Chapter 423: Stellar Introduction

Seven rank five Transcendents converged around Ezra while arranging themselves in the line of a semi-circle, watching Ezra with high alertness.

Therefore, they couldn’t help but be startled when a Scythe appeared in his hands within the time it took blink.

Making a few spins, Ezra takes his stance with a bright smile on his face.

"Lets begin"

On cue, the Transcendents rushed towards Ezra, aiming to confuse him.

In the first place, Ezra didn’t to a prolonged battle, neither was he going for close combat.

Else, he wouldn’t have brought out an astral weapon.

His intent was to finish things in one clean attack.

Without further ado, Ezra channeled his darkness affinity into Skyfall, utliIizing a good amount of energy before letting off a swing.

Instead of letting of a slash, it let off a fog of darkness so large it immediately covered the podium, the watching Nascents and stretched beyond, but was blocked by the barrier set up beforehand, else it would have covered a part of the audience as well.

But it left the audience with nothing to look at except a thick black fog.

All the Transcendents found themselves unable to pierce through the layer of fog even after enhancing their eyesight with energy.

Three seconds in, the nascents quickly disperse a large portion of the fog, annoyed.

Seconds after this happened, the rest of the fog is dispersed.

With this, the familiar marble podium came into view.

Only that this time, all the rank fives were laying on the floor, with the majority of them having passed out, while those conscious clutched their body in pain.

Such a sight threw the audience into a flurry, with people making several speculations in tones of excitement and amazement.

With most of the rank five and rank six having being on a number missions, Ezra’s method of attack did not affect their view on it at all.

They knew how unpredictable combat situations could be.

Therefore, this sort of attack method was rather favoured for it’s effectiveness.

But that wasn’t even the most important part.

All the rank fives had all been defeated in less than thirty seconds!

Regardless of tactics, rank fives could still run or group up to increase their power to either mount an attack or defend.

Yet, they were defeated so quickly!

It was definitely something eye-opening for the audience, who chatted about it in excitement.

"I didn’t even see anything!"

"Me neither!"

"Did anyone see what happened?"

Watching this, the other Nascents were making chatter of their own.

"Did you see it?" one asked in surprise.

"I did"

While others were unable look beyond the fog, the nascents were able to, and they saw what Ezra did under the cover of darkness.

As the fog set in, moved at breakneck speeds, attacking the first Transcendent with his fists, having dropped the Scythe somewhere.

Landing a flurry of punches, he knocks out the first Transcendent within a second.

During the time they cleared out a portion of the fog, Ezra raced to each Transcendent.

Using the darkness to his advantage, he knocks them unconscious with fast and heavy punches to the face and stomach, ultimately knocking them unconscious.

The strategy itself was simple, only that Ezra’s speed surprised them.

He was faster than the typical First step nascent.

Adding to that, his elemental affinities had also been considerably condensed as it gave the nascents slight difficulties before they could see through it.

—--------

Medics quickly came on stage and took the rank five Transcendents away for treatment.

Among them was the familiar figure of Evanol, sprawled on the floor, unconscious.

Other than the excited audience, there was no disruption since after all, such an outcome was expected from the start.

Thanks to his last performance, a few more Transcendents joined in to fight him, making up to a total of seventeen.

Not being one to disappoint, Ezra permits them to come on stage just as before.

To this, the Nascents were a bit surprised.

"It’s one thing to defeat rank fives, but taking on seventeen rank six won’t be easy for a first step nascent"

Other elders nodded in unison.

At this point, Vera, Evanols patron, let out thoughts of her own.

"So, how do you think it will end?"

The Nascent rubs his fingers together.

"He’s already used that large scale darkness attack, so he can’ t have a lot of energy left, but his superior will give him an edge. So he will win"

With that, the Nascents turned their attention to Ezra.

The rank six Transcendents steps on the podium, guarding themselves more cautiously having witnessed the events of the last bout.

The battle soon commenced.

Contrary to the wishes of the audience, Ezra utliIizes the same tactic and coveres the stage in a fog of darkness once more.

This time, he made sure the fog was a notch wider.

This time, the nascents had moved themselves outside the barrier so as not to be affected, so there was no disturbance.

Prepared for the attack, the Transcendents utilized a combined attack to disperse the fog, while a section of them awaited Ezra’s assault.

This act earned them cheers from the audience.

But the cheers did not last long.

Because just as they dispersed a large part of the fog, a thick layer of ice embraces the podium, freezing their legs with it, but a few managed to evade the attack.

Alarmed, the Transcendents are forced to quickly shift their focus to the sudden attack.

At this, Ezra wills the fog of darkness to dissipate, giving the audience a clear view of the podium.

Seeing the nascents stuck in ice, the audience is shocked, and before they could gets all it all over with, Ezra spots the Transcendents that evaded the attack and readies another attack.

Before they could even get within five feet of him, Ezra spins Skyfall and lets of a large wave of fire.

This wave encompasses the podium like a large gust of wind.

With such a large and powerful attack coming towards them, all the Transcendents were forced to deploy energy barriers to shield them from getting burnt.

Alas, they underestimated the power of the wave of fire and like insects, were sent flying off the stage.

At this, Ezra wills the wave of fire for dissipate since he had already won the match.

He’d rather avoid any burns.

As the last of his attack dissipated, Ezra is surprised to the see that none of the audience was cheering or even clapping.

Rather, a dreadful silence pervaded the surroundings space.

It took a few seconds for Ezra to be announced the winner.

Looking closer, Ezra realized the problem.

They had been made speechless by the power he showcased.

Most of them held gazes that looked as though they had seen something that transcended common sense.

Only after a thirty seconds did a part of the audience bbguu to cheer, bringing the rest of the audience into the frenzy as everyone hollered at the top of their lungs.

Such an attack had truly been out of their expectations.

Normally, the attacks used in duels were conservative and concentrated.

It had been a good while since they had since they had witnessed such a ferocious large scale attack.

And...it was simply beautiful.

The same could be said for the Nascents, who all sat in silence, evaluating the last attack in their minds.

Rather, for them who knew the ranks amongst Nascents, it was much more mind boggling.

"Has the clan leader already given him pure blood? He shouldn’t have had enough energy left to make that attack otherwise" exclaimed the same nascent from before.

"It is very likely" another concurred.

They discuss fervently, throwing out different opinions as Ezra’s energy capacity had shocked them greatly in contrast to the performance they were expecting.

Since after all, beyond the evolution of one’s energy strengthening ones elemental attacks, there was little difference between a rank six and a first step Nascent.

This was why they stayed within the barriers confines in the first place.

They judged that Ezra wouldn’t use a wide scale attack, since he would need to conserve his energy.

Yet, he let out four large scale elemental attacks.

Three of which were let out in rapid succession!

This wouldn’t have been a problem if Ezra’s attacks were weak as they ought to be.

But rather, they were strong enough to do fatal damage to multiple rank six Transcendents at a time.

Especially the wave of fire that stretched wide like a curtain and stretch higher like a waterfall.

Thus creating the frenzied reaction from the audience.

With this much, there was no need to test Ezra further.

No one would object to his to his qualification now.

Without strong, he was strong enough to receive the Elder position.

This much was undisputable.

Now, rather than the arrogant, belittling and ridiculing thoughts, all the Nascents were simply wondering one thing.

’Where did the clan leader find such a monster?!’

—---------

Whereas, the clan leader, who was also watching, was surprised as well.

’I didn’t think he would be this powerful’

Even though he had been reported to kill an astral beast at rank three, there wasn’t much to go on except for word of mouth.

Therefore, while he believed in Ezra’s abilities, he naturally held reservations having not seen it himself.

But Ezra had surpassed his expectations, which he had considered high.

Because of this, Asadon did not how to feel about the situation as it seemed to possess mana reserves even larger than that of red dragons at the Nascent rank.

While Asadin still had doubts as to whether Ezra had not become a Nascent long ago, he put them aside without the lack of evidence.

Instead, by thinking to the direction that would have them benefit from this unexpected development, Asadon found himself smiling without realizing it.

In this way, Ezra had achieved his aim.

He had given a stellar introduction!
