Savage Ascension: Starting with God-Tier Plunder Ability-Chapter 92: Treasure in the Cave
The interview with Senior Soldier Bulsheben didn't end very well.
'To completely ignore me.'
Bulsheben, who'd praised them for achieving merit and spoke as if acknowledging them, actually wasn't acknowledging the Tracking Mercenary Group. He'd only spoken with flashy words.
'How can his capability fall so low while acting as senior soldier alone and being Commander Gesilian's adjutant?'
He was also lukewarm about what they said about bows and arrows. Bulsheben's ability wasn't outstanding as expected.
Harboring dissatisfaction, Rowan even had bad thoughts. But he soon gave up, because it wasn't a good idea.
'But spreading to soldiers is the worst policy.'
He couldn't avoid censure. It should flow from the top down, but he'd make them think he dared flap his mouth recklessly and tried to manipulate himself. Not only Senior Soldier Bulsheben but Commander Gesilian's anger could turn to Rowan.
It wasn't for nothing that War Merchant Panfanel tried to make Commander Gesilian move through Bulsheben. That was also the only method. Because the enemy to face was never a small number. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
They were bastards who bought goods from robber gangs. It wouldn't be strange whenever knife fights broke out. It soon meant great power.
'Through ambush battles, I can only catch robbers once more and push all at once.'
Even though the first button was anxiously fastened, Rowan didn't try to change the plan. Because there was no other good plan.
'Interrogation? Ridiculous.'
Believing what robbers said was truly foolish. This business even doubted the truth spoken while dying from torture.
'If I succeed this time too, Bulsheben will have different thoughts.'
It was the second departure. The luggage was heavier than before. Because personnel decreased with Crossbowman Bedri being expelled. Also, Rowan was thinking fairly big this time, so he planned to stay longer.
To give shock to Bulsheben's head, he had to erase the first impression of greenhorn mercenary group. To do that, he had to capture many robbers to give a strong visual effect.
'At least a week.'
Last time they were ambushed, but this time it was time for them to unfold ambush battles.
"Be careful."
After subjugating a small-scale robber gang, those who spoke informally to Rowan decreased. Soldiers with quite a bit of experience used formal speech, and new recruits with no combat experience were respectful. Mediocre bastards were half and half. Rather, mediocre bastards were the problem.
Doren was latest in preparation, because he prepared communal items first and did his own goods last.
"Let's hurry up."
Espin and Doren were both 17 years old, same age. Thanks to that, they quickly dropped formalities, but Espin had a position like an older brother. He helped Doren organize things. He lifted the leather bag and appropriately distributed the weight tilted to one side.
"Thanks."
"I'm doing it because the captain is waiting."
Espin answered while stinging like a hornet. Doren lightly oiled the bow and picked it up. He took Bedri's position. The wound on his butt reached the point where blood didn't come out even running, but there was pain, and also it was because of Rowan's judgment that it was more efficient for Espin to have Doren providing rear support.
Thanks to that, he received tactical training from Rowan until late evening. Neither Rowan nor Espin had big expectations of Doren. They only demanded minimum capability. That was also good for Doren. Mental burden was light, and while doing so, he could clearly know what his work was.
'He hits average.'
Rowan had no big expectations of Doren, but didn't feel disappointed either. He was exactly that level of person, and if he knew one thing he knew at least one thing. His nature seemed weak but had persistence. It wasn't for nothing he'd grabbed and trained with the shortsword alone for 4 years.
"Ugh!"
When Doren shouldered the heavy thing with quite a bit of food supplies while trembling his arms, Rowan was surprised and supported from behind.
"That's Espin's."
"Ah, this? I wondered... haha."
Espin was laughing greatly. Obviously it was heavy, but he'd picked it up thoughtlessly and then struggled to endure the weight, trembling his arms like an aspen tree. It couldn't help but be funny. Bearded Doren, whose face turned quite red, shouldered the luggage allotted to him.
Espin, who shouldered the heaviest luggage, planned to go while exchanging luggage with Rowan. Because though Espin was good in strength, Rowan was overwhelmingly superior in stamina and endurance.
They headed to the southern Golden Plains of Tri-fork Hill Road again. They were thinking of catching several small-scale robbers and bringing them all at once. The reason that was possible was naturally because of the hideout of the robber gang they'd caught before.
'That's not the only reason I must go there.'
The currency the robber gang hid! He had to find it. The reason he was certain it was hidden was naturally because someone had bought what they plundered. Also, Rowan wasn't thinking of pocketing it alone.
'I don't even know where it's hidden, so naturally I'll be suspected. It's better to open cleanly, find quickly, and split 1/n.'
Was it because it felt like finding money, or because they'd already caught a robber gang once? They arrived at the robber gang's hideout in 2 days. The place was still well hidden.
After unpacking luggage inside, Doren would search the cave while Rowan and Espin decided to search outside. They would have hidden it not far away.
Rowan lifted rocks and meticulously cleared one by one. Treasure hunting wasn't something you could just do with hands behind your back. Eyes had to spin widely in one spot, and the upper body also had to bend down or straighten up to look up.
Getting hands dirty was also essential.
"I found it! Jackpot, jackpot!"
The robber gang's treasure was found by Doren. They were bastards who'd also dug under the cave to bury rock salt because of betrayal. Money was also hidden underground. He was happy like a child.
Money in a small square wooden case had lots of copper coins but also quite a bit of silver coins.
