She Has Three Little Treasures: Fake Heiress, Yet Captures The Tycoon's Heart-Chapter 1032: Don’t Wrongfully Accuse Me!
Just as Susan Kensington was about to get up and argue with Vincent Hawthorne, his assistant rushed over hurriedly and said, "President Hawthorne, something has happened, it’s about you and your wife..."
The assistant didn’t finish his sentence, but his gaze towards Susan Kensington was very strange.
Susan saw this, and her heart sank with a bad feeling. Despite still being upset about the slap, she hastily asked, "What happened? What’s the matter with me and Vincent?"
Susan thought the assistant was referring to being forced by Raina North to kneel in front of Autumn Forrest’s memorial and confess her sins. If Raina spread such things, it could indeed ruin her reputation and make Vincent Hawthorne look bad.
Even though the world allows men to be fickle and unfaithful, it’s supposed to happen in private; if it were to become public knowledge, it would be disgraceful.
This reasoning is akin to that of Sebastian Chandler abandoning his wife and marrying a princess.
Throughout history, people abandoning their old wives for younger, prettier ones were common, but the only one to be condemned by all generations was Sebastian Chandler.
Susan cursed Raina North, who had stirred up these issues, a thousand times in her heart. But now, the most important thing was to remedy the situation.
Though it brought her shame and ruin, it could still be managed with some manipulation. At worst, she could build a reputation for recognizing and correcting her mistakes.
Susan imagined it well, but when she heard Vincent’s next words, she felt as if she was plunged into an icy dungeon.
Vincent shouted, "Who? Who exactly released Susan Kensington’s affair video!"
The assistant hung his head and was about to speak, but Susan couldn’t hold back. Her voice was sharp and loud, "What? What did you say about an affair? When did I have an affair?"
Vincent, upon hearing Susan’s words, flew into a rage, shouting sternly, "You still have the nerve to ask! Susan, you really have some nerve! I used to overlook your secret affairs with your lovers in private because of Felix’s sake, but you dared to bring your lover to The Hawthorne Group and sleep with him in broad daylight!"
Susan was nearly going crazy upon hearing this, "What nonsense are you talking about? When did I have a lover? When did I bring a lover to The Hawthorne Group? Vincent Hawthorne, you can’t accuse me unjustly!"
Though Susan retorted sharply, she was not entirely confident.
She had always been unsure due to her having ascended to her position improperly and lacking family background, no matter how proudly she held her head high daily.
To make Vincent feel insecure, she would always fabricate stories about rich fans obsessively pursuing her.
Her little tricks did indeed keep Vincent quite anxious and almost always granting her requests.
But now, the seeds she planted were bearing negative fruits. Susan couldn’t care less about anything else and hurriedly explained those matters once more.
She no longer cared how others viewed her; she grabbed Vincent’s sleeve, red-eyed and looked at him, "Vincent, you should know best how I’ve treated you all these years. I would never betray you, let alone bring a lover to The Hawthorne Group for an affair! That’s absolutely impossible! Vincent, don’t believe those rumors!"
"Rumors? I wish it was merely rumors! But I saw it with my own eyes!" Vincent’s forehead veins bulged, and he gritted his teeth, saying angrily, "In this very room, just moments ago, you were held by another man, almost ecstatic!"
