Chapter 132: More Mistakes

The past week has been extremely busy for Eva. Her tight schedule only became even tighter. It has only been two weeks since her comeback and it already feels like she has been working for the past year.

She attended countless events, photoshoots, and more signings of deals. Maxine had become even busier and Eva had to find an assistant.

"Do you need water?" Susan, Eva’s assistant asked, opening the bottled water and handing it over to her. "If you’re exhausted, we can leave now. I don’t think Maxine can make it back here again. It’s also getting so late. You have to leave home at 7am for tomorrow’s photoshoot."

Susan was a lady with black hair and almond black eyes. She had this kind of beauty that one wouldn’t be able to describe with the right words and Eva couldn’t help but admire her sometimes.

Eva sipped from the water bottle before handing it back to Susan. "Thank you." She quickly checked the time on her phone and saw that it was already clocking 11pm, almost midnight. "We can leave now but let me quickly say goodbye to Mr. Astor."

Mr. Astor was the organizer of the event. She saw him speaking to someone familiar but her memory of that person was vague since their back was turned to her.

"Excuse me," she said, interrupting them. "It’s been such a wonderful night but I have to leave now," she said.

"Of course. It’s not easy having a schedule like yours," said Mr. Astor with a smile that Eva couldn’t help but reciprocate. She turned to look at the man and she immediately recognized him.

Tyler Myka. He was the same man who’d spoken to her on the same night she’d seen Katherine having an affair with Joshua, one of the judges of the Top Model Awards.

"Eva. Long time no see," Tyler said with a bright smile that exposed his pearly white teeth. "Since you’re leaving, mind if I escort you?"

She blinked at him twice before shaking her head. "Not at all." 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Tyler gave Mr. Astor a curt nod before excusing himself.

"You always disappear and appear, and yet, your fame never dies," he said as they walked out of the building.

Susan was walking right behind them with all of Eva’s belongings.

"How do you do that?" He asked.

Eva stared at him with confusion marred on her face. "Do what?" She asked.

Tyler stared at her for a few seconds without saying anything.

Eva suddenly felt uncomfortable so she tore her gaze from him to focus on where she was going. The landscape was huge, and the cars were parked several feet away from the main building.

Walking towards it felt like taking a stroll at this point.

"Why did you want to escort me?" Eva asked.

She’d never had a real conversation with Tyler before, and they weren’t close enough for him to want to simply escort her without having something to say which was kept at the back of his mind.

Tyler’s face turned serious, his eyebrows resting on his temple while his gaze turned sharp.

He glanced behind where Susan was and Eva immediately understood.

"Can you excuse us for a few minutes please?" Eva asked, facing Susan.

The young woman immediately nodded in understanding before she walked away.

Once she was out of sight, Eva faced Tyler.

"You didn’t disappear because you were sick. You were attacked by Mr. De Rossi," said Tyler. He stared down at her, meeting her gaze. "But you need to be careful, that man has several tricks up his sleeve."

Eva’s eyes narrowed at him, not sure if she should be surprised that he knew the truth, or the fact that he knew the kind of man Mr. De Rossi was.

"And how do you know this?" She questioned. She didn’t know Tyler enough to think she would be able to trust him.

"I just know it," he simply shrugged. "But how I find out isn’t the most important thing right now. You need to be extremely careful."

They stared at each other for the longest time, holding eye contact that if anyone passing saw them, they would think they were a couple.

Dante saw this and wasn’t happy about it at all.

He was hiding behind his car, this time, trying to put more effort into hiding so that Eva wouldn’t come to him to ask for the divorce papers she’d given him a week ago.

He saw Tyler look at her with such simple eyes. But he knew those eyes were just looking, they were admiring her.

He watched as he put his arm around her waist, leading her towards the car and he instantly lost it.

Dante could only see red now as he marched towards where they were and landed a jaw-crushing punch on the latter’s face.

The scene was certainly uncalled for since neither Eva nor Tyler saw Dante marching towards them in the first place.

"Dante!! Stop it!!" Eva yelled, but Dante didn’t stop at all.

He punched Tyler several more times on the face until the latter started to bleed.

"Don’t you dare touch my wife!!" He barked, gripping his collar tight and yanking him up.

Eva had no choice but to raise her gown and aim a kick at Dante’s calf, making sure that her heels dug into his skin a bit.

He hissed in pain, his grip on Tyler loosening.

She glared at him so hard, her hatred evident as she rushed towards Tyler, helping him up.

The commotion had already gained a few attention, and now everyone was looking.

Eva couldn’t help but bite her teeth in rage as she thought of the scandals this event was going to give her.

Eva quickly helped Tyler into her car while Susan came rushing towards her.

"Are you seriously going to leave with that man?" Dante questioned.

"And why not?" Eva snapped. "I don’t know why you did this or what sort of drug you’re high on, but don’t you ever come close to me ever again, Dante!"
