Relentless Pursuit After Divorce-Chapter 1960: Summer Hall Side Story (162)
Evelyn Taylor took a deep breath, but her emotions couldn’t completely calm down.
Because she accidentally had the wrong daughter, she owed Helen for thirty years. But now, if Helen was almost left disabled because of Thomas Smith, how could she face Helen in the future?
Does she still have the face to let her recognize her as her mother?
As a daughter of the Smith Family, she didn’t get any benefits but was nearly harmed to never walk again.
Whenever Evelyn thought about it, her heart ached terribly, and tears of self-reproach began to fall.
"Mom, calm down for now. This matter may not necessarily be Thomas’s doing..."
Harry paused and then said:
"I mean, although the medicine came from Thomas, the person who poisoned Helen might have nothing to do with him. He probably didn’t know about it either."
Charles Smith also consoled her, saying:
"Think about it, if Thomas really intended to use such medicine to harm Helen, he wouldn’t be foolish enough to openly take pharmaceutical materials from the Smith Family’s herb store. You know, signing those names is leaving evidence against himself. Thomas wouldn’t be so stupid."
Evelyn was indeed calmed down a lot after being consoled by her husband and son.
But she still hadn’t completely relaxed, "Even if Helen wasn’t poisoned by him, the medicine came from his hand, he must be related to this matter, I don’t believe he knew nothing."
The expression on Evelyn’s face was terrifyingly cold.
"Olivia once sent people to monitor Helen, saying it was because she was infatuated at first sight with Harry. I never believed it, and now I have more reason to believe that she knew all along that Helen was the real daughter of the Smith Family, which is why she was always on guard against her."
The more Evelyn thought about it, the more likely it seemed, "Saying it was love at first sight with Harry is clearly just an excuse for dealing with us. Just wait, I will never let her off, the medicine Thomas made must have been given to Olivia."
Charles feared Evelyn would lose control again and quickly spoke to soothe her:
"Don’t be hasty. When Thomas comes back, we’ll ask and then decide how to handle it."
Evelyn nodded coldly.
She walked over to the sofa to sit down and looked at Edward Smith, saying:
"Call Thomas and have him come home immediately." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Edward nodded and called Thomas.
The phone rang for a while before Thomas answered, "Big brother."
"Where are you now?"
On the other end, Thomas’s reply was somewhat stammering, making Edward’s eyes deepen, his voice cooling a few degrees as he repeated the question:
"I’ll ask you again, where are you now?"
"I’m outside, does big brother have something to talk about?"
Edward didn’t press on where he was now; it wasn’t necessary to ask to know he was surely with Olivia.
"I need to talk to you. Come home immediately."
"Now?"
Thomas held the phone, his eyes somewhat troubled as he glanced at the person choosing accessories at the luxury goods counter, his lips slightly pursing.
"Yes, now. Immediately, come back to me right away."
From the other end, Edward’s undeniable voice was heard.
Thomas held the phone, pondered for a few seconds, then responded, "Okay, got it."
Although Olivia was picking jewelry, she subconsciously glanced when Thomas’s phone rang, knowing it was Edward calling.
Though she didn’t know what Edward was calling Thomas for, whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t good news for her.
