Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 211: The Formidable Person (4th Update)
Nangong Yi knew he had lost, but he had to at least try the cocktail. He put on an unconvinced expression and said, "Little girl, you’ve made a very good-looking cocktail, but for a truly great cocktail, looks aren’t enough. The taste is what matters."
"That’s right, the taste is what matters," Gona said, echoing Nangong Yi’s sentiment. "Let us have a taste. Only then will we know if it’s any good."
Unfortunately for them, the little girl wanted to drink it herself. She snorted. "You might be smart enough to fool other children, but you want to fool me? Dream on."
Nangong Yi and Gona were taken aback. Aren’t you a child?
The little girl didn’t care what Gona and Nangong Yi were thinking. She picked up the cocktail she had apparently mixed herself, glanced at it with a smile, and then started drinking it in big gulps as if it were a soda. It really did taste more like a soda than a cocktail, except it was countless times more delicious.
As she drank, an entranced expression came over her face. After finishing, she let out a satisfied burp, a look of pure bliss on her little face as she savored the aftertaste.
Seeing this, both Nangong Yi and Gona were stunned. This was especially true for Nangong Yi, who had a deep craving for fine liquor. He couldn’t help but gulp, knowing that the cocktail possessed a flavor he might never get to taste again. If he were confident he could overpower the little girl, Nangong Yi would have thrown his dignity to the wind and snatched it right out of her hands.
"Delicious," the little girl said, glancing proudly at Nangong Yi and Gona with her big eyes. Seeing their tormented expressions only made her even happier.
Gona and Nangong Yi gritted their teeth in frustration. The little girl had enough of this and tugged on Wu Tian’s sleeve. "Dad, let’s go upstairs."
Wu Tian nodded slightly. To him, the likes of Gona and Nangong Yi were nothing more than toys. He led the little girl upstairs, wondering why Qin Yuhan and Xia Qian were taking so long to change.
Just as Wu Tian and the little girl reached the second floor, Qin Yuhan and Xia Qian came out of their rooms, both looking disappointed. They had sized each other up and found their figures to be equally impressive, making it impossible to declare a winner. Qin Yuhan wore a black jacket, while Xia Qian wore a blue denim one. Though they were just jackets, they perfectly accentuated their wonderful curves. Any ordinary man would find it impossible to tear his gaze away from such a charming sight.
But Wu Tian only gave them a single glance before nodding. "Not bad."
The little girl immediately sided with Wu Tian, commenting, "Almost, but not as good as me."
Wu Tian, Qin Yuhan, and Xia Qian were speechless.
Realizing she had created an awkward silence, the little girl giggled. "I mean, you’re almost there compared to how I’ll look when I’m all grown up."
"Ohhh," Wu Tian, Qin Yuhan, and Xia Qian groaned in unison.
The little girl knew they didn’t believe her and got annoyed. "How dare you doubt me! I’m angry now!"
Wu Tian and the others couldn’t help but laugh out loud. The little girl’s pouting face was just too adorable. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
「Downstairs」
Gona and Nangong Yi were silent, their faces dark with displeasure. They both realized that in the recent clash, they had simply been toyed with.
"Brothers, what’s wrong with you two?" Cui Shanhe asked as he arrived directly from his family’s estate.
Gona and Nangong Yi both sighed but remained silent. Gona was the most frustrated, his right hand throbbing with pain from the fracture. He was in too foul a mood to even consider going to a hospital.
"Looks like you lost out to that guy again, eh?" Cui Shanhe chuckled.
Cui Shanhe still hadn’t asked for the man’s name, but it didn’t matter. On their home turf, his Cui Family was the undisputed local power. The only entity that could possibly influence the Cui Family was the corporation behind QQ and WeChat, but that conglomerate had always stuck to business, never meddling in power struggles.
"Brothers, since you’re both so down, let me tell you something to cheer you up," Cui Shanhe said.
"What is it?" Nangong Yi and Gona asked curiously.
Cui Shanhe chuckled before continuing, "Tomorrow night, my family is holding a banquet at our estate. We’ll be hosting an incredibly powerful person."
"Oh?" Gona and Nangong Yi were both taken aback. What kind of person could the Cui Family of Clear River possibly describe as "powerful"?
"Could it be? Is the Sword Emperor himself coming to Peng City?" Nangong Yi exclaimed as a possibility struck him. If the Sword Emperor were to come, I, Nangong Yi, would willingly perform the three bows and nine kowtows to become his disciple.
Upon hearing the name "Sword Emperor," Gona’s eyes also lit up. "Though I’m a foreigner, I have heard of this Sword Emperor. With him around, foreign experts don’t dare to act too arrogantly in Dragon Country. Someone so revered must surely look beyond concepts like race or the differences between Europeans and Asians. I... I want to become his disciple too!"
"Wrong, all wrong," Cui Shanhe said, shaking his head with a smile. "I haven’t met this person either. My family just called me back to tell me his name and warn me not to be arrogant for a while, lest I bring disaster upon our family. My grandfather said this formidable individual was introduced by an old friend of his. And that old friend claims this man is even greater than the Sword Emperor."
"Greater than the Sword Emperor?" Gona and Nangong Yi were so shocked their jaws dropped.
In their eyes, the Sword Emperor was already at the absolute peak of power. He was a single man with a single sword, so valued by the head of state that he was sometimes consulted before major decisions were made. What kind of person could be described as being greater than the Sword Emperor? Gona and Nangong Yi simply couldn’t fathom it.
"And you haven’t managed to find out anything else about a person like that?" Gona asked incredulously. "Cui Shanhe, all young people are curious. You must have asked your grandfather for more details about this powerful individual, right?"
Cui Shanhe nodded and took a deep breath. "My grandfather said the man is only twenty years old, and that even the Seven Saints of Dragon Country are nothing to him."
"Twenty years old?" Nangong Yi and Gona were dumbfounded, their faces masks of utter disbelief.
They were men who normally remained calm no matter the situation, but this news was simply too astonishing. How could someone who was merely twenty years old be so powerful that he didn’t even deign to acknowledge the Seven Saints of Dragon Country?
After a moment of heavy silence, Gona couldn’t help but sigh with emotion. "I was a frog in a well." He had always considered himself a formidable expert among his peers—a Half-step Innate master was truly exceptional, after all. But compared to the person Cui Shanhe described, his own Martial Path achievements were less than nothing.
"I just had an idea," Nangong Yi said, his eyes glinting. "Since he’s one of our peers, we could try to befriend him."
