SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS-Chapter 786 - 784: A HEART-TO-HEART TALK WITH SEAN 2
Chapter 786: Chapter 784: A HEART-TO-HEART TALK WITH SEAN 2
"He should be kind, generous, be tight-lipped, be good to my family members and treat me well. His family must never treat me as if I owed them. They should treat me the same way they treat their own daughters.
After all, I can’t suffer just because I am a daughter-in-law. Before I met their son, I was and still am my parents’ precious daughter. If he can’t make that happen, then I would rather remain single or recruit a son-in-law like what my sister plans to do!"
Diamond had drilled Ruby that she cherishes her life and loves herself so much. Why should she suffer because of a man?
She might cry because things didn’t go well for her, but to be abused and tolerate that. She wouldn’t allow that.
Sean was dumbfounded when he heard that. He wasn’t expecting her to say something so profound and sensitive.
There was something about families like theirs that was different from Ruby’s family. It was something that Ruby perhaps would never understand, but he didn’t plan to share that with her. After all, that might make her not give him a chance at all.
Growing up as part of the six big families. It’s not as easy as it sounds or looks. Others only see how rich and good life is for them. But do they know what truly happens inside the huge mansions where they live?
Sean wanted to cry and lament when he heard the last part. His mother was truly a scary woman. It wasn’t her fault, after all, she was raised that way by her grandmother, who was tough as nails.
If Ruby was to meet with his mother, he could already foresee a drama folding. He couldn’t let his mother know that he was interested in Ruby lest she find her and then things don’t go the way his mother expects.
He couldn’t remain silent while she talked, so once she said the last part, he spoke, throwing question, "what if the guy doesn’t have all the qualities that you have mentioned?" feeling a bit nervous.
Ruby chuckled as she put the glass of water on the table before answering, "We are not perfect. I don’t expect him to have all these, but at least he should possess the major ones. And oh, he isn’t allowed to cheat.
I am not the kind of girl who will take back a cheating man just because he is sorry. If he wants me, then he should dedicate himself to me and no other women. I don’t have such a thing as a female best friend.
Whilst that might look simple to you guys, as girls we know our colleagues pretty well. There are always secret wars whenever we meet and yet you get fooled because you have been with them for a long time.
What they show around you is different entirely from what they show whenever they are with their best friends’ girlfriends. Some of these girls love you guys so much but don’t dare confess. So, if my boyfriend has such a best friend, I would rather pass. I am too temperamental to be that tolerant!"
Ruby shuddered at the thought of such a thing happening. This was a common problem in relationships. These female best friends were so good at being green teas, that it was hard to defeat them.
They would rather damage their male best friends’ relationships than allow him to settle with one.
Sean’s eyes widened when he heard that.
"There is something like that?" he couldn’t believe his ears.
Ruby, upon seeing that, couldn’t help but shake her head in wonder. Where was this guy living?
In the end, she gave him several life examples, which got his head spinning.
"Such things happen? I didn’t know!"
"That’s why you need to be closer to your sisters. You can learn a lot of tricks from them. They will help you differentiate between good and bad!" Ruby teasingly said as she looked at him.
Sean chuckled faintly when he heard that and nodded while answering, "I guess that’s true. I need to learn more."
"You will. So, what about you? What kind of girl do you like?" she curiously asked, interested in knowing his tastes.
After all, a person can’t just say that he likes a person because the other part is good-looking. People don’t eat appearances. The character of the person mattered a lot.
Sean was at a loss when he heard that.
’Why is she suddenly asking that question?’ that flashed in his mind when he heard her question.
Still, he had to answer otherwise, she might look down on him and that would be truly bad.
After a moment of thought, he started answering and once he did, the answers simply flowed on their own.
"Um ... she should look very good. Knows how to take care of herself. Know what she wants and doesn’t get influenced easily by others. There are women out there who are like puppets, following others’ commands. I hope that she won’t be like that," Sean said and rested for a moment as he sipped his water before continuing, "She should love herself, respect herself and not let others take her for granted. She should be loyal and honest. I would rather have her tell me what she doesn’t like about me than for her to hide it from me and make me a fool. It might hurt but at least working together to solve the problem will promote and improve the relationship."
Sean shared his ideals, and it was Ruby’s turn to listen attentively. The more she listened the more she found that Sean wasn’t that hard to be with. Unfortunately, her heart was still at the moment.
"What do you think about polygamous or polyamory?" Ruby asked unexpectedly, after recalling her sister.
Sean was stunned by that question. He couldn’t help but fear that Ruby had some quirks that he couldn’t accept. But before he was certain about anything, he couldn’t assume anything.
"I don’t have much opinion on the issue. I believe that everyone is entitled to do whatever they want as long as it works well for them." Regardless of his fear, he nonetheless spoke his heart.
After all, there should be a reason why a man would want to marry many wives and for a woman to be with many men, right?
Ruby smiled as she was satisfied with that answer. She couldn’t help but ask further, "If you were to meet with a woman who is polyamorous, how would you react? As in just seeing her and not dating her!" she clarified as she looked eagerly at him.
Sean nearly choked when he heard the first part but when she clarified, he heaved with relief. What was Ruby teasing him like that?
His heart was very fragile and couldn’t take such teasing.
"Um .... I probably would ask what made her choose that lifestyle. After all, if it’s a woman that must have taken a lot of courage. I would like to hear her side of the story," Sean truthfully answered.
He had heard and seen women with lovers behind their husbands’ backs but for a woman to say that she was into the lifestyle itself and having men who could actually agree to that, now that was something worth to be looked into.
Ruby was even more satisfied with the answer but to avoid any suspicion, she didn’t dare continue with the topic but changed it completely.
As a result, the two of them chatted as they enjoyed their meal and after the meal, Sean paid the bill before leaving the restaurant together.
"Do you want to walk around and take a look?" he asked as soon as they were out.
Ruby looked around the busy mall and found herself nodding. It’s been ages since she did some shopping. Moreover, when shopping with a guy, her wallet would be safe. She couldn’t help but be greedy.
With her agreement, Sean was happy as that gave him more time to spend with Ruby. As for confessing his feelings, he decided to put that aside. After all, with everything that he has heard from her, he would be tempting fate if he boldly made a move.
Moreover, she was still recovering from Waylon’s matter.
When he gets together with her, he wanted her to be with him because her heart finds it suitable. He didn’t want to be anyone’s healer. To be used and then discarded.
So, he decided to brush up on some points.
After their earlier conversation, he could feel that they had gotten much closer which was a great improvement.
The two of them had a lot of fun, and Sean wasn’t stingy. He bought a lot of snacks and other things for Ruby without any fuss.
Ruby was very satisfied with Sean’s actions.
At least without her opening her mouth, he knew how to treat her and he tended to know what she liked which showed that he was very considerate and was always looking at her.
Her heart couldn’t help but waver being treated like that.
Fortunately, they didn’t spend that much time together as after shopping for an hour or so, Sean sent her to the parking building where they bid each other goodbye before Ruby left for her apartment.
It was later after all. How could she continue being with a man so late at night?
Won’t she be inviting trouble by doing so?
She didn’t dare provoke others.
