Chapter 135: CURSE

Sean followed the sweet smell he perceived until he got to place with dense forest trees surrounding the area.

He looked at the trees coldly as he contemplated whether he should go back to assist Asis but then again thought that Asis motive was pointless, he wanted to know where the smell was coming from, it was the smell of blood alright but it was different from other blood smells.

Going through the tress, Sean saw a lone figure sitting by a pond while using a stick to poke the water as she crouched on the ground looking sad.

"Who are you?" Sean asked coldly making sure not to drop his guard against the figure, he knew that the revolutionaries had a lot of enemies who wanted to be at the top, and now that he was their heir’s right hand man, he knew that he too was now a target for them.

"Dad I already said I’m not going don’t bother me." Adara’s monotone voice said, although she wondered how Damon was able to find her solace place she was not really bothered about it, all she wanted at the moment was to be left alone.

Sean felt his eyes twitch as he looked at himself wondering whether he was already old enough to be referred to as a dad, Vampires were immortals he was still a kid at this age and she dared to refer him as dad, what does she take him for. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Hearing no response from the intruder, Adara turned around to see the trick in which her father was playing but furrowed her brows seeing an unfamiliar person there.

"Who are you?" It was her turn to ask now as she stared at Sean’s unfamiliar face.

"At least I know now I’m not old." Somewhat relieved to see that she did not see his build before calling him dad, looking at the girl closely, Sean found her somewhat familiar, unable to die down his curiosity, he went closer to her and grabbed her by the cheeks turning her face left and right scrunitizing it.

"What do you think you are doing?" Adara asked wondering why her face was being squished by a complete stranger, was he drunk? She wondered unable to piece why you would walk up to someone and start squishing their face.

Was it really her, Sean thought to himself as he stared at the girl before him before immediately removing his hands from her cheek like he had touched poison, "What the heck was that for?" Adara asked as she massaged her jaw, she glared at him because he grip was too strong causing her jaw to ache at the moment.

"Pardon me now, I would take my leave." Sean said before leaving not giving Adara a chance to knock up some sense into him as she planned to.

Angrily, Adara kicked a stone cursing badly then dropped to the ground again poking the water furiously.

Sean hid behind one of the tress watching her as he found her reaction cute and adorable but shook his head trying to erase his mind from it.

His grip on the tree tightened leaving a mark as he glanced at Adara one more time before taking his leave.

Sean was too dazed to meet up with Asis at the roadside in which he left him and immediately left to their home.

Reaching there he dropped his dagger on a stool close to the door before heading to Asis room wanting to talk to him but surprisingly, Asis was in the same state as him as he stared at a pouch in a daze.

"What did you do?" Sean asked seeing Asis like that, "I did nothing, I just happened to bump into my mother and she gave me this, maybe to mock me for being poor." Asis snorted throwing the pouch under his bed trying to avoid Sean’s taunt of calling him weak.

In the end, Sean sighed and sat down on the bed, "Sean.." Asis called out after a long moment of silence, "Could my parents really have thrown me out, they did not seem like it when I saw them." Asis said in a low voice like he was doubting his own thoughts.

"If they wanted you they would not have thrown you away in the first place." Sean said coldly, he would not lie if he said that he did not hate Asis parents because he watched the boy slowly crawl out of the depression he was in at the fact that he was abandoned and not only that, he hated Asis parents because Silva had told him that after he investigated the matter of his parents death, it was Damon and Amelia that were responsible for his parents death.

After another round of silence went round the room, Sean pursed his lips together before finally deciding to speak, "I saw Adara again today." He voiced out, "Oh my gosh, you saw Adara! How is she doing?!" Asis exclaimed his mood almost immediately being lifted up, "I did not speak with her, you know what happens when I get closer to other people other than you." Sean said with the light in his eyes immediately dimming almost disappearing completely.

"Oh right the curse, well it’s good that way, I never wanted to both to interact." Asis nodded with satisfaction, he felt bad for his friend all right but there was this protective intention he had towards Adara that the thought of any males other than him going close to her makes him want to claw then down.

"Thanks for being supportive." Sean said sarcastically rolling his eyes, "Well I better get going, we have to move some weapon shipment today since the devil would be busy with his family it would be a great time." Sean said nodding at Asis before going out, once he left, Asis picked the pouch once more staring at it, this was more or less the first gift he had received from his mother.

Hearing a knock on the door, Asis swiftly threw the pouch back and went to open the door, "I have a mission for you." Asis met a beaming Silva standing at the door way.
