Capítulo 1912: Chapter 1815: Abusive Love (Part 2)

Qiao Yutong laughed happily for a while, then suddenly fell silent, tears brimming in her eyes.

“Alright, alright, don’t be afraid, I won’t let you stay in the detention center.” Song Xiaodong realized Qiao Yutong might be crying and comforted her.

“You’re annoying…”

Qiao Yutong directly hung up the phone.

Song Xiaodong and Li Sijie were still soothing the child. The child had slept all afternoon, and when the pain relief wore off in the evening, the child kept crying.

“How is it? Were they released?” Li Sijie asked.

“Yes, Secretary Liu beside Director Zhao went there and got them out. The matter has been handed over to Director Zhao, and they’ll come up with some explanation to smooth things over.”

“That’s good, that’s good,” Li Sijie said.

“This little police flower really is quite loyal to you, willing to go to prison for you, not easy at all.”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Song Xiaodong kissed Li Sijie on the forehead.

“Look, she arrests you, and then goes to prison for you; you two are really in a tortured love.” Li Sijie said to Song Xiaodong.

“Alright, alright, go soothe your child.”

“Hey! That’s not your child. Why should I always be the one to soothe them?”

“Then we’ll take turns and time it.”

The next day, Song Xiaoru came early to pick up Song Xiaodong and Li Sijie.

Chapter 1816: Understanding is Good Enough

“Quick, how is my nephew?” Song Xiaoru rushed over energetically, not at all like her usual composed and graceful self.

“Sis, you are calling it wrong,” said Li Sijie jokingly to Song Xiaoru.

“How is that wrong? This is my brother’s child, I’m supposed to call him nephew!” Song Xiaoru lifted her eyebrows and reached out to hold the child.

“Sis, you’re also Song Xiaodong’s wife!” With many people in the ward, Li Sijie whispered in Song Xiaoru’s ear.

“Oh, right…” Song Xiaoru fell into deep thought.

“Then what should I call them?” Song Xiaoru said quietly while holding the child, conversing with Li Sijie.

“Call them your son!” Li Sijie told Song Xiaoru.

“Does that make sense? No one calls them that way.” Song Xiaoru frowned.

“Let’s go, let’s head home; it doesn’t matter what you call them!” Song Xiaodong packed up to leave.

Song Xiaodong drove.

“How is it, what did the physician say?” Song Xiaoru asked.

“Nothing serious, stitches will be removed in seven days, and we’ll return to the hospital in a couple of days,” Li Sijie answered.

“You need to be more mindful, don’t bother looking after the child anymore, let’s have Sister Wu keep an eye on them all the time. You’re too careless.” Song Xiaoru admonished Li Sijie.

“Sis, it was just this once, you wouldn’t want to strip me of my parental rights, right?” Li Sijie pouted.

“Of course, didn’t you say that I’m also the child’s mother!” Song Xiaoru laughed as she spoke to Li Sijie.

“Xiaodong, what do you say?” Li Sijie asked Song Xiaodong to weigh in.

“Sis is right; just let Sister Wu keep an eye on them all the time. If you want to soothe the child, do it with Sister Wu. I wouldn’t be reassured without her.” Song Xiaodong said.

“You too…” Li Sijie tried to snatch the child from Song Xiaoru’s arms.

“Quick, give me back my child…”

“It’s all because of Eldest Uncle’s Wife, she called all yesterday afternoon and I didn’t answer. I only answered at night thinking she’d calmed down, but instead, she’d been stewing all afternoon and it made things worse; she scolded me harshly.” Li Sijie said angrily, her eyebrows raised.

“You messed up her child’s business; of course she’s mad at you,” Song Xiaoru said to Li Sijie.

“It wasn’t me, it was him,” Li Sijie pointed at Song Xiaodong who was driving.

“Why are those relatives of yours so bullying?” Song Xiaodong said proudly.

“What did your Eldest Uncle’s Wife say about you?” Song Xiaodong asked.

“Not much, just that I’m clueless, I kept things from her, and all her pampering was for nothing.” Li Sijie replied.

“How did she pamper you normally?” Song Xiaodong asked.

“Ugh, she has the nerve. When I was little, she’d incite Feng Sheng to grab food from me at Granddad’s house. If he couldn’t win, he’d bite me—does that count?” Li Sijie revisited the memory with rising anger.

“Hahaha!” Song Xiaoru couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“Your relatives are really something.”

“More than that, I bet my parents will be driven crazy in the next few days. Eldest Uncle’s Wife will definitely come to my house every day. She won’t be there to plead, but to threaten my parents. Luckily, they are patient, or there would surely be fights again.”

“Hey, Xiaodong, how did things go with Deputy Director Qiao?” Song Xiaoru asked.

“He called me yesterday, and they’ve been released. The matter, well, Director Zhao should be able to suppress it.” Song Xiaodong answered.

“That’s good,” Song Xiaoru nodded in satisfaction.

“Sis, I think Director Qiao has feelings for Xiaodong!” Li Sijie said mysteriously to Song Xiaoru.

“Yes, I know, but things aren’t so simple. I spoke with her the other day, and she seems to be wavering.” Song Xiaoru replied.

“Wavering about what? Our Xiaodong is an outstanding man; what woman wouldn’t be swayed? This Director Qiao is quite hard to win over.”

“Don’t say that, even if they don’t get together, we should at least treat her a bit more kindly considering she went to detention for Song Xiaodong.” Song Xiaoru said.

“Got it.” Li Sijie nodded with a smile.

“What do you think?” Li Sijie shifted her eyes and nudged the back of the chair where Song Xiaodong was leaning against with her knee.

“I… think Deputy Director Qiao is quite nice…”

“Hahaha, then what are you waiting for, go win her over with both softness and toughness!” Li Sijie said to Song Xiaodong.

“Don’t encourage him, or he’ll get arrested again sometime.”

Back home, there was another round of concern.

Once everyone was finished showing their concern, Song Xiaodong finally had a moment of leisure and called Deputy Director Zhang of the Minghe City Fire Department.
