Run Away After Flirting: Get Lost, Mr. Attorney!-Chapter 136: He Actually Scolded Her for the Sake of His Assistant?
"Summit and I are just colleagues now," Summer Nolan explained.
Colleagues who have broken up but still sleep together? Ian Sterling looked at her with a smile, really wanting to throw that remark at her, but held back.
Why make her embarrassed when breaking them up would be more interesting?
He thought if one day she genuinely fell for him, he might not be able to resist and would accept her.
"Are you approaching me with some kind of motive?" He thought this woman wanted to treat him as a backup lover, but now he realized that she didn’t actually like him.
Summer’s chest tightened for a moment, but she quickly calmed down and then smiled, "I didn’t expect you to see through it. All right, I admit, there is indeed a purpose..."
"What purpose?" Ian Sterling asked while looking at her.
"Can I not say?" She ate a piece of steak with an indifferent expression.
"Using me without letting me know the reason, looks like this friendship can’t continue," he smiled coldly and took a sip from his wine glass.
Summer glanced at him and then slowly said,
"I wanted to use you to annoy Elias Spencer. He has always been close with that assistant of his and cares a lot about her. He keeps telling me there’s nothing going on with that assistant, yet he continues to show concern for her. It really makes me angry."
"So, you still like him and want to get back together?" Ian Sterling asked, feeling displeased.
Did he believe her?
Summer Nolan felt relieved and nodded lightly... Currently, she told this man that she liked Elias Spencer.
Then she’d tell Elias Spencer she liked Ian Sterling and wanted to marry this man.
The two must not confront each other and expose her!!
"Only when I’m with you does he become anxious. He never did before, always posing aloof and opposing me." This statement was indeed true.
He wasn’t like this before.
Ian Sterling believed her words, his gaze shifting slightly as he said to her, "If you want to provoke him, you should go all out. Don’t get caught by him too soon; otherwise, he won’t learn to cherish you.
Didn’t you say a few days ago that he personally went with bodyguards to a tourist area to find his assistant?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"...That’s what I think too," Summer Nolan agreed.

The next morning, at the law firm.
Iris Lynn came to work today. Holding her water cup, she had just reached the doorway of the break room when she heard several female colleagues gossiping about her inside—
"Hey, look at Iris. She was assaulted by several men yet acts as if nothing happened. Today, she came in giving us the cold shoulder, not looking at all like a victim."
"Isn’t that right? I accidentally bumped into her this morning, and she was furious as hell!"
"Maybe she was even calling out enthusiastically, enjoying it, being pampered by several men. She’s probably the one having fun, right?"
"Pfft..." The group burst into laughter at her words.
"She insisted on staying there alone; I guess she wanted to sell her body to make money?"
A colleague said, glancing towards the entrance, her smile froze, and she coughed:
"Cough, cough!!"
The others stopped laughing and looked at Iris Lynn’s dark expression, pausing momentarily but not fearing her, and all grabbed their cups and left.
Iris clenched her fists tightly, angered immensely. Was it Attorney Spencer who told them about this? But he wasn’t one to spread gossip!
She didn’t fetch water, directly heading to Attorney Spencer’s office, knocked on the door, and only after hearing a response did she push the door open and enter.
Deliberately leaving the office door open, she wanted to allow those outside to hear how Attorney Spencer would stand up for her!
Walking up to his desk, her eyes filled with pre-prepared tears...
Elias Spencer hadn’t gone to Summit that morning; seeing his assistant come in without speaking, he lifted his cold eyes from the computer, appearing even colder than usual today.
Exuding an aura of coldness and sternness.
"What’s wrong?" Seeing her about to cry, he asked in a deep voice.
Iris Lynn hadn’t spoken yet, but tears were already falling, looking utterly aggrieved as she asked shakily,
"Attorney Spencer...didn’t you promise not to tell anyone about me being assaulted?"
"I haven’t said anything," Elias Spencer replied sternly.
"But everyone at the law firm knows now. Just as I went to the break room for water, some colleagues not only showed no sympathy but also mocked me...
Why are they treating me like this?"
Upon hearing her words, Elias Spencer’s expression darkened even more. He had only told Summer Nolan about this; was it she who revealed it?
Even if she disliked Iris Lynn, she shouldn’t have retaliated in such a way.
Just arriving at the law firm’s entrance, Summer Nolan heard Iris Lynn’s words and chuckled—
Here to complain?
"Call in those employees who mocked you," Elias Spencer instructed.
"Maybe it’s better not to. They might target me more later, conspiring against me. Maybe after mocking me for a while, they’ll just forget about it," Iris cried.
"Go if I tell you to," he said impatiently.
Iris nodded and, upon leaving the office, suddenly noticed Summer Nolan standing there, pausing for a moment before arrogantly smiling at her—
"Attorney Nolan, you’re here?" She greeted respectfully.
Summer Nolan gave a cold look at this two-faced assistant, itching to slap her.
Iris Lynn looked at her and suddenly leaned close to her ear, speaking in a low, provocatively anger-inducing tone,
"From now on, it’s best if you keep a low profile when you see me. If not, maybe I can let you stay at the firm for a few more days.
Oh, and a kind reminder, stay away from Elias Spencer, or I’ll make you notorious..."
Hearing her excessively arrogant words, Summer Nolan smiled, knowing she was intentionally provoking her to then play the victim to Elias Spencer.
Fine, she’ll fulfill her!
Raising her hand, she slapped the woman five times: "Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack! Smack...!!!"
Iris Lynn didn’t expect such harshness, turning dizzy, falling to the ground with her face half red and swollen like a bun, blood oozing from the corner of her mouth.
So painful, so painful...
Suddenly, all employees at the firm turned their eyes towards them, whispering about what happened. They were very curious about the reason Attorney Nolan hit Iris again this time?
Summer Nolan squatted down, grabbing this woman’s cheek, asking, "What are you to speak to me like that?"
"Attorney Nolan...what exactly did I do to offend you? Why do you always dislike me and even hit me?" Iris held her face, crying pitifully.
Hearing the commotion outside, Elias Spencer got up and stepped out, seeing that Summer Nolan had beaten his assistant again and harsher than before!
He grabbed her arm, pulling her up, eyes sharp with anger, "Attorney Nolan, what are you doing? Is it up to you to bully and hit my people?"
