Rewriting Her Destiny With The Lycan Kings-Chapter 78: The Fight To Conquer Them
"No greeting for your mother?"
The Moon Goddess spoke in a calm tone, even though she knew exactly why her daughter was furious.
"You blocked my way into her mind? Why?"
Seraphina nearly yelled, her fury threatening to shake the entire hall.
"Yes, I did." Her mother’s voice remained composed, almost demure, which only fueled Seraphina’s anger. "And the reason? You have no business invading her mind at this moment. Do you?"
Seraphina’s rage burned hotter. It felt as if she were spitting fire.
"She was having a mating session with my mates! She was about to become their mate officially. and you’re asking me what my business is? Have you lost your mind, Mother?"
Her voice echoed through the hall, the force of her fury making the ground tremble. She clenched her fists, trying to hold back the angry tears threatening to spill.
The Moon Goddess, the almighty ruler of fate, slowly rose from her throne. With an expression of deadly calm, she stepped forward. Though her face remained serene, the air around them grew heavy with the weight of her displeasure.
"Whatever is happening there is happening as fate has decided. There is nothing we can do about it." She met Seraphina’s burning gaze with unwavering firmness. "And I will not let you alter what has already been written. You must obey your destiny."
Seraphina let out a bitter laugh, her fury only intensifying.
"Destiny? The destiny that was decided? Are you seriously saying that?" She stepped closer, her red eyes blazing with barely contained rage. "You don’t have the right to speak about destiny, Mother. You lost that right the moment you failed to protect your own daughter’s fate."
Her voice trembled with years of pain, her suffering pressing down on her like a suffocating weight. The tears she had fought so hard to suppress finally began to fall, burning like fire as they rolled down her cheeks.
"You just sat there and watched when my life crumbled under manipulation. You stood by as I was executed by my own mates. when I had done nothing wrong! I was trying to protect the kingdom, trying to find a way to live with all three of them. But one of them betrayed me, twisted the truth, and I was killed unfairly."
Her voice cracked with raw agony.
"The dream life I built with them shattered in front of me. And you... you did nothing. You just watched. And now, you have the audacity to tell me to obey fate?"
Her final words erupted in a scream, sending shockwaves through the hall. The ground quaked beneath their feet, unable to withstand the force of her fury.
The Moon Goddess met her daughter’s wrath with an unwavering gaze. She, too, stepped closer, the hint of fire in her silver eyes matching Seraphina’s rage.
"You stand before me in this state because of your own choices, Seraphina." Her voice was firm, steady, as if delivering an undeniable truth. "You carved your own path. When destiny had laid out another future for you, you made a different decision. You sacrificed yourself for the kingdom you built. You rejected the life that was meant for you."
The ground rumbled in fear beneath her words, as if even the earth trembled before the Goddess’s wrath. Seraphina’s fury flickered for the first time, uncertainty creeping in.
She opened her mouth to argue, but her mother’s next words struck like a blade to the heart.
"You chose this."
Her voice was laced with unshakable authority.
"You chose this fate when you sacrificed yourself to protect your mates from your other mate. You sold your wolf first. Then you sold your soul to the dark abyss. For what? To shield the Lycan Kings from Maldark. Have you forgotten that?"
Seraphina’s breath hitched. She looked down, the weight of her past suffocating her.
The Moon Goddess moved even closer, closing the distance between them. Their eyes locked.
"You swore an oath to protect the kingdom and the Lycan clan for the rest of your existence. You bound your fate to Maldark. And in that moment, you willingly severed your divine connection to them."
Her words cut deeper than any blade.
"You forfeited your right to be reincarnated. You gave up your right to be born into this world again. And now, you dare say I did nothing to protect you?"
Seraphina’s tears fell freely now, dripping onto the trembling ground.
She remembered that fateful day. The words she had spoken to the God of Death still echoed in her mind:
"I don’t want to be reborn. I want to be a guardian soul to my mates. I want to be their protector in every lifetime. Make me an immortal spirit. Give me the power to defeat Maldark."
She had chosen power over rebirth. She had willingly traded her mortal existence for the strength to hold Maldark at bay. She had sacrificed her very soul for them.
And now, that very choice had become the unbreakable chain that bound her.
The Moon Goddess’s voice softened, but it carried the weight of an undeniable truth.
"You severed your fate with them the moment you cut yourself off from the mortal world. You refused to be reborn. You watched them die and be reborn, lifetime after lifetime. But when they returned, they carried no memory of you. No connection to you. Because you are no longer of their world."
Her voice was unwavering, final.
"You are nothing more than a ghost of their past. one they have never remembered. Until she came."
Seraphina’s knees nearly buckled under the weight of those words.
Her fate had never been stolen.
She had given it away. She had willingly given up. Yet now, she wanted it back again. She longed for the life that was once supposed to be hers forever. But this time, it was far more difficult.
"She is their true mate in this lifetime. She holds the key to their destiny. And she holds the power to change yours as well." The Moon Goddess’s voice carried a deep weight.
"But it wouldn’t be possible for you to take what’s hers. You cannot steal her mates from her," she reasoned, trying to drill the truth into her daughter’s mind.
"But... but, Mother, she was my incarnation. She holds the power of my soul. She is me. the same face, voice, and character. Everything about her was me. The reason she came here was because of me. There wouldn’t be any problem if she returned to where she came from. Why can’t you help me do that?"
Seraphina asked, her voice quivering, almost on the verge of tears. The fury that had once consumed her was now gone, leaving only the desperate wish to return to her mates.
"And you are well aware of what her return truly means, aren’t you, Seraphina?"
The Moon Goddess’s voice carried a scolding tone, causing Seraphina to lower her gaze. She couldn’t see her mother’s eyes. That question struck her soul like a dagger.
"You knew she was coming, Seraphina. She came to help you. She came to release you from the Abyss you’ve been bound to for millennia. She is the only key to rewriting both your fate and the Lycan Kings’ fate. I will not allow you to alter her purpose."
Her words were firm, almost a warning.
"She will fulfill the purpose for which she was born. You cannot manipulate her into doing anything else. The day is not far off. prepare yourself to meet your destiny soon."
Seraphina shook her head, denying her mother’s words. She was not ready to accept this. Standing tall, her face hardened with resolve, she locked eyes with the Moon Goddess.
"No, Mother. I can’t do that. I won’t do that. I’ve sacrificed my happiness once before, but I won’t do it again. I want my mates back. And I’ll do anything to get them back. Even if that means going against you."
Her voice was determined as she dashed out of the room. The Moon Goddess stared after her daughter, a long sigh escaping her lips. Her face held a multitude of emotions, but most of all. concern.
"Then I can’t stop what the consequences of your decision will be, Seraphina. The ship has already sailed far beyond. It cannot be changed now."
She whispered to herself as she slowly returned to her throne, a heaviness in her heart. She was the goddess of this world, but even she couldn’t control what was unfolding.
The one in charge of this era was...
Zara. She was the one who would change the entire existence of the world. The one who would rewrite its destiny.
And no one, not even Seraphina, could change that.
