Rewriting Her Destiny With The Lycan Kings-Chapter 73: They Have Decided To Mark Her
Two Days Ago...
The chaos had settled. for now. Seraphina had successfully captured Maldrak, sealing him away in the Eternal Jail. Though his imprisonment was only temporary, for the time being, he was locked away in one of the most secure prisons in existence.
Zara lay unconscious on the ground, her body battered and bruised. She looked worn out, her condition resembling that of a wounded warrior after battle.
A sudden sting of pain jolted through her, forcing a low whimper from her lips as she slowly regained consciousness. As her eyes fluttered open, shock coursed through her veins.
The battlefield around her was in complete disarray, scorched earth, broken weapons, and the lingering scent of blood and magic. It took her a moment to process what she was seeing.
Memories came rushing back.
She remembered the powerful force that had dragged her into the river, the chilling visuals that refused to leave her mind... and a face, her own face. That was the last thing she recalled before everything went dark.
"You’re awake."
The sudden voice behind her made her jolt. Heart pounding, she turned around. only to be met with a sight that left her utterly speechless.
Seraphina stood before her, a gentle smile on her lips. Her presence radiated an aura so powerful, so commanding, that it instinctively pulled Zara into submission. Before she could stop herself, her head dipped in a respectful bow.
But that wasn’t what left her breathless.
Seraphina looked exactly like her.
Zara’s heart pounded erratically, confusion gripping her like an iron fist.
"I know you have countless questions," Seraphina spoke, her voice calm yet firm as she took a step closer. "And I believe I have a responsibility to answer them."
Zara’s body tensed. What exactly was she talking about? 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
Seraphina smiled knowingly, as if reading her thoughts.
"Yes, Zara. I’m talking about your arrival here. the path you unknowingly wrote in your unwritten novel."
Zara’s breath caught in her throat.
Her mind went blank. She didn’t expect to hear such a revelation at this point.
What...?
Seraphina approached her slowly, placing a hand on Zara’s head. And in an instant. everything unraveled.
Everything. Everything from the beginning begins to unfold in front of her eyes. The memories flooded her mind like a dam breaking apart.
The Knight brothers.
Maldrak.
The misunderstandings.
The battle.
Then the vision of seraphina’s death.
And then, the truth.
Zara gasped as the final revelation struck her like lightning. She was Seraphina’s incarnation.
A single tear slipped down her cheek as the realization set in. Everything she had gone through. all of it was tied to a past she never even knew existed.
Seraphina withdrew her hand, her eyes filled with quiet understanding.
"They killed you?"
The words left Zara’s lips before she could stop them. Her chest ached, the pain clawing at her insides. It was unbearable, suffocating.
Seraphina’s expression didn’t change. "It wasn’t their intention." Her voice remained gentle, yet firm. "The corruption surrounding them forced their hands. If I were in their place... maybe I would have made the same choice."
She said as she forced a light smile on her face, the pain behind her eyes was clearly visible.
Zara clenched her fists. She couldn’t hold herself from asking.
"Are they... really the incarnations of the Knight Kings?" Her voice wavered. The thought alone made her stomach twist. She couldn’t accept it, couldn’t accept that they had once been the ones to take her life.
Seraphina’s gaze darkened slightly.
"They are the Knight brothers." A faint edge of possessiveness laced her tone. "My mates."
Zara noticed it instantly.
And it didn’t sit well with her.
"The past separated us. Destiny was twisted by those who sought to destroy us. We cannot change what happened. But we can change what comes next." Seraphina’s voice was calm, but her words carried undeniable weight.
She met Zara’s gaze, unwavering.
"You, Zara. you can help me rewrite my destiny with them. I want them back. And you are going to help me do it."
Zara stared at her in silence.
"In return, I will help you return to your real world. the world where you truly belong. Away from this chaos. Back to the peaceful life you once knew."
Seraphina’s voice was steady, filled with conviction. She meant every word.
And for a moment, Zara felt something she had been waiting for all this time.
The chance to go home.
Yet... the joy she should have felt never came.
Instead, a hollow, empty feeling settled inside her chest.
She felt dead. Completely, utterly dead inside.
Seraphina continued, her lips curling into a knowing smile. "And all you have to do is something very simple..."
She began explaining the plan.
But Zara barely heard her.
Her mind was elsewhere, drowning in a realization far heavier than anything she had ever faced.
The time to leave this world was nearing.
And somehow... that thought terrified her more than anything else.

At Midnight.
Zara sat on the edge of the bed, her hands clenched into nervous fists. Her fingers trembled as she pressed them together, her knuckles turning white from the tension. No matter how hard she tried to steady herself, the weight of their confession pressed down on her like an unbearable force.
She never expected this.
Not after everything they had been through.
Her heart pounded against her ribs, each beat echoing the overwhelming emotions swirling inside her. Love. They said they loved her. The words had left their lips with such certainty, yet they only deepened the storm inside her.
After her conversation with Seraphina, she knew, this was going to be a problem.
Their confession clashed with the deal she had made.
Her gaze darted toward the door, her pulse quickening. After their sudden declaration, they had brought her to their chamber, asking her to wait for them. They promised to return soon, but she had no idea what was going through their minds. The uncertainty gnawed at her, sending a sharp ache through her temples.
"What happened to them suddenly? Do they really love me? Is that even possible?"
Doubt filled her, threatening to consume what little clarity she had left.
"No... it can’t be real. They see me as Seraphina. That’s why they feel this way. They believe I am their long-lost mate, the one they once loved and still love now."
Her chest tightened as the thought settled in.
"But I’m not her. Not entirely. She still exists, and she is the one they desire... not me."
She paced back and forth, her bare feet brushing against the cool floor. The tension in her legs built up, a numbing sensation creeping up her limbs. But she couldn’t stop. She had to keep moving, anything to distract herself from the emotions threatening to break through.
She couldn’t allow herself to believe in their confession.
If she did, it would only bring pain.
And yet, no matter how much she tried to convince herself... her heart refused to listen.
As she paced back and forth, lost in the whirlwind of her thoughts, a sound made her freeze in place.
Footsteps.
They echoed through the corridor, slow and deliberate.
Her breath hitched. The rhythm of those steps was familiar. too familiar. It sent a shiver down her spine, not out of fear, but out of an unsettling sense of recognition.
But it wasn’t them.
Her heart pounded harder, a sudden alert flashing through her senses. Something was off.
She turned toward the door just as the heavy silence of the chamber was broken by a slow creak.
And then, she turned and saw.
Not who she had expected.

At the Meeting Hall
Denzal and Devonte stood near the entrance of the grand hall, watching as the senior healer exited after giving them his final advice. The air was thick with anticipation, an unspoken intensity passing between the brothers as they exchanged a knowing look.
As they stepped into the dimly lit corridor, Devonte turned to Denzal, his voice laced with excitement and curiosity.
"Denzal, we made the right decision, didn’t we? You’re not going to back out at the last minute, are you?"
A slow smile stretched across Denzal’s lips.
"I won’t, my brother. This is the best decision we’ve ever made. Whatever happened in the past, we fucked up a big time. But not this time. This time, we made it right. Before the chaos that’s coming... We complete the ritual. The one that was meant to happen long ago."
Devonte’s eyes gleamed, a satisfied grin forming on his face. Finally,
There was no more hesitation. No more doubt.
Tonight, they would claim what was theirs.
With renewed determination, they rushed toward their chamber. where the one they loved awaited them.
Tonight was the night.
The night they would mark her as theirs. Officially. Irrevocably. Forever.
If only they knew...
That this decision would set off a chain of events that would push someone to the edge of a deadly abyss.
