Revenge Wears Red Lipstick-Chapter 134: Katherine Is Back
Eva didn’t acknowledge his words and resumed walking towards the hospital.
Unbeknownst to the newly divorced couple, a woman had watched them for a long time.
"Are you satisfied now? Can we leave?" Marcus questioned Katherine who was glaring into Eva’s back so hard that if she had enough free will, she would gladly grab a knife and stab it into her without thinking twice about it.
"Hold on," Katherine said, her gaze shifting to Dante, who was absentmindedly standing near his car. "If my hunch is right, those were divorce papers he just signed, which means that those two are divorced."
"So what?" Marcus questioned her suspiciously. "What are you planning on doing about that?"
"Will you relax? You’re acting all tense. If your voice gets any louder, Dante might hear us," she said, silently gritting her teeth.
"Well, I didn’t bring us all the way here just so you could spy on Eva. We have a family to build, Kath."
Katherine couldn’t help but roll her eyes back at Marcus’s words.
He’d managed to pull her out of Lexora while the officials continued to search for her.
Qynland might be a different country entirely, but she still needed to be careful about roaming around unless she wanted to be caught so soon.
Marcus had been agitated since the moment she stepped out of their house with the sudden goal to track Eva down.
They tracked her from the event where Dante had punched Tyler in the face to the hospital.
"Fine, we can leave," Katherine said.
She had nothing in her name anymore. All her assets had been confiscated, so she had to listen to Marcus since he was the sole provider for her now.
Her parents had already abandoned her with a clear warning not to contact them ever again and now, she had no choice but to stick to Marcus as of the moment, but he was starting to become overbearing.
Together, they returned to their home which was at least an hour’s ride from the hospital.
Ian had been in charge of taking care of his little sister. It was something that Marcus thought was odd since Ian was only seven years old, but Katherine had assured Ian would be able to. All they did was prepare her bottle, just enough for the time they would be away.
"It’s already late, you should shower and go rest," said Marcus, once they were done with dinner.
"What about you?" Katherine asked suspiciously. Marcus didn’t tell her where he was getting his money from, and when she asked, he would simply say he was working without giving any proper details.
"I need to take care of some things for work. Don’t wait for me," he responded.
He headed to the other room and closed the door right behind him.
Ian had already retired for the night, same with his little sister, making the house feel quieter than it did during the day.
With his saved-up money, Marcus was able to buy a reasonably big house for them.
Even with how overbearing he was, Katherine couldn’t help but still be grateful to him.
She headed towards their own bedroom and closed the door.
She lunged across the vanity mirror, picking up her wipes to wipe off her makeup.
A faint line appeared across her face once she was done. She trailed the line across her face, her expression hardened as memories started to fill her mind.
She shook her head but nearly jumped out of her seat when she saw Marcus who was staring at her, while his body leaned on the door frame.
"You still think about it, don’t you?" He asked as he strode towards her. He leaned towards her, making eye contact through their reflection in the mirror.
"I can’t simply forget it, you know?" She picked up more wipes to clean up her face, but no matter how much she wiped, the scar still stained her face.
Marcus smiled. "You shouldn’t try so hard. But—"
"I know what you’re going to say now, but I don’t want to answer your questions." She stood up from her seat, took off her clothes, and wrapped herself in a towel all the while Marcus was staring at her in silence.
He sighed before he picked the documents he had come for and left the room.
At the hospital,
Eva wasn’t feeling too well. Susan noticed it and asked her to retire for the night. They still had an early photoshoot the next day and it was almost midnight.
Susan couldn’t help but curse at Dante. If it weren’t for his uncontrolled anger, they wouldn’t be at the hospital right now.
Unfortunately for her, Eva wasn’t feeling unwell because she needed rest.
After Dante signed the divorce papers, Eva suddenly started feeling she was doing the wrong thing.
This was exactly what she’d wanted. She’d already lied to the public that she and Dante were divorced, so it would only make sense to get the divorce proceedings done as fast as possible.
After the divorce, she would focus on destroying both him and his father. She’d asked him to explain himself earlier, because a tiny part of her still believed that Dante loved her, and his father was holding something against him, but he didn’t say anything.
Eva sighed, but instead of feeling relaxed, her shoulders tensed.
"Ms. Montclair, your friend is awake." The voice of a nurse pulled Eva out of her thoughts. "You can go see him now." The nurse added with a smile.
Eva gave a quick nod before she rushed into the room, only to find Tyler staring at the door, as if he was expecting her.
"I’m sorry about this. I didn’t know that my ex-husband would launch such an attack on you," she immediately apologized, even though there was still a chance that he would sue her.
"I don’t think your ex-husband liked it when he saw you with me," said Tyler, his voice a little hoarser than usual. "Maybe he was jealous."
