Tsuchimikado Motoharu is smart enough to know this before developing superpowers, yet he still chose to do so. This is his pledge, situating himself between science and magic. Eventually, he becomes a central point for intelligence between both sides, neither taking action against him, nor trusting him entirely, which is far wiser than being a one-way spy.

To obtain information from him, one must act swiftly, so swift the Science Side’s major figures cannot respond, or directly join the Science Side. Regarding the Magic Side, Su Xiao never considered joining – its forces are too chaotic.
