Chapter 473: Chapter 474 Last Night Was Just an Accident

Waking up from a hangover, Shen Tan felt as if her head would split open.

Since she had given birth to two children, she seldom drank, let alone to the point of getting drunk.

Upon opening her eyes, she saw two little heads beside her bed, and two pairs of round, wide eyes staring at her. The moment they saw her awake, they excitedly asked, "Mom, you’re awake?"

"Babies, what time is it?" Shen Tan rubbed her temples, easing her headache as she asked.

"It’s already nine o’clock!" Shen Ning cutely announced.

"What?" Shen Tan was taken aback, then looked at them apologetically and said, "I’m sorry, it’s my fault for waking up late, causing you to miss kindergarten. Why didn’t you wake me up earlier?"

The young girl blinked her big eyes and crisply said, "Mom, are you muddled from sleep? Today is the weekend, we don’t have to go to kindergarten."

"I’m sorry, I forgot." Shen Tan sat up and said, "Are you hungry? What do you want to eat? Shall Mommy order some takeout for you?"

"Dad has already made breakfast. My brother and I have eaten and we saved a portion for you, Mom."

"Is that so? Thank you, baby."

Shen Tan had a vague recollection of last night’s events.

She remembered seeing someone who looked a lot like Jiang Yu, who insisted on taking her away from the bar.

After that, she fell asleep in the car.

And she could not remember anything that followed.

Thinking about it now, the person who had taken her from the bar was Jiang Yu.

After some thought, Shen Tan decided to visit next door.

Shen Tan went over to knock, and the door was opened quickly. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Jiang Yu was dressed formally as if he was about to leave.

"Was it you who brought me back from the bar last night?" Shen Tan didn’t want to delay him too much and got straight to the point.

Jiang Yu didn’t answer her question but instead looked at her and said, "Is this how you normally take care of the children? Have you ever thought about how the kids would feel, how worried and scared they would be, waiting for you late at night?"

Shen Tan furrowed her brow, the headache from the hangover adding to her irritation; she just wanted to clarify the events of last night, not listen to his chastisement: "They are not as fragile as you think, and thanks for last night." Saying that, she turned around to leave.

Over the years, when work got busy and she could not take care of them, she would entrust others for help.

The two kids were stronger and more self-reliant than he imagined.

"Shen Tan," Jiang Yu’s voice came from behind her, "I agreed not to fight for custody because I thought you could take care of them well. If you can’t do that, then let me take care of them."

Shen Tan couldn’t help her face turning cold; she turned sharply and glared at him, "What makes you think I’m not taking good care of them? Just because I went to the bar to drink last night?"

Jiang Yu didn’t bring up the bar but only said, "Did you ever consider how worried and scared they must have been, waiting for you?"

Shen Tan knew she was at fault, but she didn’t want to show weakness in front of Jiang Yu, "Last night was an accident." It was just because she felt down that she went to drink, not expecting to accidentally drink too much.

Probably because she hadn’t drunk in a long time, her tolerance had decreased. If it had been before, she wouldn’t have gotten drunk at all.

Jiang Yu had a cold look in his eyes, his tone unchanging, "Once can happen, who’s to say there won’t be a second time. If this is how you always take care of the children, I think I’m better suited to be their guardian."

Shen Tan bit her lip, "You can rest assured, there won’t be a second time." She refused to believe that if the children’s custody was awarded to him, he could do nothing but watch over the two kids 24 hours a day.

If he couldn’t do that, what right did he have to criticize her?
