She Professed Herself The Pupil Of The Wiseman (WN)-Chapter 288: An Autumnal Air (1)

After witnessing the unexpected change from the passage of time, Mira’s group went to roughly the center of the pool.
The pool of Wild Buddy was five lanes wide, each around twenty five meters long. That was quite large, especially for an indoor pool, and the first three meters on one side were shallow, so even small breeds of dogs could reach the bottom, allowing all pets to enjoy their time there.
In the center where Mira was, it was deep enough that she could barely stand.
「Kyuiii!」
「Mhm mhm, I know, don’t worry. Let’s go there!」
Luna was still in the swim ring, doing her best to turn around, and Mira noticed what she was trying to do. There was a large waterslide on the pool as well, which one could ride together with a pet, and Luna seemed really interested in trying it out.
Halfway there, Mira had to pick up Luna and carry her up the stairs, while Mariana stayed below, waiting at the end of the slide.
Since it was an indoor pool, the slide was not the biggest, and it was not too slanted either, but it had plenty of turns to the right and to the left, making it a fun ride. The various pets also seemed to like it, as some dogs had already learned to go up the stairs on their own to use it.
One of them, Melody, a medium sized dog that was already well known there, happily went down the slide ahead of them, and then it was finally Mira and Luna’s turn.
「Are you ready?」
Mira sat on the top of the slide, with Luna on her lap, and Luna gave a courageous squeak in response.
「Alright, let’s go then!」
By pushing herself forward from the start, she began to gain a decent amount of speed, wanting to see how quickly she would reach the end. Luna also seemed to be entranced by that speed and the turns.
After ten seconds and a bit more, Mira finally reached the pool, with Luna still firmly held against her thighs.
「We really got some nice speed there!」
Mira had clearly felt the impact of the water, so she said that once she regained her balance. Shortly after, Luna also popped up on her swim ring, squeaking excitedly.
She had not measured or kept count of anything, so she was merely saying it out of intuition, but she was more than happy relying on that feeling, celebrating with Luna that they had set a new record, while Mariana watched with a warm smile.
They returned home from the pool in the early afternoon, and as they had been playing in the water for so long, they were understandably exhausted, which led to an extremely comfortable nap.
That included Mariana and Luna, who all joined Mira to doze off on their couch. Mira and Mariana rested their bodies against each other, Luna squeezed in between them, and then they rested their hands on top of Luna.
That moment under the warm afternoon sun, filled with bliss and happiness, was the kind of time one wished would last an eternity, even as their minds were transported into a dreamland.
Once they relaxed enough, the rest of the day went as usual. Mira went to conduct her research and experiments while Mariana did her usual housework chores and began preparations for dinner. Meanwhile, Luna, who had recently spent a lot of time playing on the sandpit, was instead on the couch shaking her legs, trying to practice how to swim.
「Ohh… We’re having burgers!」
When it was finally time for dinner and they all sat at the table, Mira’s face lit up with happiness. She had resigned herself to having a lot of salad for dinner, so seeing her favorite dish instead was a welcome surprise.
And so, after being successfully fooled by Mariana for a while, Mira’s day filled with happiness continued.
Mira’s peaceful days continued for a while longer. Eventually, she was also asked to Refine more Magic Sealing Stones, as she had been visiting the Magic Engineering workshops more often now that she was getting used to her life there, and Magic Sealing Stones were a great source of energy.
Mira had also started visiting the castle’s engineers to teach them Refining.
(Now that I think about it… Somehow, I feel like I’ve gotten busier than when I was flying around from city to city…)

Once she had completed her quota of Magic Sealing Stones, she went to teach Emilia, then played with the kids in the orphanage, and then finally could make her way back from Lunatic Lake to the tower. As she watched the scenery pass by outside the window of her wagon, carried by Garuda, she began to ponder about that. But she felt a stronger feeling of accomplishment rather than exhaustion, which brought a smile to her face.
「I guess this is what youth feels like…」
The sky was just starting to get dark, with the setting sun shining behind her as she mused about the beauty of it all.
Her busy but fulfilling days went on like a routine for a while longer, and she still relished that time. Each morning she would wake up and wonder with excitement where her research would take her that day. That went on until eventually she received word from Solomon that Meilin’s disguise was complete.
It was finally time for her next mission to start. Her tranquil days would come to a stop, and she would leave on a voyage again. At least she had gotten plenty of time to regain her energy, so she went to the castle in high spirits.
「Why…did it end up like this…」
Mira muttered in confusion within the maids’ quarters. She was there to pick up Meilin’s disguise, so she did not understand why she was the one being treated like a dress up doll now.
She had arrived at the castle a ten odd minutes prior, and headed up to the entrance of the maids’ quarters. The message she received stated that Meilin’s disguise was being kept there.
A part of her wished that they had placed it in Solomon’s office once it was completed, but she kept that complaint to herself.
She had also caught wind that the maids had completed the inner pants for her, so she knew that if Lily and the rest took hold of her, she would be forced to try them all out. That meant she needed to carry out her mission in complete stealth, so she put on her special forces equipment set, and carefully entered the maids’ quarters.
It was a perilous situation, but she could escape as soon as she found the disguise. Lily and Tabatha, the most dangerous pair, were currently busy at work, so Mira was sure that there was an opening she could take advantage of.
