Relentless Pursuit After Divorce-Chapter 1959: Summer Hall Side Story (161)
And Helen would definitely listen to Harry Hall.
In Helen’s eyes, her big brother probably isn’t even as good as Elly Campbell, her best friend.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have helped Elly swindle him out of his money.
Thinking about this, he was reminded of Elly calling Johnson Fefferman, and he couldn’t help but feel a severe headache.
Raising a hand to press his temple, he said in a deep voice:
"In any case, leave this matter to me, and don’t interfere."
Leo Hall shrugged, looking indifferent, and it was unclear if he really listened to his words.
"Alright, I’ve finished my business, I’m leaving now."
After Leo Hall left, Edward Smith’s face suddenly turned cold.
Returning to the Smith Family, Mr. and Mrs. Smith were bathing the Samoyed.
Edward walked over and asked:
"Has Thomas Smith come back yet?"
His deep voice, mixed with barely suppressed anger, made Charles and Evelyn Taylor’s hearts sink.
The couple exchanged a glance and looked at Edward. Evelyn asked:
"What has that bastard done again?"
Edward hadn’t told his parents about the drug situation before, as there was no evidence yet, and he didn’t want them to feel disappointed in his brother.
But now, Edward didn’t plan to hide it from them.
He handed them the document that Leo had given him, saying:
"The poison in Helen’s body was administered by Thomas Smith."
Hearing this, Charles and Evelyn’s faces changed abruptly. They immediately opened the document and quickly rifled through it.
Besides the analysis of the drug materials, there was also a copy signed in Thomas’s own hand.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith were no fools; they could see the connections within it.
Evelyn’s expression grew darker with anger, disappointment, and shock flooding her eyes. By the end, she was trembling with rage.
"That brute, that brute... How could he do this to his own sister, how could he..."
Charles’s reaction, though not as extreme as Evelyn’s, was also grim, with tightly furrowed brows.
But he still maintained some rationality, finding a critical clue within the document.
He reached out to hold Evelyn’s shoulder, silently patted, comforted her a bit, then looked at Edward, asking:
"Harry told us that the poison in Helen was administered while she was unconscious. At that time, did Thomas and Helen have any interaction?"
For two people who had no interaction, why would Thomas poison Helen?
After all, he is their son. Though disappointed in Thomas, Charles still tried to find a reason to defend him.
"There was no reason for Thomas to deal with Helen back then."
Even now, no matter how hostile he is towards Helen, she is still his sister. He wouldn’t go so far as to be so deranged.
But as soon as Charles said this, he was stunned.
He thought of a very large possibility.
His gaze suddenly turned to Edward. Both father and son thought of the same possibility.
Even Evelyn, in her fury, upon hearing Charles’s words, thought of the most likely scenario.
"Because of Olivia Smith."
Evelyn uttered this name, rage burning in her eyes.
"That bastard, is he really going to hurt his own sister for Olivia? That bastard... how did I give birth to such a brute!"
Evelyn shook with anger, her breathing becoming rapid.
Charles’s expression shifted slightly, and he hurriedly patted her back, soothing her:
"It may not be what we think. Calm down first. When Thomas returns, we’ll ask him."
