Relentless Pursuit After Divorce-Chapter 1961: Summer Hall Side Story (163)
As she selected jewelry, she glanced at Thomas Smith’s expression from the corner of her eye.
After Thomas Smith hung up the phone, he walked toward her.
"Olivia, Second Brother has something urgent to attend to, choose whatever you like, here’s this card for you."
He said as he handed his card to Olivia Smith.
Olivia Smith timely displayed a reluctant expression, looked up at him, and asked softly:
"So Second Brother is leaving now?"
Thomas Smith saw the reluctance in Olivia’s eyes, and hesitation flickered in his own, but recalling Edward’s assertive tone on the phone, he eventually nodded.
"Big Brother has something to talk about, I’ll head back first. You browse around, call me if you need anything."
Olivia bit her lower lip, feeling reluctant, yet still nodded, "Alright, travel safely."
She reached out, tightly holding Thomas’s hands, her eyes carrying a hint of subtle emotion.
Thomas stared in a daze at the small white hands resting on the back of his own, his heart slightly in disarray.
After Thomas left, Olivia curled her lips in satisfaction, holding the card he gave her, she walked back to the counter and said to the shop assistant:
"Please wrap this bracelet, these earrings, and the bracelet for me."
This brand of jewelry, being new, any piece was quite valuable.
Olivia asked for so many at once, the shop assistant was naturally delighted.
After taking the card, she flattered:
"Your boyfriend treats you so well." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
Olivia was momentarily taken aback, but quickly, she showed a slightly bashful look, vaguely explaining:
"He’s not my boyfriend."
"Then he’s pursuing you. A pretty lady like you would surely have many outstanding men pursuing you."
Thomas Smith was indeed quite the looker, standing out in any crowd with his appearance.
Offering a card that could be swiped freely, the shop assistant could immediately see Thomas’s extraordinary background.
Saying nice things could secure Olivia as a big client, naturally, they weren’t stingy with compliments.
Sure enough, Olivia felt quite pleased hearing those words.
She didn’t deny the shop assistant’s assumption about Thomas being her suitor either.
After Thomas returned home, he saw his parents and older brother sitting in the living room, their expressions serious, the atmosphere particularly tense.
His heart sank as he walked in slowly.
"Dad, Mom."
Then he turned his gaze to the sharp-eyed Edward Smith, asking:
"Big Brother, what’s the matter?"
Edward pointed with his eyes to the stuff placed on the table, saying:
"Take a look."
Thomas’s gaze fell on the file folder, his eyes deepening.
He remembered the analysis report on the drug Edward showed him that day; although he had no evidence, Edward insisted it was his doing.
Now, what’s inside this document folder?
Thomas, filled with inexplicable anger and trepidation of being found out, took the folder and opened it.
The contents made his face change drastically.
Edward’s voice rang out in front of him.
"You said last time Leo Hall deliberately framed you, so what about this time? Did Leo Hall force you to sign this signature or force you to get the drugs from the storeroom?"
Thomas gripped the file bag tightly with his fingers.
He knew he now had no opportunity or reason to explain this.
Previously, to avoid unnecessary trouble for Olivia, he outright denied the source of the drug, but now, he’s afraid denial won’t work anymore.
