Return to the City: The Strongest King-Chapter 1909 - 1811: Road Block (Part 4)
Capítulo 1909: Chapter 1811: Road Block (Part 4)
“Xiaodong, you take them back. Sijie and I can stay here.” Song Xiaoru said.
“Sister, you should go rest. Sijie and I will stay.”
“Alright then, you two be careful and don’t catch a cold. It’s a bit chilly at night.” Song Xiaoru advised.
“No problem, you all can go back.”
“Thanks, you two.” Sun Yiyi, Chu Xianling, and others bid farewell to Song Xiaodong.
Soon, the child was transferred to the pediatric ward.
Half of his head was wrapped in bandages.
“Will the child be brain-damaged from the hit?” Li Sijie asked worriedly, following the nurse pushing the hospital bed and asking Song Xiaodong.
“Getting a scalp cut turns into brain damage? You’re the one who’s silly.” Song Xiaodong looked at Li Sijie with a smile.
The nurses pushing the bed laughed and said to Li Sijie, “It’s okay, it’s all just surface wounds. Kids have delicate skin, so there are more bandages to protect them and prevent movement. Right now the child is only on painkillers, no anesthesia, to avoid other impacts. But when the child wakes up, he might fuss, so you need to keep a close watch and don’t let him touch his head with his hands.”
“Okay.”
Li Sijie held the child in her arms.
“Did Eldest Uncle’s Wife call you?” Song Xiaodong asked.
“Yeah, I didn’t answer all afternoon, but she was incredibly persistent, called more than 20 times. I finally answered in the evening and got scolded.”
Li Sijie took out her phone to show Song Xiaodong a long list of missed calls from Eldest Uncle’s Wife.
“She had the nerve to scold you?” Song Xiaodong asked.
“Of course, everything is my fault. I didn’t stop you, I kept it from them.” Li Sijie recalled with some irritation.
“Really ungrateful.” Song Xiaodong said with a frown.
“Enough, ignore her. I’ll handle them after I’ve calmed down.” Li Sijie also got annoyed.
“Alright, whatever you say, whenever you say.” Song Xiaodong agreed readily.
“Today’s events are probably enough for your Deputy Director Qiao to drink a whole bottle.” Li Sijie laid her head on Song Xiaodong’s shoulder and said.
“Why my Deputy Director Qiao.” Song Xiaodong turned to her and said.
“Don’t pretend with me. Even a fool can see that Deputy Director Qiao likes you. When she got taken away by the police, that backward glance was so full of affection, it was practically dripping from her eyes.” Li Sijie said with overflowing jealousy.
“No way, you’re talking nonsense.”
“Keep pretending. She even went into the bureau for you, and you don’t plan to take her in?”
Song Xiaodong thought about how Qiao Yutong only wanted a physical relationship rather than being a girlfriend and decided against mentioning it.
“Nah, let nature take its course. Dating an officer is risky, it’s either me in the bureau or her.” Song Xiaodong stuck out her tongue.
“What do you plan to do about this? I see these officers know your Deputy Director Qiao; it could be troublesome.” Li Sijie said.
“It is a bit troublesome. I also offended a big shot today.” Song Xiaodong said.
“Oh, apart from you, who else is a big shot in Minghe?” Li Sijie joked.
“This time’s different.” Song Xiaodong said and then looked up at the hospital room’s ceiling, lost in thought.
Qiao Yutong was politely “invited” into the interrogation room.
They even deliberately arranged it in the interrogation room she often used to question suspects.
Soon, two officers entered. Qiao Yutong recognized them as Officer Zhou and Officer Li, under Chen Yunhua.
“Have you checked? Was it drunk driving?” Officer Zhou and Officer Li sat across from Qiao Yutong and placed her documents on the table. Officer Zhou asked Officer Li.
“Yes.” Officer Li answered.
“Deputy Director Qiao, we’re really sorry. We’re just following the law, as you always taught us.” It just so happened that Qiao Yutong had indeed had a couple of drinks and it was detected.
“Alright, stop dawdling. Let’s follow the procedure.” Qiao Yutong’s eyes widened, making Officer Zhou and Officer Li feel a chill down their spines.
Chapter 1814: Mistaken Complaint
“Okay, Deputy Director Qiao, you are quite familiar with our procedures.” Officer Zhou looked at Officer Li and said with a smile.
Qiao Yutong bit her lip in silence.
“Is the car yours?”
“Yes.” Officer Zhou apparently heard the answer he most wanted. He was eager for the car to belong to Qiao Yutong. If it was Song Xiaodong’s, they wouldn’t dare investigate further. But if it was Qiao Yutong’s, Chen Yunhua had already instructed them to follow the procedures.
So having admitted it, they didn’t investigate further or question more, just went directly to register it.
“Forcing passage through a closed city road construction section, fines between 200 and 2,000 yuan, detention for up to 15 days.” Officer Zhou began to list the charges.
Qiao Yutong wrinkled her nose.
“Severe speeding, classified as dangerous driving, detention for over one month up to six months.”
Qiao Yutong bit her lip.
“Drunk driving, fines between 1,000 and 2,000 yuan, 12-point penalty, six-month license suspension.”
Qiao Yutong furrowed her brow.
“Oh, and my favorite charge, drunk driving a motor vehicle, violence, threats obstructing the police inspection, obstruction of duties, plus any other offenses, multiple crimes combined.” Officer Zhou finished reading and glanced at Qiao Yutong.
Qiao Yutong gritted her teeth.
“Officer Zhou, there’s more.” Officer Li reminded from the side.
“Oh, and also, if a public official violates the ‘notice’ regulations for traffic violations and is subject to criminal punishment, according to the ‘Civil Servant Discipline Regulations,’ dismissal will be issued.” Officer Zhou finally finished.
Qiao Yutong finally couldn’t hold it in and sighed.
“Ah, Deputy Director Qiao, that’s more like it.” Officer Zhou tilted his head looking at Qiao Yutong.
