Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 117: party and anger
At night...
The party was held in a hotel ballroom decorated in white and blue hues and attended by many elite guests. Valerie sat on the dais, of course, with Damian, receiving congratulations from the guests who were relatives, friends, and colleagues, while enjoying the musical entertainment available on the elegant stage.
"Now we invite the bride and groom to pour wine into the beautiful glasses and then cut the wedding cake," said the male MC standing on stage accompanied by a female MC.
"Come on..." Damian stood up immediately and then reached out to Valerie.
Valerie sighed, trying to shake off her nerves. She looked at Damian, so handsome in his black suit, then reached for his hand and stood up.
"It’s Okay. You are the beautiful queen... No need to be shy... This is our night," Damian whispered, looking at Valerie, so beautiful in her navy blue evening gown with sparkling beads when hit by the light.
"Now is not the time to brag," Valerie replied, blushing.
Damian smirked, then led Valerie down the short stairs to the right side of the ballroom where various dishes were available, then there was a large table containing a tall white and blue wedding cake, and another table with empty beautiful glasses arranged and beside them were several bottles of wine.
"You are the most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen!" the MC exclaimed as Valerie arrived there.
Valerie just smiled shyly.
"Okay, you can say something to them before dinner starts," said the female MC, handing a mic to Damian.
Damian took the mic and stepped a little away from Valerie, but still holding her hand.
"So..." He took a deep breath, looking at the audience. "I want to thank you all for coming even though on your first invitation you also came but you guys didn’t see us getting married. It’s about the moment two years ago... I mean... more than two years ago."
Valerie was stunned, not expecting Damian to bring up their past.
"Perhaps at that time you were confused why the wedding was canceled, then I didn’t give any confirmation at all. It was all because of my mistake and it also made me realize that I have to appreciate love and my partner more... I can’t just trust people around me including my friends. That incident hit me... But it didn’t make me give up... I kept pursuing her until we could be together like today," Damian said again, smiling warmly at Valerie. "She is the best girl for me, she is the mother of my son... She is so strong... Even as a result of our previous canceled wedding, she struggled to conceive and give birth to our son without my support... She felt such deep trauma that she shouldn’t have gotten because she was so good and never hurt anyone. I am so proud of her and always believe that we deserve to be together because no matter how many times and how big the problems we face, we can still be together because we love each other even though there are so many misunderstandings that happen that make us keep arguing."
Damian took a deep breath.
"What happened between us made me realize that when God wants us together, God will still put love in our hearts even though our mistakes make us feel unworthy of love again. Valerie loves me unconditionally... Even though she knows I’m such a jerk and always embarrass her," he said again.
Valerie shook her head with her teary eyes.
"Even until today I feel unworthy for you but I also don’t want you to be with another man... I will try to make myself worthy of you," Damian said again. "Today is like a dream for me because of the previous events, the cancellation of our wedding events seemed to make me lose hope especially when you disappeared suddenly. And seeing you wearing the dress we chose long ago, wearing the ring I prepared long ago... It’s a dream and feels impossible for me but now I see it happening. I don’t know what to say to describe my happiness tonight... But I am very grateful for the opportunity and trust you gave me And I swear before God in front of all of you... I will never betray you," he continued with teary eyes, suddenly remembering his past mistakes.
Valerie immediately approached and hugged him.
"I love you," Damian whispered.
Valerie released her hug, then kissed Damian’s lips several times and turned back to those who gave applause.
She took over the mic and tried to calm herself before speaking.
"Um... Thank you all for being present to witness our happy day. First, I want to say that..." Valerie looked at Damian, who smiled tearfully at her. "I love him so much... And I’m also very sorry for leaving him on our previous wedding day. It’s not just because of his fault, but I was also wrong. I was too impulsive, I couldn’t act maturely, and in the end, I learned a lot from all the difficulties we faced. We can’t make decisions unilaterally, and we can’t expect our partners to always be perfect..." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
Valerie sighed, focusing on Damian.
"Maybe some people say he’s bad, but for me, he’s the best and most powerful man and the father of my son... And I promise I will never leave him again," she continued, then Damian immediately pulled her and kissed her lips, then the audience applauded so enthusiastically.
The party continued with cutting the cake, pouring wine, enjoying the dishes, and dancing together, even Valerie managed to dance with her father, father-in-law, and some friends in turn.
...
In her family mansion, Karina fell silent, staring at her phone showing the live broadcast of Damian and Valerie’s wedding party.
’It still feels unfair. He should have married me, as his father promised me!’ she thought angrily, imagining Darius’ face. "How can that fucking old man be happy after embarrassing me? He just forgot about me after I worked so hard to scheme to be with Damian, even the money I spent was not small for all the dramas we did!"
"Karina..."
The voice diverted her attention. She turned and saw Tristan after a long time they hadn’t met. She immediately averted her gaze, as if not wanting to see him.
’Traitor!’ she thought angrily.
Tristan closed the door again and slowly approached Karina, feeling guilty and worried she would be angry.
"Um... your father came to me... When I was in Mexico. He told me that..."
"That you have to marry me, right?" Karina interrupted Tristan.
"Um... yes..." Tristan nodded.
"That’s what you want... You’re so cunning, you’ve planned all this... you’ve been planning to destroy all my plans to be with Damian so I have to marry you!" Karina said angrily, then stood up and looked at Tristan with anger. "What were you thinking that you dare to do that? Do you think I will love you in your way? Do you think always having sex with you will make me love you?" She asked with her fiery eyes.
Tristan fell silent, hurt, also feeling guilty.
"I’ve said... We can be close, I’ll give you whatever you want because I care about you as a friend... But why did you destroy that trust? Why?" Karina asked harshly. "You said you love me but you destroyed me... You destroyed me!"
"Karina..." Tristan shook his head. "I didn’t mean it like that."
"Then what? What do you mean by explaining to Damian about us?"
"I just..." Tristan bit his lower lip. "I just don’t want to see Valerie suffer anymore. She and Daniel have already suffered enough because of Samuel and Clara’s betrayal... I can’t bear to see her suffer again because of you. It’s enough... And as I said, I don’t want Damian to marry you out of obligation because that could make him cruel to you... I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, especially when you’re carrying my child."
"Just pretend this isn’t your child!" Karina exclaimed, pointing at Tristan.
Tristan narrowed his eyes.
"I got myself pregnant to be with Damian, not you!" Karina shouted again. "I was just using you, and you’ve known that for a long time. You willingly submitted yourself to be my servant... So don’t consider my pregnancy as a reason for us to be together. It will never happen, I refuse to marry you, never, I even hate you!" She approached Tristan and punched his chest.
"Karina... Stop!" Tristan stepped back, avoiding the blow.
"I hate you, you bastard, traitor!" Karina pushed Tristan against the wall, then she turned away and cried. "You’ve destroyed me!"
Tristan fell silent, feeling shattered, not expecting Karina to still reject him even though she was pregnant with his child.
"Am I so ugly to you that you treat me like this?"
"This isn’t about good looks!" Karina turned to point at Tristan. "This is about love... you can’t force me to love you!"
"And you can’t force Damian to love you."
"That is none of your business!"
"It’s my business because now you have my baby in your belly!" Tristan emphasized as if he didn’t want to give in. "Whatever you say, nothing can change the fate that this is my baby, I have the right to it. And I don’t want her or him to get bad treatment from Damian!"
"Oh ..." Karina nods her head. "You want the best for it, you want to be a good father ... You will, Will you get what you want!"
"What do you mean?"
