Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Pay Her Back Double

Binjiang Road, Fu Residence.

Li Mo was sitting on the sofa looking at the documents sent from the company when her cellphone suddenly rang. She glanced at the name on the screen, her eyebrows slightly furrowing.

She leaned over to answer the call, and the sickeningly sweet voice of Shen Xiaochen came through—

"Good afternoon, Auntie. It's Chenchen."

"Uh-huh." Li Mo replied indifferently, "What's the matter?"

Sensing the cool detachment in the other party's tone, Shen Xiaochen's expression stiffened for a moment but quickly returned to normal.

Ever since the car accident three years ago, Li Mo had rarely made public appearances. However, her disposition was cold, and she was known for her decisive and efficient ways. There once was a major developer who tried to use connections to collaborate with her, but she didn't even give them a second glance, leaving them out in the cold during a banquet. Few could gain any advantage in her presence, so Shen Xiaochen didn't mind her aloofness.

"Um... it's like this." There was a hint of uncertainty in Shen Xiaochen's words. "Auntie, I think I just saw that person."

"Which person?"

Li Mo was impatient, not wanting to play guessing games with her.

There was a moment of silence from Shen Xiaochen. Thinking of how Fu Shihan hadn't returned to the Fu Mansion much in the past three years and hearing the name "Su Wanxin" had seemingly become taboo in the Fu Family, she couldn't help but smile slightly, feeling that Su Wanxin's demise was imminent.

"Su Wanxin. Auntie, I saw Su Wanxin."

Li Mo's breathing hitched, her eyes widening abruptly. "Are you sure? Where?"

"Right down at Fu Group's building, I was passing by today..."

Shen Xiaochen hadn't finished speaking when the line went dead.

Listening to the busy tone, Shen Xiaochen smirked sinisterly. "Su Wanxin, I'd like to see just how capable you are to deal with the entire Fu Family!"

After hanging up the phone, Li Mo remained calm for a while before looking up Fu Shihan's number and dialing it.

In the office, Fu Shihan was buried in work. Raising an eyebrow at Li Mo's call, he assumed she was calling to scold him, considering he hadn't been home in almost half a year. But within moments of taking the call, his expression darkened.

"I'm not calling to catch up. Someone claimed they saw Su Wanxin downstairs at your company. What's going on?"

Li Mo asked bluntly, and Fu Shihan immediately thought of someone. "Shen Xiaochen said that?"

"So it's true?"

Fu Shihan was silent for a long while, eventually acknowledging it. "Yes, it's true."

"Come home tonight."

It wasn't a discussion but a command from Li Mo. Fu Shihan thought of his plans with Su Wanxin that evening and had to cancel them.

At eight o'clock, Fu Shihan drove home. Li Mo was sitting on the sofa, poised and elegant.

Time seemed to bestow particular gifts on some, leaving little mark of its passage on Li Mo's face.

Her features remained beautiful, her figure graceful, looking as if she were only in her thirties.

Fu Shihan approached her under her cool gaze, glancing at the wheelchair next to the sofa, his eyes lowering to hide the gloom within.

"What do you want me for?"

Fu Shihan pretended to be oblivious, Li Mo took a sip of tea, then spoke softly, "When did you find the person?"

"Just these past few days."

"Why didn't you bring them back?" Li Mo set down the exquisite teacup, looking at Fu Shihan, before she chuckled as if she had thought of a joke, her laughter tinged with sarcasm. "Afraid I would pay her back double for what happened to me?"
