at the two figures who had accompanied him this far.
Daliah’s arms were crossed, but her eyes shimmered.
"You better be safe when you go inside dungeons," she said, trying to sound tough.
Logan smiled faintly. "Of course I will. I don’t plan on dying so soon."
Rowan chuckled. "You better hold onto that. Don’t die before I defeat you in a sparring session next time."
Rowan stepped forward extending a hand.
"Don’t rush things alone. And if anything feels wrong—walk away. Even dungeons can wait."
Logan took the hand firmly, nodding. "I’ll keep that in mind."
