Return of the Immortal Emperor Daddy-Chapter 247 - 248 Hung Men (1/5)
"Who can be saved?" the old woman asked immediately upon hearing Qiu Yulan and Lin Mo.
At this, both Qiu Yulan and Lin Mo looked toward Wu Tian, and the old woman’s gaze followed. The first sight of Wu Tian made her eyes light up. "What a handsome young man with such a refined temperament," she praised. "This is a true Eastern gentleman."
The old man, still convulsing on the ground, grew displeased hearing his wife praise another man. Gritting his teeth against the pain, he retorted, "Nonsense! When I was young, I was the most handsome man in the army. Even Mao Zu praised me!"
Who would believe that? The old woman rolled her eyes. Like her husband, she appreciated attractive members of the opposite sex, but it was purely admiration. In their hearts, they only had eyes for each other.
Looking at Qiu Yulan and Lin Mo, the old woman asked, "Are you saying this young gentleman can save my husband?"
Qiu Yulan and Lin Mo nodded. Without another word, the old woman headed toward Wu Tian, and the two women followed.
"Big Sister Mo, Big Sister Mo!" the little one cried, holding her arms out for a hug.
Lin Mo nodded and lifted the child into her arms.
"Big Sister Mo, did you miss me?"
"Yes, I did," Lin Mo replied.
"Do you want to see me every day?" the little one asked.
Lin Mo nodded. The child was so adorable that she did want to see her every day, but the little one had already stopped going to kindergarten. Lin Mo would have objected if it were any other child, but this little one was an exception; her intelligence was simply too advanced for kindergarten.
Thinking this, Lin Mo suddenly wondered if the little one was trying to set her up again.
Sure enough, the next moment, the child said, "If you want to see me every day, you can marry my dad. Then I can call you Mama Mo, and we’ll be even closer!"
"No, no." Hearing this, Lin Mo glanced at Wu Tian, her face flushing red. But remembering that Qin Yuhan was her best friend, she quickly declined.
The old woman had no time for such matters. She looked at Wu Tian and asked, "Can you save my husband?"
"A piece of cake," Wu Tian said calmly, taking a bite of food as he spoke.
Overjoyed, the old woman said, "Then please, help him."
Wu Tian shook his head. He was no saint. He did things when it was convenient, not because he was some hero who rushed through fire and water at every call for help. That would be far too annoying.
Seeing his reaction, the old woman didn’t get angry. When someone possessed a Medical Technique, saving you was a favor, but not saving you was their right. After a moment of thought, she made her decision. For her husband’s sake, she didn’t hesitate. "I am the Sect Leader of the Hongmen of the Seas. As long as you save my husband, the position is yours."
"What?" The eight bodyguards, though standing at a distance, were skilled enough to hear her and were left in shock.
The Hongmen, huh? Wu Tian hadn’t expected the old woman to hold such a status. The Hongmen was considered a sect in the Jianghu and, in the past, had an even more famous name: the Heaven and Earth Society. During the war of resistance, the Hongmen of the Seas had lent its strength. With the establishment of the new government and the people living in peace, the Hongmen had certainly earned its merits.
"Yes, the Hongmen. If you can cure my husband, the position of Sect Leader is yours," the old woman reiterated. She and her husband were in their seventies or eighties, yet their love hadn’t diminished with time; instead, it had grown even more profound. The Hongmen of the Seas was a premier power in the Underworld. Its leadership was a position countless people dreamed of, yet she was offering it up so casually.
Wu Tian smiled and pointed at the little one. "The Sect Leader is her."
The old woman was stunned. A child? But she didn’t hesitate for long. Compared to her husband, the affairs of the Hongmen were trivial. "Fine," she agreed.
With a smile, Wu Tian finally stood up and walked toward the old man. The old woman and the others hurried to follow, eager to see how he would perform the treatment.
The old man was still convulsing in pain on the ground. When he noticed the handsome young man approaching, his competitive spirit flared. Clenching his teeth, he declared, "You’re good-looking... but let me tell you, when I was young... I could have been one of the Four Great Handsome Men of the Republic of China."
Wu Tian chuckled. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Suddenly, seeing Wu Tian’s smile, the old man’s pupils dilated, and he began to tremble more violently. "You... Are you the Prime Minister? Are you the Prime Minister?" Then, genuine fear gripped him. "Am I already dead? Why else would I be seeing you, Prime Minister?"
Hearing her husband, the old woman took a closer look at Wu Tian’s face and was also startled. "The resemblance... it’s uncanny," she murmured. "You really look like the Prime Minister. One of the Four Great Handsome Men of the Republic of China was, in fact, the Prime Minister."
The Four Great Handsome Men of the Republic of China were the Prime Minister, Mr. Plum Blossom, the Young Marshal, and Wang the Traitor. The old woman found herself listing their distinctive features.
Realizing he wasn’t dead but that this young man merely resembled the Prime Minister, the old man clenched his teeth against the pain again. "Nonsense, dear, nonsense," he muttered. "Of the Four Great Handsome Men, that traitor doesn’t count. It should have been me... I..."
He was still trying to boast in front of the striking young people, not wanting to appear weak, when he noticed his wife’s scornful expression. "Hey, dear," he said, irritated, "what’s with that look?"
He saw his wife retract her surprised gaze and stare at Wu Tian in horror before turning back to him. "Your arm," she said, "it’s been sliced open."
Cutting open an arm to remove something isn’t hard, she thought. But to do it so swiftly while someone was talking, without anyone noticing... She had never witnessed a feat like that before.
The old man froze. Looking down at his arm, he saw it had indeed been sliced open. He could even see the white of the bone inside. He was completely stunned.
They watched as Wu Tian used his fingers as a knife and Spiritual Energy as the blade to slice through the old man’s flesh. The Spiritual Energy also nourished the wound, so the old man felt no pain at all. On the contrary, under the influence of the Spiritual Power, he felt his agonizing pain slowly fading away.
Wu Tian’s movements were effortlessly stylish. Peering at the object nestled in the bone of the old man’s right arm, he said with satisfaction, "Look. This is what’s causing your unbearable pain."
The old man, his wife, and the others leaned in to look. A worm was wriggling within the white bone. It was emerald green with tiny, blood-red eyes, but it was no bigger than an ant. More importantly, this worm could change color like a chameleon. Its lively eyes showed signs of intelligence. This was why medical instruments had failed to detect it.
Who would have thought such a tiny thing could cause such devastating consequences?
Wu Tian blew lightly, and the worm disintegrated into ash. Then, using Spiritual Power as thread, he sutured the wound. The flesh closed, leaving not even a hint of an incision. It was nothing short of miraculous.
The old man, having been through war, was used to scars. "This... not even a scar is left! My God, it’s incredible," he exclaimed. Then he asked, "But what exactly is that worm? And why was it inside me?"
"That is the Imperial Heart Gu," Wu Tian said with a faint smile. "Someone used this Gu to try and control you."
The old man was stunned. His suffering had only begun last month after he attended the Sword Emperor’s convention. Did that mean the Sword Emperor intended to... The old man dared not think any further.
Just then, Zheng Tichen and Murong Dawei arrived. They were puzzled to see Wu Tian there as well.
