Rise of the Primordial Dragon beast tamer-Chapter 13: The Abyssal Hollow Dungeon (II)
Chapter 13 - The Abyssal Hollow Dungeon (II)
Azvoid hovered above the colossal serpent, hands aglow with spatial energy, poised to shatter reality itself.
But the Abyssal Serpent was no ordinary foe.
With a swift twist, its massive body coiled, and its tail whipped through the air with devastating force.
Azvoid barely had time to react.
He folded space around him, attempting to blink to safety.
But the serpent anticipated the move.
Its amethyst eyes flared, and the very fabric of space distorted, disrupting Azvoid's teleportation.
[System Alert!] The Abyssal Serpent has activated Spatial Disruption!
"Argggghhhhhh! , Great it can do that."
Azvoid's form flickered, and he was yanked back into reality, directly in the path of the oncoming tail.
THWACK!
The impact sent him hurtling across the cavern, crashing into the jagged wall. Pain exploded through his body, and he tasted blood.
Gritting his teeth, he pushed himself to his feet, muscles protesting.
The serpent's maw opened, revealing rows of glistening fangs, venom dripping and sizzling upon contact with the stone floor.
Azvoid's mind raced.
Direct attacks were futile. The serpent's Spatial Disruption ability countered his primary advantage. He needed a new strategy.
His eyes scanned the cavern, noting the bioluminescent fungi clinging to the walls, casting an eerie glow.
An idea sparked.
[System Notification!] Bioluminescent Fungi detected. Properties: Emits light; reacts to spatial anomalies.
Azvoid's lips curled into a grin.
He extended his hand, channeling his energy not at the serpent, but at the surrounding fungi.
With a focused pulse, he amplified their luminescence.
The cavern blazed with light.
The serpent recoiled, its scales shimmering as they absorbed the sudden brightness. Its amethyst eyes narrowed, and it hissed in displeasure.
Azvoid seized the moment.
Drawing upon his spatial manipulation, he bent the intensified light around the serpent, creating a prism of refracted brilliance.
The creature thrashed, disoriented.
[System Insight!] The Abyssal Serpent's weaknesses include light-based attacks and spatial anomalies.
Azvoid's grin widened.
He conjured orbs of condensed light, hurling them at the serpent. Each impact elicited a screech, the creature's dark scales cracking under the assault.
But the serpent was resilient.
With a furious roar, it unleashed a torrent of abyssal venom, the corrosive liquid arcing toward Azvoid.
He reacted instinctively, slicing through space to create a rift, diverting the venom into a parallel dimension.
The serpent's eyes flared with rage.
It lunged, fangs bared, aiming to crush him in its maw.
Azvoid stood his ground, waiting until the last possible moment.
As the serpent struck, he sidestepped, placing his hand on its massive head.
Channeling all his energy, he unleashed a concentrated burst of spatial distortion directly into the creature's skull.
The effect was instantaneous.
The serpent's momentum halted, its body convulsing as the spatial energy tore through its form.
With a final, ear-splitting screech, the Abyssal Serpent collapsed, its massive body crashing to the cavern floor, lifeless.
[System Notification!] Dungeon Boss Defeated: Abyssal Serpent (E+ Rank)! Experience Gained: +500 EXP. Level Up! (E → E+)
Azvoid exhaled, his body trembling from exertion.
The cavern began to tremble, signaling the imminent collapse of the unstable dungeon.
He steadied himself, a sense of accomplishment washing over him.
But his journey was far from over.
As the dungeon crumbled around him, Azvoid prepared to face whatever challenges awaited beyond the Abyssal Hollow.
Continuing on, Azvoid moved on to the next level. Strength,he had to get stronger he was still too weak to the point he still struggled fighting with this low level beasts.
Moving on Azvoid engaged in mindless slaughter, with every kill his skill proficiency increasing while disdaining extracting any talents from the beasts, reason? They were too weak.
....
A sharp breath. A heartbeat—steady, yet straining.
Azvoid Larkson stood amidst the ruins of a hard-fought battle, his blade coated in thick, blackened blood that sizzled against the cold air. His chest rose and fell heavily, his body protesting the exertion.
Before him lay three corpses—mutated creatures, each more monstrous than the last.
One was a Goreclaw Ravager, its four mangled arms twitching in death, its razor-like talons still slick with Azvoid's blood. Another, a Specter Maw, a shadow-born beast, its ethereal form now a tattered mess of dissolving energy. The last—a Vein Serpent, a creature of pulsating flesh and exposed veins, its head lying a few feet from its body, severed cleanly.
Azvoid let out a slow exhale, his grip tightening on his sword.
That fight had not been easy.
[System Notification!]
Enemies Defeated!
+800 EXP!
A faint shimmer rippled across his skin.
[Level Up Achieved!]
E+ rank→ D-Rank (initiate).
A rush of strength coursed through him, mending torn muscles, sharpening his senses. Yet, exhaustion still clung to his bones—this fight had taken more than it had given.
"Ah, you survived," a voice slithered into his mind, dripping with amusement.
Azvoid sighed. "Noctis."
The dragon's chuckle rumbled like distant thunder, his presence a shadowed weight within Azvoid's consciousness.
"You look half-dead, Wielder," Noctis mused. "Barely crawling forward, clinging to this pitiful mortal strength. How entertaining."
Azvoid wiped a streak of blood from his cheek, expression unreadable. "I won."
"Did you?" Noctis purred. "Look at you—panting, battered, one foot from collapse. If I were beside you now, I could crush you with a flick of my claw."
Azvoid scowled. "And yet, here I stand. Still fighting."
Noctis hummed thoughtfully, his abyssal presence shifting like curling mist.
"True... but I wonder. How long until you break? Until you realize that your fragile strength means nothing before true power?"
Azvoid didn't answer immediately. Instead, he sheathed his blade, his obsidian-black eyes scanning the cavern ahead. The dungeon's air was thick with malice, an invisible force that seemed to push back against him, daring him to continue.
He wasn't done yet.

The deeper Azvoid ventured, the colder it became. His breath came out in faint wisps, dissipating into the gloom.
Faint sounds echoed in the distance—a chittering chorus of unseen creatures. The tunnel walls pulsed with veins of violet energy, the very stone alive with some dark force.
And then, he felt it.
A presence.
Azvoid froze.
His instincts screamed, and he barely had time to move before the shadows attacked.
A blur of clawed limbs and gleaming fangs erupted from the darkness, striking like a phantom wind.
Azvoid twisted, barely avoiding the first attack as a jagged claw ripped past his face, slicing through his coat. His sword came up instinctively—
CLANG!
His blade clashed against something unnaturally hard. The force sent a sharp tremor up his arm, nearly throwing him off balance.
He caught a glimpse of his attacker—a Chimeric Dreadfiend.
It stood on two powerful legs, its hunched, skeletal frame wrapped in bone-white armor that pulsed with violet runes. Its face was a grotesque fusion of a wolf and a serpent, its two mouths lined with interlocking teeth, dripping black ichor that hissed upon contact with stone.
Worse still? It wasn't alone.
Two more creatures emerged from the abyss—twisted, nightmarish beings that reeked of eldritch hunger.
[System Notification!]
Hostile Entities Identified: Chimeric Dreadfiends (D+ Rank).
Threat Level: HIGH.
Azvoid barely had time to react before the first one lunged again, its jaw unhinging unnaturally, revealing a second row of fangs hidden deep in its maw.
Too fast.
Azvoid moved, activating Space Vector Mastery in a split-second decision.
The air shuddered around him.
The beast's attack veered off-course, its own momentum turning against it as it was hurled into the cavern wall. CRASH! A web of fractures spread across the stone where it landed.
But Azvoid didn't celebrate.
The second Dreadfiend struck from behind.
He barely turned in time—
A clawed hand raked across his side. PAIN flared.
Blood spilled, staining his coat.
Azvoid gritted his teeth, staggering back. His hand pressed against the wound, his vision narrowing as the creatures closed in.
"Tch. Look at you now," Noctis murmured, his voice a serpentine whisper curling around Azvoid's mind. "Your mortal flesh is tearing, your strength faltering. Are you ready to invoke me yet?"
Azvoid's breath was ragged. Pain dulled his movements, but his will remained unbroken.
"No."
The dragon laughed darkly.
"Amusing."
The first Dreadfiend recovered, its violet eyes burning with predatory malice. The three beasts circled him now, the cavern trembling beneath their presence.
Azvoid steadied his grip. His obsidian eyes burned with quiet defiance.
"Then fight, Wielder. Show me something worthy of amusement."
Azvoid exhaled.
And then—he moved.
The battle had only begun.
