Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 127: Finally Met
Mr. De Rossi glanced inside, and his gaze instantly darkened when he saw the empty barrel.
"That’s impossible," he said, stumbling back from the shock.
The barrel was empty. Even the cement he’d used to add an extra level of suffocation just in case she was still breathing was nowhere in sight.
She’d been rescued, and the person who saved her took everything out.
The engine of a car driving towards them caught their attention.
It was Mylo.
He stepped out of his car with an amused look on his face.
"Will you look at that?" He asked. "Father, I’ve always known you were such a wicked person but not once did I think you would be so wicked enough to bury someone alive, and worst of it, in a barrel?"
Mylo couldn’t believe his eyes either.
He was aware of what lengths his father went to just to get rid of people, that’s why he was able to turn Dante into a killing machine by threatening to kill their sister, his very own daughter.
"Get out of here!!" Mr. De Rossi yelled, his face red with rage.
"Why are you getting angry at me now? It’s not like I was the one who rescued her, made a resurrection incantation, and brought her back to life," Mylo replied, his hands on his hips while his grin stretched even further.
Mr. De Rossi glared at his son, but decided to ignore him. He had a much bigger problem at hand, and that was getting rid of Eva once again.
At this point, he would have to dismember all her body parts to be sure she stays dead forever.
Another car suddenly pulled over, and when Mr. De Rossi recognized it, his face fell.
Dante stepped out of the car, his eyes red with rage. He darted his eyes towards the barrel, and to his father.
"This is where you buried her," he stated.
Dante had surveyed a few forests in Lexora, demanding that his people check every nook and cranny and it seemed they’d missed a spot.
He’d thought the one person who would most definitely not be happy with Eva being alive was his father.
Who would have thought the man would go to the scene of his crime to be sure his victim was rooting inside?
However, Mr. De Rossi didn’t reply to Dante’s comment, instead, he instructed his men on getting rid of the barrel and filling the ground back so no evidence would be left behind.
When he was done, he faced Dante, "She may have escaped this time around, but definitely not next time. And if I have to, I’ll cut off her body parts and feed them to the lions." Then Mr. De Rossi chuckled. "I have to say that your so-called wife is quite brainless. She decided to reveal herself to the public despite everything. Unless, she lost her memory."
Dante’s lips thinned at this.
Eva having a memory loss would actually be the best thing for him, even though it may sound selfish. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Mr. De Rossi glanced at his two sons before he got into his car and left.
Mylo glanced at Dante, patting him on the shoulders.
"You should really man up and face father instead of letting him do as he pleases," said Mylo.
Dante glared at his hand that was resting on his shoulders but Mylo didn’t take it off at all, instead, he gripped his shoulder a little harder.
"Eva is alive. You should be happy," he continued.
"You talk about facing father. If only you’d helped me years ago, then Rhea wouldn’t be in some kind of confinement room."
Mylo’s lips thinned and there was nothing he could say.
He watched as Dante turned and left with his car, his teeth gnashing together with unfiltered guilt.

In Timbelwood, Eva was glad that her commercial instantly got fifty million views in just two hours.
After thinking for a long time, Eva decided to partner with Eleoquise. It was a company she’d worked with in the past, and hopefully, they wouldn’t pull off the same trick like Megan did with her.
She’d also terminated her contract with Veila, and Megan wasn’t happy about it. But after paying her fees which were a large amount of money, she quickly shut her mouth.
"You’re doing so well," said Maxine. Then she carefully pulled Eva into a soft hug as if she were a porcelain doll that would break if she were not handled with care.
Eva rolled her eyes at this but didn’t say anything. She hugged Maxine back and took a deep breath.
By this time, the commercial should already have reached Mr. De Rossi and who knows what he could be plotting against her.
"Mrs. De—Ms. Montclair. Everything is ready. Are you prepared for the press conference?" A woman asked. Eva recognized her. She was one of the staff working in Eleoquise.
Eva nodded.
This was a press conference arranged to answer questions that everyone had about her, including her disappearance and her relationship status.
Both Maxine and Eva walked towards the room where it was taken. Just like that one she’d participated in back when she was still in Veila, this one was much more defined with almost a hundred reporters sitting with their cameras and microphones, ready to blast her with questions.
Eva huffed. She knew she couldn’t evade this moment since she’d decided to come back as Eva and make herself known to the public again.
"Ms. Montclair, it’s been a long time since you’ve appeared on national TV after your disappearance. Do you mind answering a few questions for us?" A reporter asked respectfully.
"I don’t mind at all." Eva smiled.
And then it began.
The first question behind the obvious one; Where did you disappear to?
Eva took a deep breath. She’d prepared for this and she was going to answer all questions flawlessly.
"I was attacked by a group of bandits a few months ago and had been in a coma. I only woke up a few months ago," she replied, and the reporter noted that down.
The other reporters were quite stunned at this but didn’t say anything. They followed through their lists of questioning and Eva responded without a single stutter.
And then came the big lie that she and Dante were already divorced.
The audience was shocked, too shocked to make a sound, while Eva held a faint smirk on her lips when she saw their expression.
After several more questions, the press conference was over and she was allowed to leave.
Maxine excused herself to have a few words with the staff and Eva took the opportunity to wander around for a little bit.
The headquarters of Eleoquise was in Lexora but the building in Timbelwood was still large enough.
The lights around the building make it look taller than it actually is, and Eva couldn’t help but feel mesmerized by it.
Before Eva could realize it, she’d already wandered towards the little park beside the building where staff can stay to relax and cool under the sun.
The night was cold and chilly, but it didn’t disturb Eva like it did in the past anymore.
She was deep in thought but when she suddenly heard footsteps coming from behind her, she quickly turned, only to find him standing right behind her like a statue.
His gaze was on her, filled with so many emotions that used to calm her down, but now, it only irritated her.
"Let me guess, you’re here to kill me?" Eva asked, facing him completely.
Dante couldn’t help but feel hurt by her words.
Without replying to her, he stormed towards her, while Eva took a few steps back, cautious around him. However, Dante was able to close the distance between them in only five long strides.
He pulled her towards him, enveloping her in a big hug as he buried his head in the crook of her shoulders.
Her body went stiff. She felt something wet on her shoulders. He was crying.
"I missed you so much. I thought...I thought you were dead," he said as he cried into her shoulders.
He was holding her so tightly it looked like he was scared someone would come snatch her away from him once again.
"I thought I’d lost you forever." He cried so hard that his body shook.
Eva’s lips thinned, not sure of how she was supposed to respond to his sudden affection after what he’d done to her.
She gritted her teeth, having had enough of the drama.
She gathered all her strength and pushed him away from her. But he was several pounds heavier than she so her effort only forced him to release her from his hold.
"Don’t you ever touch me," he warned, her eyes glowering so hard at him with hatred that Dante felt his heart skip a beat in fear.
Eva took a few steps from him, and when she was sure she’d made enough distance between them, she parted her lips to speak.
"I don’t know what made you think you could come and hug me like that as if everything was back to normal."
Dante was aware she was hurt.
"If I’d known this was going to happen, I would have told you sooner," he said, wiping his tears with the back of his hands.
"So you were planning on keeping it from me much longer?" She questioned, feeling rage bubble beneath her skin.
"I wanted to tell you everything," he said.
Eva scoffed at him.
