Rise of The Strongest Monarch-Chapter 75: Death?
I don’t hear celeste saying anything else as I lay hear impaled... Just silence as my body feels like it is going to give out at any moment.
The pain is slowly beginning to disappear as I stare back at the spike, but nothing about me is healing in the slightest.
"What if you temporarily give me control?" Celeste asks quietly.
My arm still feels like it is going insane with how much she is moving around but maybe she is onto something.
I cough up a bit of blood while considering her option.
If you think it’ll save us from death, by all means... Take control to save us from this fate, but you need to give it back. That is the only way for this to work.
"I’ll give it back," Celeste says softly.
I feel as if I’m sinking into the darkness itself, but I can still see everything distantly through my own eyes. It is almost like watching yourself in a way.
All black goo seems to form from my left arm and it immediately grabs onto the spike, slowly pulling my body off of it.
I wonder if this is what it’s like for celeste all the time, watching through this kind of view for so long. It definitely feels quite strange since this is my own body...
But after a few more tries I see my body get taken off of the spike and it falls once more, eventually reaching another spot to drop.
THUD!!!
I look like I land on my feet this time but everything is slowly beginning to return as I stare ahead. Within a few seconds my vision is normal again but all of the pain is surging back into me.
I fall to my knees while clenching my stomach with one hand.
Splat!!! Drip!!!
Blood pours onto the floor as I stare down at it, watching it all happen.
"I’m already working on stopping the bleeding..." Celeste says with worry in her voice.
My vision is getting darker with each second, but I’m not falling over just yet. The will to survive through this is not something I’m giving up on yet.
I’ll survive this. I have to kill all of the zierel no matter what, so this won’t be where I die.
The sword forms in my right hand and I use it to stand back up, blood still continues to hit the ground as I hold myself up.
My insides feel like they are completely scrambled from that spike as well, but yet I’m not laying on the ground. I can feel something strange moving around in my stomach so it must be Celeste.
"I’ve never had to heal internal organs before so I apologize, I’m trying my best," Celeste says with panic in her voice.
You are doing fine, just focus on what you need to. Everything is going to work out at the end of the day anyway.
You’ve given me more reasons to have faith in you with this.
"I just can’t let us die here," Celeste responds.
After a couple of minutes I notice the blood is no longer spilling out from my stomach but I’m definitely feeling quite exhausted. The amount I lost is the bigger problem here.
Even the pain is slowly starting to go away now that she is about done with the major healing.
Collapse!
I fall backwards and find myself staring up towards the skies that don’t exist down here.
There’s nothing for us to look at anymore, not even on the surface. Night skies don’t seem to exist and I don’t really know anything but darkness now.
It doesn’t change whether I’m in a pit like this or not.
Fighting a constant battle for the chance to have light back in our lives is quite exhausting already. Will it really be able to return one day? 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
I reach my right hand out towards the sky.
The chance for it all to come back is what I need to keep pushing for. My family would be happy to see everyone getting a chance to enjoy their lives again.
Fight. Fight. Fight.
That’s all I can do if I want to bring peace back to the world.
"I’ve done everything I can for now, I’m drained," Celeste speaks up.
It’ll do for the time being, now we wait for a little while.
"Liam you better not die after everything I just did!" She shouts with worry in her voice.
My arm falls back onto the ground as I close my eyes.
I don’t have any intentions of dying here, just a small nap until the others arrive. That should be enough time for me to get some energy back.
At least that’s the only way to look at it when we don’t have any other choices right now.
The movement in my arm slowly dies down as everything around me starts to go quiet again. No sounds of monsters, no animals, and no other humans are talking.
Keeping my eyes open would’ve been pointless when I can’t even see anyway.
With her gone, I lay here alone. My thoughts are slowly starting to drift away now too, maybe I will be reunited with them soon.
I don’t want celeste’s efforts to be for nothing but at the same time I can’t control what my fate is. Humans were never in control of that to begin with.
It starts to feel like I’m floating, like the time I met aether for the first time... Except I wasn’t really floating then, was I?
I open my eyes to the sight of darkness all around me, no sign of Aether anywhere.
I’m all alone, dying at some random place within the pit. What will they find when they do reach me here?
Everything is pointing towards my death, even with all the healing I got.
"Then what is my purpose here?!?!" I cry out.
"Someone!!! Anyone tell me why I survived if I’m just going to die here!!!" I cry out once more.
