Ezra began by activating the skill that intrigued him most.

Waiting to be dazzled, Ezra could only be stunned speechless.

Creasing his nose, Ezra activated it once again, but the same thing happened.

Only this time, he caught sight of a thin system message hanging at the top edge of his vision.

{Sovereign Space cannot be activated inside your dominion}

Lightly scratching his chin, Ezra nods.

’So, I can’t activate sovereign space while in this universe’

Looking at the description, it became obvious why.

<Sovereign Space> :: Overlap a space with a part of your universe and claim sovereignty over it.

He was trying to overlap a part of his universe to gain control of another part of his universe that he already controlled, so of course it didn’t work.

Done with that, he moves onto the next skill; <Omni-Subordination>

He’d already tested this skill on Frederick but only had a rough understanding of it due to the pressing matters at the time.

Now, Ezra began by testing the distance of applicability.

Activating it with the intent of sending it to his mom and the five siblings that were many cities away from Quartez at this time, Ezra tweaked it to read like so;

And then sent it.

Waiting to confirm its effects, Ezra looked over the other skills he had yet to test.

’Mind cloud, Conceal, Recreate, Aurora energy, and...oh, I completely forgot about Gatekeeper!’

To think there were so many skills he hadn’t used until now.

A minute had passed yet Ezra felt no different, making him wonder whether it hadn’t reached them.

T confirm, he opens the [Subordinates] function to confirm, but he finds the contents far more shocking than he expected.

[Do you have problems with it]

’No’ Ezra shook his head. ’None at all’

Ezra had simply wanted to confirm how it had happened, beyond that, he wasn’t bothered.

Still, the numbers surprised him. It hadn’t expected it to take so many people just to push him through a minor rank.

[The about of subordinates needed for every realm increases exponentially. So from my calculations, even if you made everyone in the Hallostar galaxy your subordinate, it wouldn’t be enough to reach nascent rank]

[Indeed] Zydrax concurred. [To go beyond nascent rank, you’re going to need a more than a star cluster worth of subordinates]

Ezra let off a small chuckle. ’Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, we’ll cross that bridge when we get there’

With that, Ezra activated <Mind cloud>. With its method of usage imprinted into him, he didn’t have any problems designating a subordinate he wished to speak to.

’Frederick’

’What?! Who?!’

The response was one of utter shock, Frederick almost fell off his seat.

’Frederick, it me. Ezra’

’Ezra?’ the poor man was astounded. ’What’s this now?’

’I can now speak with you telepathically’

Ezra exited Fredericks mind and went to another person.

’If she accepted it the prompt, then...

Just as he expected, Ezra was able to reach to his mother telepathically.

She had indeed accepted the prompt.

’Mother!’ Ezra exclaimed.

’Who?! What? Ezra...?’ she thought.

’Mother, its Ezra, I can speak with you telepathically like this now’

’Does this mean you’ll be peeping into my thoughts?’

’Not at all mother. That isn’t possible for me’

’By the way, I saw a floating slate of words telling me to bind my soul with yours, the girls told me they saw it as well, was that your doing?’

Making some small talk after that, Ezra deactivated the skill, arriving in space a moment later with <sovereign movement>, he casts <Conceal>, focusing only on Orion.

Like a lie, the space around it began to fold and before long, the planet disappeared from view.

Utilizing <sovereign movement>, Ezra arrives in Quartez just fine, proving that <conceal> didn’t work on him, though that was obviously expected.

Returning to space, Ezra activates <mind cloud> once again and says hi to Roxanne and Velora, proving that <conceal> did not obstruct <mind cloud>

Right after, he activates <Gatekeeper>, and the surrounding space seems to melt like a paint from a canvas, giving way for an exit to the main universe, which proves to be faster than <Absolute Induction>.

Trying to activate <mind cloud>, Ezra finds it grayed out, unusable as all his subordinates were in his own universe, thus proving that <mind cloud> couldn’t work across universes.

With that confirmed, Ezra returns to his universe and deactivates <conceal>, before then activating <Aurora energy>.

This one surprised him. "Oh"

Aurora was the base form of the universe and the purest form of energy, and as a result, could be used to constitute life in conjunction <Recreate>.

With it he could create people, plants, beasts, planets, and even stars of different kinds.

Meaning, he could use it to make dead soil fertile or grow exotic plants in mere moments, change terrain and alter weather conditions.

Basically, <aurora energy> allowed him to shift matter into other forms.

Best yet, every day, more of it was generated, though abysmal, it gave him another way to populate his universe!

So while he wasn’t sure how the amount of the aurora energy used was calculated, he didn’t have to worry about running out!

The sheer versatility made of these two skills made him instantly nominate them his best skills yet!

Putting it use, he returns to Quartez, and lays a wave of aurora energy over the ground and uses little of it to even it out and clean off whatever blood that remained, making it looking untouched before then using the rest to have fruits and foodstuffs sprout instantly.

After that, with the wave of energy still remaining, Ezra reduces the harvest period until the food materializes.

Thus covering much of the land in the riches of newly ripen fruits.

Although, only a portion of the land bore harvest as the aurora energy had finished before they could bear harvest.

Activating <Recreate> once more, Ezra focused very little into his palm and then willed a pen-the likes he’d seen in Sidals hands-into creation.

"Wow"

With that, skill testing is concluded.

Settled down, Ezra begins ruminating over miscellaneous things to be done when something pops into his mind.

Calling Zydrax, he answers soon afterwards.

Without greeting, Ezra threw his question.

"How much of my cultivation was lost when the astral beast attacked me?"

[What are you talking about?] Zydrax was perplexed.

"The astral energy that hit me, how much of my cultivation did it destroy?" Ezra reiterated.

[There was no astral energy, your cultivation base is intact] Zydrax replied. [Are you sure it hit you?]

"I’m sure. I know what I felt"

[This is interesting] Zydrax remarked. [Give me a minute]

A minute later.

<Ezra, you called> Viprus asked.

"I did?"

[I called him here] Zydrax announced. [He should know more about what happened]

<What is he referring to>

With a fast tongue, Ezra brings Viprus up to speed.

<Oh that>

"You know something about this?" Ezra inquired.

<Yes, whilst I was arranging planets, I was surprised to see a small part of the universe filled with astral energy, but I brushed it aside to complete my work> he said. <I didn’t say anything because I thought it was a natural phenomenon>

"Wait a second" says Ezra with a brow raised. "How did you know what Astral energy looks like?"

<The Hallostar galaxy has met its end more than once at the hands of astral beasts> Viprus replied. <One time, it was even a star eater that chanced on the galaxy>

"Ouch"

<Ouch indeed. After such encounters, I was able to easily distinguish astral energy>

"That’s quite something" Ezra said. "Shall we go to where you saw the astral energy?"

Using <Sovereign Movement>, Ezra makes the suggestion and instantly teleports to said place.

<This is the place>

Arriving in a part of the universe a length away from the conglomeration of planets, Ezra could see the thin lines of astral energy coagulating and separating.

It was not much, but it was most definitely there.

[Well, if it isn’t another damning surprise] Zydrax chimes in. [It seems the energy that hit you was simply incorporated into this universe]

"But this universe is in my soul space, does this mean I can absorb astral energy?" Ezra inquires.

[We can’t be sure of that yet but one thing is definitely true, in this way, you’re immune to astral energy] Zydrax spoke slowly.
