The name Black Soil Swamp isn’t quite suitable, for the swamp is filled with ancient trees that block out the sun, and these trees are much taller than those in the Spiritual Vein Forest… towering so high that looking up gives the illusion of skyscrapers made of trees.

Beneath the huge ancient trees lies the muddy swamp, which harbors unknown dangerous creatures.

Despite being such a swamp, there are some flat lands suitable for cultivation and normal paths, where the Hornet Knight and Wolf Knight were leaping quickly among the ancient tree branches.

They had set off directly from the Spiritual Vein Forest, riding the best flying mounts given by Jiang Qiao from the village, braving the risk of being chased by a bunch of flying lord-level monsters, and had traveled across the land of crystals to reach the Black Soil Swamp on the other side.

But the attire of the townspeople was very uniform, all of them wore pure white prison clothes… several knights in armor were chiding those in prison clothes to work.

On the surface, it looked like a town inhabited by slaves, but those wearing prison clothes did not have shackles or similar restraints.

“You should feel fortunate! Those of you infected by the crystal disease plague should have been sent to the gallows, but the empire has given you a chance to live! You may cultivate this island at will, and these buildings brought about by miracles will belong to you!”

A leading soldier stood at the highest point of the town, shouting down to the people wearing prison clothes below.
