Chapter 178: Chapter 178: What If I Say I Don’t Hate You Anymore?

Leona Grant’s expression couldn’t have been darker. "You don’t need to worry about other people, but you need to understand one thing. Don’t forget who’s responsible for my injury. For that reason alone, don’t you think you should be taking care of me twenty-four hours a day?"

"I can find you a better doctor."

"There is no better doctor. As far as I’m concerned, you’re the best, and the most suitable!"

Annabelle Linton pinched the bridge of her nose, a headache blooming. She said flatly, "Leona Grant, haven’t you realized something? I hate you, and you hate me. Why must we insist on staying together, only to grow sick of the sight of each other?"

When Leona Grant heard this, his heart felt a slight sting.

Once, she had loved him enough to give up her own life for him. Now, she felt that even a single extra glance was too much.

Leona Grant’s eyes darkened.

She hated him now, but he didn’t hate her.

"What if I don’t hate you?" Leona Grant’s voice was low, his gaze burning as he looked at her. "Annabelle Linton, what if I told you I don’t hate you anymore?"

A stunningly cold smile touched Annabelle Linton’s lips. With an air of nonchalance, she spoke the most heartless words: "But I hate you."

Looking at her unfiltered tone and expression, for a split second, Leona Grant’s heart suddenly felt empty.

It felt as if a knife had been brutally stabbed into the deepest part of his heart.

He didn’t know what was happening, nor did he know what expression was most appropriate for the moment. In the end, he just laughed it off.

"Whatever. But you’re taking care of my daily needs, that’s final. You injured me, so don’t think you can just walk away unscathed. I suggest you dutifully take care of me until I’m fully recovered. Otherwise, if anything at all goes wrong with my body, I won’t let you off the hook. Got it?"

Annabelle Linton stared at him coldly, her face devoid of expression.

"Three meals a day. I want to eat food you’ve made with your own hands. Not a single meal can be skipped, and the menu has to be different every day. If it’s not, you’ll do it over.

Don’t go home at night. You’ll stay here. I’ll have a bed set up for you. And don’t sleep too soundly, because I might call for you at any time. You need to be ready to get up and help me to the bathroom, or with a shower, things like that.

My clothes. A change twice a day, no repeating outfits. They must be neatly ironed, and you have to do it all yourself.

Let’s start tonight. From now on, you don’t need to worry about anything else, just focus on taking care of me. I want spaghetti for dinner. Go make it. If it’s not good, you’ll do it over."

Annabelle Linton’s delicate brows knitted together tightly. She narrowed her eyes at him. "Are you treating me like a maid?"

"If that’s how you want to see it, there’s nothing I can do."

"This isn’t up for discussion." Annabelle Linton turned to leave. "If you want the royal treatment, go hire a top-tier private nurse. I’m sorry, but I’m just a doctor. And from what I can see, your limbs are perfectly fine."

"You refuse?"

"You’re not disabled, so don’t expect to be treated like you are."

Leona Grant scoffed and dialed a number. "I’m giving you one hour. Release the video this afternoon. If you can’t get it done, you can consider yourself fired."

CRASH—

Annabelle Linton shoved the entire cart over, her eyes fierce as she glared at him. "Is threatening me all you know how to do?"

Leona Grant’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile. "If you have what it takes, you don’t have to let me threaten you."

Annabelle Linton took a deep breath and said in a heavy voice, "Call them and cancel that last order. I’ll do it." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎

"No take-backs?"

"I told you to make the call!"

Leona Grant let out a placid chuckle, then made the call.

Then, he gave Annabelle Linton a casual look, raising an eyebrow in amusement. "It’s almost dinnertime. Go prepare it. I’ve already told you my requirements. Remember, put your heart into it."

SLAM— Annabelle Linton viciously slammed the door shut and walked out.

As Leona Grant watched Annabelle Linton’s retreating back, the smile on his lips slowly faded...
