Shattering Humanity-Chapter 474: What A Family Is...(2/2)
Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock. So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the hill country of Seir.
This is the account of the family line of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir. -Genesis 36:7-9

Esau’s Voice: "All I wanted, was to be wanted."
...
Man’s Voice: "You bitch! How could you have cheated on me!"
Woman’s Voice: "Don’t say that!
I would never-!"
Man’s Voice: "Then how can his eyes be green if we both have blood eye genes!?
Huh!?"

[Alexandria, Egypt]
Throughout the beautiful African port city, the would be echoes of anguished wailing from a lonesome infant are drowned out by the heavy downpour of rain, falling from the late summer night sky.
Left to perish in the harsh monsoon-like elements, the crying baby wrapped in a soaked blanket, can only lay there in it’s burlap stuffed basket. As it is endlessly pelted with heavy raindrops, the child accidentally inhales the precipitation and coughs for air while instinctively signaling for help.
Esau’s Voice: "I had grown into my consciousness never being blessed to know what the love from a family was like."

Man’s Voice: "So you are saying this boy emanates a ’hostile essence’ whenever he enters the same room you are in?"
Frantic Woman’s Voice: "That’s not only it!
Whenever one of the other foster children are given a toy reward for following the rules, that spawn of the Devil steals it if we aren’t looking!
The brat is only five years old, and he overpowered my husband!"
Man’s Voice: "And that’s when you called us?"
Frantic Woman’s Voice: "Yes!
Take that monster as far away from here as possible!"
...
Esau’s Voice: "When I was finally accepted, it wasn’t from a loving young mother or wise, caring father..."

Young Boy’s Voice: "I saw what you did to those men who mugged me.
The aura that surrounded you, can you teach that to me?!
Please teach me how to survive!"
...
Esau’s Voice: "I was saved one day by a traveling old woman, who I would later refer to as my grandmother.
As fragile as she might have looked, it was Hell living under her roof.
My body was pushed to its limits everyday and I was given just barely enough food and shelter to survive."

[Cairo, Egypt]
Hundreds of kilometers southeast from the port city of Alexandria, along the Nile River, a single orange kayak contains an old lady happily coasting without a paddle...but with a familiar looking whip in her hand.
*WHCRACK!*
Old Lady: "If you stop here you’ll drown, numbnuts!
Get those twig arms moving or your existence will be a mere gurgle in the universe’s stomach!"
Connected to the front of the singular floating device is a docking rope. On the other end, in the water, about 3 yards in front of the whip cracking woman, the heavy rope meant to keep large ships from floating away is tied around the waist an 11 year old Esau.
The prepubescent, green eyed orphan is obviously thinner than his future form and he is struggling to stay afloat while pulling the weight of the old woman whipping him.
*WHCRACK!*
Old Lady: "Do you want to die here, kid?!
Don’t forget, you asked me to take you in! Prove to me you can save yourself!"
Splashing and unconfident while in the water, the helpless boy tries pleading his case.
Young Esau: "I don’t even know how to swim, you old crazy Gypsy!"
Stretching the familiar leather weapon in her equally leathery skinned hands, the tiny old woman has no sympathy for the child.
Old Lady: "Welp, guess this is no better time to learn, right numbnuts?
Humanity as we know it today began from the water, so you had better get reacquainted with Mother Nature’s amniotic fluid!"
*WHCRACK!*
...
Esau’s Voice: "I changed my mind immediately, but despite my constant retaliation and uncooperative attitude, her knowledge of Seiõr overpowered me, and eventually..."

{Pyramid of Khufu}
Late at night, underneath the awe-inspiring stars, the crack of a whip can be heard echoing in the desert night.
*WHCRACK!*
Halfway up the largest of the world famous, ancient infrastructure, a heavy breathing, sweating, 13 year old Esau is clawing up the stone with his bloody fingertips.
Behind him, being dragged by the same rope, his elderly ’caregiver’, strapped into a thin wooden sled attached to the rope.
Old Woman: "What’s wrong, numbnuts?
Can’t carry little old me up the largest pyramid?! Hohohaha!"
Grimacing through the ridicule paired with pain from his muscles and fingertips, Esau almost slips from a crumbling step, but manages to hold on.
*WHCRACK!*
Old Woman: "What’s wrong with you?!
Are you trying to get us both killed?
You’re already halfway there!
Be thankful we can only get this done at night, and not under the direct sun!"

[Alexandria, Egypt]
Looking out at the sunset from the pier, now 16, a larger figure, and more lean muscle mass in his still growing body, Esau has medium length black hair with red tipped ends. His green eyes distinctively bare less pain than his future optics, but they still hold sadness and struggles only he has witnessed.
*WHCRACK!*
No longer threatened or negatively encouraged by the noise, the well trained orphan catches the end of the assailant’s weapon and it wraps around his closed fist.
However, his strength is not enough to win the short lived tug of war, and he is pulled forward to the ground, face into the wood planks.
Standing with both feet on the back of his head, the ’grandmother’ to Esau, covered in a blood red SoulSeiõrShield, confidently deactivates her magical assistance while trash talking her student.
Esau’s Grandma: "Seems like I’m not as close to being at qualifying standards as I once was.
Luckily, our blessed Seiõr will give me all the strength I’ll need until the day I fade away..."
She looks down at the young man she has taken in and mentored. His head underneath her sandals and face smooshed into the wooden boardwalk.
Esau’s Grandma: "...For some reason, I’m no longer afraid of dying."
The caretaker silently smiles before dismounting off her student’s skull with a double flip.
Esau’s Grandma: "Okay, chop chop!
Since nobody is around, I’ll finally teach you how to use Seiõr to walk on water.
And watch out, if you jump in and don’t stay on the surface, you’re sure to touch the shallow fire coral."
...
Esau’s Voice: "A few months before we left for Vinland, that woman began acting more like her age, and she seemed to look ’defeated’."
[4 Years Before Leviathan’s Invasion]
{Alexandria, Egypt}
Once again the port city of Africa is caught in the uncommon monsoon rains of Egypt.
A dim orange lighting from a single shattered window. Inside is the fire stove lit living space of what one can only call a ’broken down shack’.
A cauldron pot hanging above the only light source for the soggy home, 25 year old Esau sturs the soup with a wooden spoon.
He tastes the dish and a soft smile of satisfaction quickly disappears before looking at his adopted grandmother.
Now in a wheelchair, the woman who clearly used Völva techniques to achieve an extended lifetime, is now slightly shaking as if she has established Parkinson’s disease.
Esau: "Are you sure you don’t want me to heal you?
I don’t think you’ll survive any longer unless-"
Esau’s Grandma: "Sh-Shut up and p-pour me ah-ah- bowl."
With the strong winds blowing the rain sideways into their limited living area, the fire fizzles out as Esau carefully pours her a clay bowl full of his homemade meal.
The only dry corner left being occupied by the struggling elderly woman, Esau’s large body blocks the rainwater from diluting the meal as he walks only three steps to cross the entire ’home’.
Holding it out slowly for her to take, and despite her current disability, the elderly Völva manages to calm her muscles jitters well enough to cleanly receive the bowl.
Ignoring the vicious rain drops hitting his muscular back, the originally unwanted human waits for her reaction with bated breath.
Still visibly shaking but with enough control to eat with a spoon, the traveling Romani woman who took in the green eyed orphan eats her given serving without a word.
The more she consumes, the less severe the rainstorm is becoming outside the damp wooden shed.
This goes unnoticed by them both, evident by a single soft burp halfway through the supper.
Strong winds blowing the storm away, the night sky is revealed behind scattered clouds, and a bright full moon adds a dim light to the world under it.
Dripping wet from being a storm shield, Esau watches the shuttering elderly woman raise the bowl to her lips, taking in the last of whatever her utensil couldn’t get to.
Esau’s Voice: "I didn’t know why my heart was beating so fast at that moment, and I still don’t understand why it is one of the memories my brain chooses to hold dear.
All I knew was..."
Removing the bowl from her face, the old woman has a cracked lip smile in response to the meal.
Esau’s Grandma: "You wanted to know, but this is what a family is, numbnuts.
Great job.
We leave for my final vacation in the morning."
...
Esau’s Voice: "After 6 months at sea on the old hag’s small boat, we somehow avoided the Coast Guard, Navy, and all the other defences against illegal entry, landing on the beaches of this island."

[Kami Island, Vinland]
After 25 years of life, the once abandoned young boy has visibly grown into his top-heavy upper body that is identical to his current day appearance.
The only difference, a slight tan due to his time on the boat. He hops off of the vessel, splashing into the shallow water.
After easily handling and securing the small anchor into the sand, the illegal traveler looks back at his vessel.
Behind him, a woman’s voice makes the abnormally trained man flinch.
Edom’s Voice: "Um, excuse me, is that your boat?"
