She Asks for a Divorce Again-Chapter 22 - Block Him
Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Block Him
Pei Yansi’s lips curled into a cold sneer, his expression darkened as he listened to the mechanical female voice on the phone, a surge of anger instantly igniting within his chest.
How dare she actually block him, that was just great.
He was relentless, immediately switching to another private number to call Shen Heyu.
Shen Heyu saw yet another unknown number calling on the other side and knew that Pei Yansi wouldn’t rest easy tonight. She had no choice but to answer, wanting to get whatever he had to say over with so she could free herself sooner.
She answered with an unpleasant tone, “What on earth do you want?”
Before Pei Yansi even spoke, he heard her impatient voice, which fanned the flames in his chest even more. He nearly gritted his teeth with every word he said, “Your courage is really growing, starting to defy me. Is it because I’ve been too nice to you these days?”
...
Shen Heyu’s tone was calm, but her words were laced with sarcasm, “Really? I’ve always been like this, and besides, I never felt that you were that good to me.”
“Just get to the point, I want to sleep.”
Pei Yansi was so blocked by her words that he couldn’t speak. Knowing that more importantly, he needed to find out where she was, he asked, “Where are you staying?”
Shen Heyu sneered, her voice dripping with irony, “You’re asking now after I’ve been gone so long, isn’t it a bit too late?”
“Tell me where you are, I’m coming to take you home.”
Hearing his words, Shen Heyu visibly hesitated, not expecting him to take the initiative to look for her—this was the first time in many years of marriage.
She knew better than to keep defying him; if she exhausted the little patience he had left and he decided to settle accounts with her afterward, she couldn’t withstand it.
So she softened her voice, and although she wasn’t sarcastic, her attitude remained distant, “You don’t have to do this; I’m not going to tell Grandma.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than she heard a cold chuckle coming from the other end of the line, “You mean to say that I am looking for you now all because of Grandma, is that it?”
Shen Heyu frowned.
Wasn’t it?
She thought he was just worried that she would complain to Grandma, who would then put more pressure on him.
But for some reason, as her thoughts turned, she unexpectedly clung to a faint hope that maybe he genuinely wanted to come looking for her from the bottom of his heart. Clinging to this slight hope, she still gave out the address of Lu Yi’s villa.
Pei Yansi didn’t say anything more, hung up the phone, picked up the coat beside the bed, put it on, walked out, and left.
Shen Heyu wasn’t sure if Pei Yansi would really come, but just to be safe, she still got up from bed and dressed herself. As she descended to the living room, the door opened—it was Lu Yi, who had finished a surgery and had just returned home.
Lu Yi clearly paused when he saw her, as if surprised she hadn’t slept yet, and gently asked, “Do you have insomnia? I’ll warm up some milk for you to help you sleep.”
Before Shen Heyu could explain anything, he had already walked into the kitchen.
Watching him skillfully take out pure milk from the refrigerator and pour it into the milk pot, it was obvious that he was accustomed to taking care of others.
Shen Heyu suddenly felt envious of Lu Yunlan for having such a considerate brother, but she also couldn’t help but wonder what kind of woman Lu Yi would eventually choose to walk down the aisle with.
Lost in thought, a ring of the doorbell brought her back to reality.
Her heart skipped a beat, having a faint idea of who it might be.
Just as she was about to answer the door, Lu Yi, who had already warmed the milk, walked out of the kitchen and handed her the cup. He said, “I’ll get the door.”
He didn’t even glance through the peephole, simply pulling the door open.
The moment the door swung open, Pei Yansi saw a man, hesitated for a second, and when he recognized the man as Doctor Lu, the fury that had been suppressed flared up rapidly.
Initially, he thought this place didn’t look like a hotel but hadn’t imagined it would be another man’s home.
Lu Yi, who was opening the door, was also taken aback, not expecting Pei Yansi. But his good upbringing made him politely inquire first, “Mr. Pei?”
Pei Yansi, however, ignored him, his gaze cutting straight past to Shen Heyu in the living room.
Seeing her sitting on the sofa, cradling a cup of milk, appearing casual and comfortable, with none of the wariness or distance she showed in front of him.

A nameless emotion transformed from anger and claimed his chest. He strode forward, standing before Shen Heyu with eyes as cold as the endless winter night, “I was wondering why you wouldn’t answer dozens of calls, even blocked me. Turns out there’s another man here, you’re avoiding me.”
Shen Heyu frowned, this man’s words becoming more and more unreasonable. She said, “You can say whatever you want about me, Mr. Pei, but please refrain from speaking ill of Doctor Lu.”
Hearing her not mentioning the block, but instead immediately defending Lu Yi, Pei Yansi suddenly laughed, his expression softening, though its gentleness seemed inexplicably chilling.
His tone retained that same gentleness and calmness, but Shen Heyu still sensed danger within it.
“Defensive, are we?” His eyes twinkled with a frosty glint, his body language relaxed as he casually rolled up the sleeves on his wrist, revealing his wheat-colored, powerful forearms. He tilted his head and said, “Remember who your legal husband is? Look at the time. It’s two in the morning, and you’re at another man’s place. I’m dying to know how you have the nerve.”
As if he didn’t exist?
His icy gaze locked onto her relentlessly, not missing any slight change in her expression.
Shen Heyu, confronted with such pressing words, was not willing to swallow the indignity. She retorted, “You bring other women home, and I can’t even gather at a friend’s place? What, does Mr. Pei only allow officials to set fires and forbid the townsfolk from kindling lights?”
Pei Yansi looked down at her, his gaze growing colder. Facing those eyes, Shen Heyu always got the illusory feeling that in the next second he could kill her with just his stare.
His scrutiny made her heart grow uneasy, a conditioned response from years under his dominance. Just as she was about to duck away from his gaze, he suddenly scoffed. Perplexed, Shen Heyu looked at him and saw his tall frame shifting, circling the coffee table, and then reach out to yank her to her feet from the couch.
Caught off guard and glimpsing Lu Yi anxiously approaching, Shen Heyu instinctively wanted to cry out, but as she began to speak, Pei Yansi’s lips heavily descended upon hers.
His lips were soft, yet, just like him, they were cold and devoid of any emotion.
Shen Heyu’s eyes widened in disbelief—there was someone else here!
At this moment, he extended the tip of his tongue, lightly tracing the shape of her lips; the damp sensation spread, jolting Shen Heyu back to her senses as she began to struggle with her arms and legs.
Her panicked reaction, seen in Pei Yansi’s eyes, felt like she was worried about being misunderstood by Lu Yi in negotiation, darkening his expression further. Initially, he just wanted to kiss her lightly to assert his dominance, but that intent altered with her resistance.
