Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 772: Wolf Singularity
Deep under the ice caps, at a depth where the water pressure could crush steel into fine dinner plates.
Four leviathan sized Orca’s swam here, their sheer size causing the water to darken and compress on itself.
With every flap of their fins, the water was crushed and released with enough force that it was a small city.
These were the strongest orcas on this planet.
Their forms couldn’t be seen quite clearly because of how big they are and how the water acted around them.
One of them, the biggest, had its eyes glowing with an ominous icy light. Through the powers of his Orca heart and in coordination with hundreds of other weaker orcas around the globe, they were able to put up a snow storm that prevented them from being killed off by the many arkships parked in the star system.
But they knew that this was only for a little while. On the planet of the orcas, one of them must fall.
"They’re coming," A sentence left the mind of another orca in the form of sound waves.
Echo location.
The leviathan-sized beast turned in the water, facing a certain direction where many blinking lights were starting to appear.
The eyes of the four gigantic orcas showed worry and fierce fighting will.
How they wished this were some other conflict. In the face of this overwhelming force, they would have just surrendered.
Alas, these were the wolves, the orcas of the land. They too were affiliated with the law of Hunting, it was only inevitable that the two species would clash.
One must go.
"I’ll hold them off," said the female orca who had alerted them. Sound waves coalesced around her, forming visible sonic blades that rotated gently around her fins.
She opened her mouth, showing the neatly arranged set of sharp teeth designed to tear prey apart.
"They are like us, they move as a pack! You’ll not stand a chance," Another orca said as he swam forward.
This orca, unlike the rest, was not just black and white, there were a few shades of light blue here and there.
"I’ll follow you," He said, swimming to the front and not waiting for the female orca to respond.
How could he? Both he and the female were the parents of the most important creature in the Orcas’ race.
It wasn’t like this particular planet was theirs. The Orcas were a race that had already begun to touch upon faster-than-light travel.
A few more centuries and perhaps they might have achieved it; the Outer Hole Galaxy would be a mere stepping stone for them and they would be hard to take down.
Fortunately or unfortunately, they had met their fates on one of their planets.
This specific icy ocean planet was meant to be a hiding spot for the target until the heat died down.
They had underestimated just how determined the Wolf Master was, sniffing out the target all the way from the other side of the galaxy.
This was to be expected of someone who had literally hunted luck and many other strange beings.
Hunting his fellow Primordial was nothing.
The two leviathan Orcas, the female possessing the power of sound and the male having power over the waters, swam to the surface where the howls were coming from.
*BOOM!*
The sound of the sonic barrier being obliterated within the ocean reached the sensitive receptors of the Orcas.
The female orca roared, charging at the incoming projectile.
*BAM!*
Ben swooshed past her by a few meters, dodging all of her sonic blades and slamming straight into the male orca.
The hum of a clumsy giant spread through the ocean.
Ben was the initiator, multiple other wolves were coming already.
Jocelyn, Zion, Ralph, the pack leaders, and members of other powerful specialist hunting packs.
They zipped down the ocean water like torpedoes, their pointy ears and wet fur pointed back as they clashed with all the large Orcas.
For thousands of kilometres, the sound of wolf howls and Orca songs haunted the oceans.
The howls were so loud that they broke the ice caps and caused underwater earthquakes.
For the wolves, fighting creatures who were naturally larger than they were did not cause them any fear. They just thought of them as bigger prey.
It wasn’t the first time that wolves would hunt creatures that were bigger than them, and it definitely wouldn’t be the last.
The only thing that made this situation disadvantageous for the wolves was the aquatic nature of the Orcas.
But as it could be seen, the water did not stop them.
Ralph, still in his giant grey wolf form, joined other wolves in the attack against the leviathan-sized orcas.
His attention, however, was not on these leviathan orcas, it was on the distant figure of a young killer whale calf a few kilometres down.
Ralph paddled his paws and swam further down to the deepest parts of the ocean.
The Leviathans noticed him and chased. The storm orca, distracted by Ralph’s actions, got a little distracted.
This was a big mistake as the arkship commander above did not hesitate to rain down cannon fire the moment he saw an opening in the stormy sky.
A bright blue beam of cannon light shot down from the sky like judgment from heaven.
The bright blue light lit up thousands of kilometres of ocean space, frying the many orcas that had been in its vicinity.
At the moment of that bright flash, Ralph’s sensitive eyes caught sight of his target.
A little orca, young and healthy.
Its eyes, even though cute and filled with ignorance, burned with the same predatory yellow light that Ralph had.
The wails of Leviathans echoed behind Ralph, prompting him to continue on.
The water pressure pressed his grey fur on his body and his ears were folded without his consent. He kept pushing.
He was not going to assume that he could be faster than these orcas in the water. One should not mistake their large size for being slow. They were unnaturally fast, covering several kilometres in an instant.
The wolves that were attacking them could only latch on with their fangs and claws.
With an established target in sight, Ralph activated his Hunting Essence.
Something happened on this day, something that will be talked about for eons.
Something that all the wolves who were present can only describe as the first ascent of the wolf god.
Ralph’s abilities worked fascinatingly. It caused his body to adapt to the target he had set.
As long as the target possessed any certain advantages or physiological or elemental powers, his body would adapt to become the perfect hunting machine for that target.
Now, what if his target was a fellow Primordial like him?
This was something that Ralph had tried in the past before with Marcus and his other Primordial Colleagues. Unfortunately, he did not get their powers, but his power level adjusted and he obtained some temporary basic abilities that would be useful against their race.
This was different though. Ralph had activated Hunting Essence against another Primordial of Hunting like him.
In the depths of the ocean where the four leviathans were turning many wolves to meat paste and many other orcas were fighting for their lives, the bright yellow and grey light that surged from the Primordial Wolf was very blinding.
No one truly knew how it happened, in an environment where the orcas were supposed to have the locomotive advantage, Ralph somehow managed to reach the young Primordial Orca first.
After that, things became blurry for both the wolves and orcas. Especially the orcas, the only ones who could tell them more about this feeling would be the horses and those guys were still trying to pick themselves up wherever they were.
How it ended, not many would know as the rumours that would fly around after these days would be numerous within the wolf society.
The master of wolfkind did not care about the news of his success, true or false, all that he cared about was that he succeeded.
////
Three days later.
Smoke polluted the skies of the planet. The collective growls and howls covered an entire region, proving that the number of wolves here was far more than the ecosystem could manage.
Under the dark skies, one would occasionally see white or blue beams of light raining down from the skies.
The loud booms would reach the ears of the wolves later. The world was crumbling.
*STOMP!*
*STOMP!*
*STOMP!*
The cold and heavy steps of a heavy being disturbed the calmness of the atmosphere. Not that the world was calm anyways, but these footsteps were especially loud.
They carried with it the weight of an entire civilization and the owner of the steps walked with a distinct predatory style, perceived by those who were sensitive enough.
On top of the magic Shuttle that these steps were coming from, a lone man walked with majesty.
Having just walked out of the elevator compartment on top of the shuttle, he moved until he was standing at the very edge.
The man was large and tall, long grey hair tucked neatly behind his ears and clean beards.
Resting on his shoulders was a pure white wolf fur pelt, with the large upper jaw and head of a wolf resting on his left shoulder.
The white wolf pelt fluttered majestically under the influence of the polluted air, a reminder to all those who wished to challenge him.
His yellow eyes scanned the world below, seeing the army of wolves assembled on the ground and waiting for him.
On a transparent grey screen that appeared in the corner of his vision, some texts were bold and clear.
[Congratulations on achieving Singularity...]
