Rise of The Strongest Monarch-Chapter 65: The Technique
I turn my attention away from celeste, listening to the conversation between Amelia and Zeno.
"I don’t know what’s so special about being a half breed, but I do want to know what that whole thing was out there," Amelia speaks with a serious look in her eyes.
"A technique that only light bearers tend to use. I’ve never seen any other race or species capable of using such a thing," Zeno responds without any hesitation.
"It looks pretty strong for something so unique to light bearers," Amelia says with interest in her voice.
"Luminous Dominion is often a last resort of ours," Zeno replies with a smile.
Luminous Dominion? That definitely sounds like quite the name for such a technique.
He didn’t say that we couldn’t use it though... Just that he has never seen any other races or species using it. Maybe that is a technique that I am capable of learning at some point in time.
"What about a half breed like me?" Amelia questions.
"I’m sure it is possible," He answers.
He doesn’t look like he has a problem with explaining much about this, but I don’t know how he can smile so much.
Often times I smile at Airi but I don’t know if that is real or not. Everything feels like a complete mess, ever since I woke up.
Emotions are definitely something I notice I seem to be lacking a lot of lately... But it could be because I’m fueled by rage right now. Caring also could lead to more deaths of people I love.
"That’s why it is good to keep the distance," Celeste speaks up.
I’m glad we agree on that. Killing the zierel is the main goal, the one that I need to stay focused on. I’ve got plenty of years ahead of me, or at least I think so.
It all depends on if you plan to try to take over or not.
"You have been rejecting me for the most part so I can’t, even if I want to," Celeste responds calmly.
I snap out of it as I notice Zeno waving his hand in front of me.
"Glad to see you have come back to us," He says before letting out a laugh.
"I’m just processing everything," I reply with a serious tone.
I also take notice of the darkness that is back around us again, the lights from before have completely disappeared. It must’ve been a temporary thing that he did.
"Do you have anything you want to know?" Zeno asks with a curious look on his face.
"Honestly I think I’m more curious about if I can even do something like that," I respond while looking down at my left arm.
"I don’t know. Humans aren’t really something I know much about in that sense, but it could be possible," He says before shrugging his shoulders.
"You just haven’t seen any other species doing it," I reply calmly.
If I can find a way to use the luminous dominion, then I’ll be able to reach even greater heights. That all brings me back to understanding the power within this sword.
I need aether to give me some sort of hints to unlocking this power... but I doubt that he will. He seems pretty confident in me figuring it out myself, just it would make my life easier.
Then again, nothing really comes easy in this world anymore.
I just need to focus on my goal and on what he told me. Make sure nothing happens to Amelia since it is important to him, not that I understand a thing about it.
"You could be the first to do it as a human, who knows," He says with another shrug.
After that he walks past me, keeping his hands in his pockets.
FWOOSH!!!!
A gust of wind blows past me as I just barely catch a glimpse of white robes in the distance. Her white hair flowing with the wind as she looks towards me with those purple eyes.
Airi is standing in the distance with her sword in her hand.
Before I can turn back towards Zeno I feel a hand grasp my shoulder, gripping it lightly as I feel his eyes looking past me. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"It seems another light bearer is here, maybe this is a good day," Zeno whispers.
"It is just Airi," I respond quietly.
I feel the grip get tighter on my shoulder.
"You know Airi? Honestly I’m surprised," Zeno whispers with a bit of anger in his voice.
"She is assigned to me," I reply while trying to move.
Ba-dum. Ba-dum.
My heart is beginning to race as his grip remains on my shoulder. The feeling of fear slowly starts to linger throughout my whole body.
"Take your hand off of him already," Airi says with a deadly look in her eyes.
The murderous look in her eyes is something I haven’t really seen before, especially not towards a light bearer. She looks like she is ready to take his head.
But I finally feel the grip disappear from my shoulder as another gust of wind goes by.
Zeno stands ahead of me, only a few meters away from Airi. His hands still haven’t left his pockets which is surprising since he used pistols before.
Could it be possible that he is exhausted from the luminous dominion? It is quite a powerful technique according to him.
I didn’t think it exhausted them so much but now that I think about it... His eye was bleeding before. That definitely took quite a toll on him so I wonder what he’ll do if she decides to fight him.
"I don’t want to fight you," Zeno responds with a nonchalant tone.
"Then why are you even here?" Airi asks with a serious tone.
"I just dealt with a goliath that your partner was fighting against," Zeno answers with a laid back tone in his voice.
"A goliath? That doesn’t make sense," Airi says with doubt in her voice.
"Maybe you should do some scouting yourself from now on," Zeno suggests as he looks away from her.
Airi didn’t know about the giant zierel that was here?
