SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 782 - 780: HELPING WITH PARENTS BUSINESS VENTURES
Chapter 782: Chapter 780: HELPING WITH PARENTS BUSINESS VENTURES
Pa Perry’s farm was as big about forty acres, nearly the same size as her first farm. Pa Perry didn’t just buy the land, but the farm came with the buildings (pig pens and chicken coops) which was a bonus.
There was also a dam at the farm but it wasn’t big. The dam nonetheless was dry which should have been a big problem if she didn’t have a water seed. Fortunately, the system sorted this problem for her beforehand, and all she had to do was plant the seed and the water problem would be solved.
"So, dear, how will you do it?" Pa Perry asked curiously as he looked at Diamond and then the dried dam.
Diamond flashed a mischievous smile at her father and without saying a word, she stretched her hand and a beautiful blue crystal appeared on it, amazing the two.
"Wow~ dear, what’s that?" with stars in her eyes, Ma Perry asked as she looked at the crystal in Diamond’s hand.
Diamond’s eyes squinted as she looked at her parents before responding, "Hehe, this is the water seed. As long as this crystal is in the dam, the dam will be like mine. It will never go dry," explaining more on the matter.
When the parents heard that, their eyes widened in amazement and looked at the water seed with worship. However, after a moment, worry appeared on Pa Perry as a certain thought flooded his mind.
"Dear .... This .... Um," he stuttered as he looked at Diamond who frowned as she looked at her father, wondering what he was thinking before he finished, "Won’t anyone steal it?" after hearing that, she felt relieved.
"Hehe," she couldn’t help but chuckle lightly as she patted her dad’s shoulder and responded, "Dad, once I put that inside, except for me, no one can trace that water seed. So, you don’t have to worry about anyone stealing or suspecting anything. Moreover, the seed can be taken back. So, in the future, if you get tired of farming, we can take it back and use it elsewhere."
When Pa Perry heard that, all the worry on his face vanished.
"Pew~ if it’s like that then I can be at ease now!"
For a moment there, he was indeed worried about a lot of things but with Diamond’s explanation, he was finally settled.
After Diamond answered her parent’s worries, she threw the water seed into the dam and the three of them stood there, waiting for the miracle to happen. And they didn’t have to wait for long before the surface started getting wet. freeweɓnøvel~com
Pa Perry watching all that, rubbed his eyes in excitement and started walking around, exclaiming now and then making Ma Perry roll her eyes at him.
"Your father, sometimes acts like a child, doesn’t he?" Ma Perry scolded her husband though in Diamond’s ears, all she could hear was the boastful tone.
She nudged her mother’s elbow and sulkily complained, "Mom, is it really right for you to show off to a single girl like me?" pouring her grievances to her.
Ma Perry turned her head to look at Diamond and scoffed as she rolled her eyes at Diamond.
"Who is stopping you from dating? In fact, why are you not making a move? Don’t you love those two friends of yours? What are you waiting for?"
Diamond choked when she heard that. She looked at her mother dumbfoundedly wondering how she knew that and why she was even encouraging her to make the first move.
Ma Perry as if sensing her mind, added, "Child, love waits for no man. If you feel that the person is right, then just go ahead and confess. If you get rejected then accept it. After all, getting rejected early is better than carrying a torch for years only to find out that the other person doesn’t love you at all!"
Ma Perry’s words sounded very harsh to the ear but Diamond knew that her words were indeed correct. Ever since she learnt of the twins’ true faces, she had turned cowardly. Under the pretense of wanting to know and understand them better, she had never made her feelings known.
"What are you afraid of?" Ma Perry asked curiously, nudging Diamond who was lost in thoughts.
Diamond sighed as she looked at her mother, sorrow in her eyes and answered her, "I don’t want to lose them. I am afraid that if I confess, then I might lose them forever."
Ma Perry sighed as she looked at her husband who was circling the dam while checking the water that was slowly sipping in and said, "Dear, I am not forcing you to make a move now but I still advise you to know what is what before you get emotionally too involved. Anyway, before looking at the men that you aren’t sure of yet, how about Grace’s son? How is the progress?" before changing the topic.
Diamond was downcast when she heard the first part but when Auntie Grace and Gael were mentioned, a smile couldn’t help but bloom on her face. And Ma Perry saw all that. A smile appeared on Ma Perry’s face as well.
Although Diamond hadn’t said a word, Ma Perry had a good feeling that things might be turning out for the best. Which was good for her daughter. After all, not only does Grace know and understand that Diamond would never have Gael alone in her life but she would have more men. Grace and Gael were very fine with that.
What more could they ask for?
She just hoped that her daughter would be surrounded by people who love her despite her quirks.
Diamond turned to look at her mother with stars in her eyes and hooked her arm with Ma Perry’s.
"Hehe, he is coming next month. We will be seeing each other," Diamond shyly told her mother.
Ma Perry’s eyes brightened up when she heard that, she asked excitedly, in an urging tone, "So, which stage are you? Do you like him? Have any of you confessed yet?"
Diamond chuckled shyly when she heard that but still answered her mother truthfully. "None of us have confessed yet but I can feel that he likes me."
"What about you? Do you like him as well?"
Diamond shyly nodded her head answering her mother, "I like him. He had made me feel special in many ways I could never imagine. He gave me his time; took notice of the smaller details and he is always there. How can I not like him?"
Although Gael had never spent a lot of money on her, he had given her so much more than her ex-lovers had given her and that was considered to be a lot.
Talking about him, she couldn’t help but share a bit of what he does and the more Ma Perry heard, the more she liked Gael.
"Dee, this one is good and I believe much better than those two. Since you like him, then take this chance when he comes and become a couple. It would be a loss if you can’t have him. Moreover, he already knows what you want and still continues to flirt with you. So, don’t lose this chance!" Ma Perry seriously advised.
Diamond hugged her mother, a smile on her face as she responded, "Don’t worry Mother. I will not let such a chance go!" her tone laced with seriousness as well as teasing.
The mother and daughter pair chatted more on the topic as they waited for Pa Perry to finish what he was doing. Which took much longer than both of them expected. Nonetheless, by the time they left the farm, the dam’s surface had water already and Diamond believed that the dam would be full in a week or so at the rate it was going.
On the way back home, Diamond’s smile never left her face as she listened to Pa Perry’s grand plan about the farm.
"With water available, I will start hiring workers as well as renovating places that need retouching. After seeing how your farm was being run, I plan to divide the farm into several sections."
"Which ones?"
"I will have one for planting the three sister crops (corn, beans and squash), vegetables and that area for rearing livestock."
The three sister crops were crops which were not just fulfilling when eaten but benefited greatly from each other’s presence.
Corn provides a vertical structure for the beans to climb and support the whole system while beans fix nitrogen from the atmosphere enriching the soil moisture and providing a food source for other crops.
Lastly, squash acts as ground cover, suppressing weeds, retaining soil moisture, and shading the soil which helps prevent weed growth and keeps the soil cool.
That was something that Cain being a good and dedicated farmer started implementing after researching online and the method had been working perfectly.
Pa Perry saw that, and he was amazed by the method and now he wanted to implement it as well which wasn’t bad. After all, as long as we get what we want, who cares about the process?
Pa Perry also planned to add an irrigation system, and a water tank which would supply water. Not just for irrigating but drinking purposes as well. he had everything well planned, and he seemed to be doing much better compared to Diamond when she started.
Diamond was very happy seeing how her father was eager to work and be out there. Her parents were now both doing what they were doing for themselves and not for their children. Seeing that, Diamond’s smile never left her face. The reason why she was making money was so that her family could live peacefully without any worries.
She loved how it was going so far.
When they got home, Ma Perry went to cook and Diamond joined her.
While they cooked, Diamond listened to Ma Perry’s plans for the restaurant and even added her own points there. After all, when it comes to ingredients and recipes, Diamond didn’t lack any.
