Return With the Billionaire Baby Daddy-Chapter 161: Scolding Karina
Karina slowly grasped the oxygen tube attached to Fanny’s nose and pulled it, causing her to immediately convulse.
"Wow... So you really only live because of that device," she said, not smiling and folding her arms, watching Fanny convulse with her chest heaving and her eyes slowly widening. "I thought you would die instantly, but it seems you have to suffer first."
"Hey!"
A man’s voice behind her startled her, causing Karina to step back and see that the man was Tristan, who quickly reattached the oxygen tube to Fanny’s nose.
Karina was surprised, her lips seemingly unable to move, watching Fanny readapt to the oxygen while Tristan stared at her sharply.
"You’re truly a devil!" Tristan exclaimed with fiery eyes, then pulled Karina to leave the room.
"Tristan..."
"You truly embarrassed me!"
"Tristan, let go of me!"
Tristan immediately released his grip on Karina when they reached the door, then glared at her.
"What? What now? What’s your purpose in doing this? What mistake has she made that made you want her dead?" He asked impatiently.
Karina fell silent, don’t dare to meet Tristan’s gaze.
"I know who she is!" Tristan gritted his teeth. "She’s Daniel’s former nanny and the person who intentionally scattered toy beads on the stairs, probably to make Valerie fall, but it was Hannah who fell instead. Does that mean you told her to do it?"
Karina pushed Tristan away from her immediately.
"You’re talking nonsense!" she exclaimed before walking towards the elevator.
"Karina!" Tristan quickly followed Karina and grabbed her hand, spinning her to face him. "I won’t let you leave without resolving this!"
"What’s the problem?"
"First of all, why did you become a liar? Why did you do this? Do you want to harm Valerie because you can’t accept her being happy with Demian?" Tristan asked sharply.
"Yes," Karina replied curtly, pouting.
Tristan was taken aback.
"I hate seeing their happiness while I’m not happy, it’s not fair, right?" Karina said loudly. "Do you think I can be satisfied just by marrying you? Not at all!"
"So... You’ve just been deceiving me all this time?" Tristan asked with disappointment.
"What do you think?" Karina retorted with a sarcastic look. "I never really wanted you... and now you’ve disappointed me... I can’t forgive you!" She affirmed before stepping into the elevator.
Tristan fell silent with pain and anger, Karina’s attitude truly showed that she had no power as a man, like being weak because of love.
"No... I can’t let her be like this!" He quickly stepped forward to prevent the door from closing, then entered and positioned himself next to Karina. "You can’t be mad at me so I’m not mad at you."
"What do you mean?" Karina asked.
Tristan remained silent and frowned until the elevator opened, and their attention was drawn to Damian and Valerie’s presence.
"You..." Valerie smiled but quickly faded as a question arose from Demian’s mouth.
"What are you two doing in this hospital?"
Tristan fell silent, glancing at Karina with clenched fists, then quickly walked away without wanting to give Damian an answer.
"Tristan?" Valerie watched Tristan walk away in a hurry, then turned to Karina.
"Why is he like that, are you two fighting?" She asked.
Karina remained silent, glaring at Valerie with hatred but ultimately not daring to express it, choosing instead to leave immediately.
"Karina!"
"They’re so weird," Damian muttered. "What are they doing here? Which room are they from? Isn’t the obstetrician’s room on the ground floor?"
"I don’t know..." Valerie shrugged.
"Sir... Ma’am..."
Valerie and Damian’s attention shifted to two bodyguards who had just arrived. The man frowned at them in surprise.
"How could you leave Fanny at the same time? And who’s watching her now?" He asked with annoyance.
"We asked one of the nurses to watch over her... It’s something we usually do when we want to have breakfast," explained one of the bodyguards with quick hair and tan skin.
"You shouldn’t have left her with a nurse or anyone!" Demian asserted.
Valerie immediately hugged Demian’s arm, realizing that his emotions were starting to escalate. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"It’s pointless for me to pay you so much if you do your job so carelessly!" Damian said firmly. "Couldn’t you eat in shifts? Why do you have to eat together, go together? Or maybe you two can’t be separated? Are you gay?"
"Sorry, Sir..." the other bodyguard immediately bowed his head. "We didn’t mean to disappoint you but we thought there would be no problem with what we did."
"Oh, really?" Demian smirked. "What if someone entered the room and tried to kill her? What if that person disguised themselves as a nurse? Or maybe Fanny herself would escape when she turns out to be only pretending to be in a coma?"
"Honey, calm down!" Valerie whispered.
Damian sighed, trying to calm down and not wanting to see those stupid bodyguards again. He immediately led Valerie into the elevator, but he frowned when he saw them about to enter.
"No! I won’t ride the same elevator with you two first!" he exclaimed, then pressed one of the elevator buttons, and finally the door closed.
Valerie glanced at Damian, who looked casual in black and blue, matching her blue dress. She realized the tension on her husband’s face as she released her embrace on his arm.
"I think this doesn’t need to be a big deal," she said.
"Don’t you think about Karina and Tristan?" Damian asked instead.
Valerie furrowed her brow, wondering what Damian meant by asking that.
"They’re in this hospital, the hospital where Fanny is. And Fanny is the person who almost harmed you but likely has no conflict with you, so she might just be someone’s pawn!" Demian explained seriously. "What if Karina or Tristan is the mastermind? What if they asked us to harm you? What if they came because they didn’t want Fanny to wake up and give the true testimony?"
Valerie fell silent, furrowing her brow, Demian’s words brought her into speculation and suspicion if it was the person who ordered Fanny to hurt her.
"She’s a drama queen... I’ll find out everything soon," she said, then quickly stepped out of the elevator when the door opened again.
Damian quickly followed Valerie, who walked hurriedly towards the ICU where Fanny was being treated.
