Saving The Villainous Monster From The Male Lead-Chapter 133 - 132: There Is No Other Choice
Lilith bowed to the grand duke, her true master. On his orders she left the corridor, unwillingly but had no choice but to obey him.
Sometimes, the biggest curse is to know something, you cannot tell anyone. The new madam was suffering through it, the butler and even she was suffering through the same. Everything that happened that night was something that only these three knew other than the grand duke, himself.
She could understand the pain Eleanore was feeling yet could do nothing for her. All she could do was perhaps give her a comfortable life, with at least no mistreatment from the staff that knew nothing.
"Looks like Marina found her way here." Caelestis enters his room with a thin but long brown envelope in his hand.
"Why are you here?" Eleanore asked, her eyes losing the spark again.
"Here." He throws the envelope her way, to catch.
"What is this?" Eleanore opens it. "Is this some new agreement from your side or something?" She asks mockingly.
"No, not really." He folds his hand around his chest and looks at Marina, asking her to leave but she doesn’t budge.
"Give it up. Marina only listens to my order. She is employed under me." She pulls out the papers and reads the first sentence.
Marriage Certificate.
"You are not planning to her everything, right?" He takes a few steps to reduce the distance between him and Marina, yet she shows no sign of fear.
"I am. Got a problem?" She asks, skipping a few paragraphs and moving on to the next page.
"Yes, I do not allow you to tell her." Eleanore looks up as she finishes reading the main problem with those documents.
"Who do you think you are, tell me what to do?" The documents fly back in his hands.
"I am your husband."
Eleanore scoffs on hearing that. "Yeah right." She sits back on the couch and crosses her leg. "I will do whatever I want to do. Don’t you dare try to control me."
She firmly draws a line.
Caelestis slightly pushes Marina aside and holds Eleanore’s face tightly. "If you tell her everything, she will start respecting you right? How will you be secluded from the world like me then?" He whispers near her ear.
Eleanore slaps his hand off her face. "Even if I don’t tell her, she would still stand beside me."
"Great then, there is no need to tell."
Eleanore glares at him when he says that. "Go, Marina. We’ll continue later."
Marina nodded and left after greeting the duke, leaving him surprised.
"I can’t believe you agreed so quickly." He laughs as he sits on the small couch at the end of his bed.
Eleanore inhales a long breath and then leans back. "Honestly, Caelestis. Not everyone is like you. People leave your side because of your actions that are wretched and resembles that of a monster. In sheer contrast, people stay by my side because of my actions, that are much better than yours, if not heavenly. Let me make this one thing clear, I am not like you. You may try but you will fail terribly in making me stoop to your level. Instead, only you will stoop lower."
She tuts softly as she looks away. "Truly! I truly pity you. What a sad life you have?"
After she finishes a strange stillness, plagues over them and this strange stillness ends with a loud laugh that had erupted from Caelestis mouth. Eleanore turned to him in confusion, thinking that he might have finally lost it.
"I love your powerful monologues. You are so confident." He wipes a tear that had formed along his eye line. "Anyways, I wasn’t here for this." He reveals.
"Then why are you here?" She questions, disinterested in his presence.
"The marriage certificate. It got rejected by the royal family." He brought the papers high up to bring her attention to it.
"So, what the hell did you even expect?" She questions his sanity. "We ran away and married without a single soul knowing. Society doesn’t expect such relationships to forget marriage."
"I think you are forgetting something. I am the grand duke of this kingdom, one of the two pillars who is letting this nation breathe." He tosses those documents on the bed.
"Really? And they are the royal family. The one that rules over this nation, which includes you."
"They would have had no power if I and your brother were not present to support them." He argues.
"You are so arrogant!" She remarks.
Caelestis sighs. He realises that ever since they had gotten married, their every conversation was turning into an argument or a heated fight.
"Anyways, —" he softens his voice. "I don’t think this happened because we got married like this."
"What do you mean?" She leans forward.
"He is involved. Your lover."
"You mean the crown prince." She guesses. "And he is not my lover."
"What a shitty lie!"
"He is just a good friend." She becomes defensive. "Maybe he realised something was fishy and thus rejected the marriage certificate.
"Or he just couldn’t accept that you got married out of a blue moon."
His argument wasn’t baseless. Alastor does love her deeply. He had even confessed and even after being rejected had no intention to move back.
Eleanore presses her throbbing temples as she comes up with an idea. She gets out of the couch and grabs the documents, then neatly arranges it before sliding them black into the envelope.
"I will talk to him." She speaks. "However, in return, allow me to move out of this dull, depressing room." She folds her hand around her chest.
"Can’t. Married couples don’t sleep in separate rooms." He got up.
"No, they do. It’s pretty common."
"Not if they are lovers."
Eleanore feels her head boiling. Just looking at his face nowadays is enough to make her irritated and now arguing with him is only making her angrier with every passing second.
"Listen, you fucking moron." She grabs his collar. "You do not have a choice here. You want this marriage certificate; I will get it. So, just accept the condition. Got it?"
"Oh my!" He was stunned and taken aback by those showering swears words from her mouth since yesterday. "Fine."
"Good." She lets him go and turns around to call Marina.
"In all seriousness," he says, opening his damn mouth again. "Where the hell did you learn those swear words from?" IT was a genuine question and Eleanore too answered it in all honesty.
"My past life."
