Rise of the Crusader-Chapter 233 Guest In The Mansion I
Meanwhile, after taking care of the mission given to them by the academy, Aiden and Devon returned to the mansion.
There was a smile on both of their faces, and as they walked to the living room, the smile on their faces only seem to widen.
"That was amazing! Did you see how I took care of the beast, it was like taking candy from a baby." Devon blurted.
As he recalled what happened back in the city, there was a prideful look on his face.
Aiden, who was standing close to Devon, nodded his head upon hearing Devon. He had witnessed the whole show and Devon had performed wonderfully.
Stealing the egg of the two-headed eagle was no easy task, especially when the eagle was A rank meta beast. Not many metahumans were capable of pulling off such a stunt, yet Devon took care of it very easily.
It was like he had said… Taking candy from a baby.
"You also didn't bad, Aiden. Those heroes didn't stand a chance against the portals you created to their world." Devon said.
While Devon's task had been to steal the egg of a two-headed eagle, Aiden mission involved sending A rank meta beast from the city to their outside world.
This was also no easy task, as the metahumans in the outside world had the so-called guardians of society In place to prevent meta beasts from coming into the outside.
The task to prevent meta-beasts into the real world was taken as an utmost priority by both the heroes league and the government. They had resources in place that prohibited meta-beasts, and this was why only a few were aware of the existence of the beasts.
"We should really thank Raphael because all this wouldn't have been possible without him," Aiden exclaimed.
A nod of acknowledgment came from Devon as he heard Aiden. None of what they accomplished today would have been possible if it weren't for Raphael.
In fact, the fees he collected for the system he created were more like a bargain.
As Aiden and Devon began to walk around the mansion, they didn't have to search for too long before they came in contact with Raphael.
"There you are, we have been looking all over for you, Raphael," Aiden uttered with a smile on his face.
However, just as he moved his gaze away from Raphael, the smile on his face vanished immediately.
Staring at the person laying on the couch close to Raphael, Aiden's heart raced quickly. He stared at the woman on the couch who was covered in bruises for a few seconds, and then rushed towards her.
"Ca-Camille! What happened?!" There was a concern and at the same time rage present in Aiden's voice as he stared at Camille from top to bottom.
There was barely an area around Camille's body that didn't have bruises. Every inch was covered in bruises, and as if that weren't infuriating, Aiden could still see some scars around her.
"Which bastard did this!!!" Aiden exclaimed.
There was fury written all over his face, and with no doubt, if Camille was to give a name, Aiden was going to uncover the whole city, so long as he was able to find that person nothing else mattered.
"Answer me, Camille! Who did this to you? I promise I won't spare them."
"Whether beasts or mankind, I promise that I will see to it that I have his or her head in my hand before the end of the day,"
Aiden stated.
Camille's lips curl into a frown as she saw the seriousness on Aiden's face. She could tell that he meant everything he said, but after giving it some thought, she shook her head.
"It's nothing, Aiden," Camille said.
Responding to Camille, Aiden stared at her from top to bottom, and as his eyes came in contact with hers, the look on his face clearly suggested that he was wondering if she were hit in the head.
"You don't have to say the name, just give me a description of the person or the beasts that harmed you this way," Aiden said with his hands clenched into tight fists.
Aiden didn't rule meta beasts out of the suspect, as this was New age city where dreadful beasts roamed around, and deemed this place to be their home.
So, it might as well be one of them.
"It was a beast isn't it," Aiden muttered, seeing how Camille had reacted once the meta beasts were brought up.
The frown on Camille's face deepened upon as she stared at Aiden. Aiden was hell-bent on her, and knowing full well what was going to happen if he decides to make that move, Camille turned towards Raphael.
It was barely a glance, but Raphael somehow understood what it meant, and before Aiden would decide to set out on an out slaughter, Raphael made the move.
"Y-" Aiden stammered.
He stared at Raphael who just hit him in the back of the head, and a second after, he collapsed to the ground.
Staring at Aiden, who was now unconscious, Camille heaved a deep breath. She couldn't help but be relieved by what happened.
If Aiden was to make a move on that beast, there was no way he would be making it alive.
As Camille moved her gaze to Raphael, her eyebrows furrowed upon seeing the bone-chilling smile that was on his face.
She shook her head, and then closed her eyes.
"If you need anything, inform Gus, and it would be brought to you," Raphael said in a cold voice.
Gus was able to retort to Raphael, but before it would even get the chance to speak, Raphael lifted it from the shoulder and placed it on the couch close to Camille.
And once Gus was in front of Camille, he walked away immediately.
As Devon stood in the third living room of the mansion, he stared at Gus, who seem to have a deep frown on his face, before then turning towards Aiden.
"You don't have to stay, Devon. You can leave if you want to." Said, Camille.
While no words came from Devon after Camille spoke, he moved from where he was.
