Chapter 129: Empress

The beautiful scenery that captivated me, the same magical forest that was so wonderful, and I walked the place like I owned it, I in fact did, I was the guardian of the Spirit Forest, my very own Realm.

My silver hair straight fell to her waist, some packed in a golden pin, golden armlet on both my arms, shaped in a butterfly. The same with the ankle chains too, my light pink dress barely covered my smooth milky skin, like a silk line fabric against my body, swirling around me with other layers.

I sauntered the path of the forest, a smile against my lips, the skies a bright blue color and colorful birds graced it, the butterflies clustered around me like I was their light.

"Lady Yelena" a tiny voice echoed. I turned to see a rabbit, a lion, and a small fox. The rabbit was snow white, the same as the Lion, the most beautiful they were and the fox had red fur.

"What is it, little ones?" I asked in amusement and in a familiar tone, I knew these wondrous creatures, it was a gut feeling. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Um" the rabbit began trembling before hopping to me, I held it in a warm embrace.

"gods you’re shivering like a cat"

"Ahem!" a brown cat against the tree cleared its throat, his tail swinging back and forth.

I giggled. "Sorry"

"Meow" he just made his animal sound before climbing further on the tree.

"He’s always grumpy," The lion said, sighing.

"Tell me Puma, what’s making Ava here scared?" I asked the lion. I did know their names, I KNEW them.

"Well..." he began a bit hesitantly.

"Ugh... if you guys are not gonna tell the lady I’m gonna speak" the fox said, stepping forward, lowering his butt to sit.

"No Gideon!" Ava panicked.

These three have never been hesitant to tell me anything, this was new and Gideon seemed to want to keep his mouth shut now.

"I will tell mother three of you are misbehaving again... back to the Mortal Realm to live as real animals will teach you," I said smirking, although I was just joking, I knew I was. I loved these three too much to do such and besides I was the one in charge of their well being, nothing happens to them unless I say so, but this trick always seems to work. Because I could see the panic in their eyes, The lion’s crystal blue orbs shocked, surprising even for a beast one of himself, and the fox golden orbs looked sideways nervous.

"There’s an intruder in the Forest!" Ava announced drawing her ears to cover her eyes.

"AVA!"

"WHAT?" I shouted, the small crescent moon tattoo engraved on my forehead beaming bright gold at my outburst. That was impossible, there was no possible way anyone could break through the barrier I spent 100 years cultivating.

"Over there where the birds are gathered" she pointed her paws, her pink eyes in fear. My confused gaze followed, the birds were clustering in a particular area, I could see them with my fox eyes, but I couldn’t see properly like something was blocking me.

"I think its a monster"

I gasped, flashing my eyes open, my grip tightened on the sheets, what was that? A dream? A memory... it felt so real that it couldn’t be a dream, was that perhaps... my memory?

I sat up, meeting with Olivia and the maids.

"Good morning Empress," she said with a smile against her lips. "Time to get ready"

This was it, today was the day and I couldn’t be more nervous, my mind still lingered on the dream I had, it was a half-dream, but it was too good to be real, it may be my memory I had, maybe my past life was finally catching up to me, I smiled. I would finally know how I met my soulmate, I couldn’t wait to tell Nicklaus about it.

But before that... I sighed. Be strong, be strong I chanted, giving myself words of courage that could really help me right now, I closed my eyes for a brief second before opening them, I smiled giving a nod.

After a warm bath, Olivia helped me get dressed, my royal attire, was a red inner sleeveless empire waist gown with a kimono belt, embodied with golden design, I then wore a Kimono jacket on top to the matching, golden dangling earring that graced my ears, and a gold necklace. My silver hair was packed up in a bun, a top knot pin made of gold at the top, signifying my reign, but my parted bangs still fell on my forehead of course.

A light makeup, done wonderfully by Olivia herself, she took so much care in getting me ready, and just like that, I got a glimpse of when I was in the Mortal Realm and she got me ready, it made me smile.

Finally done, I stood before the wide mirror not recognizing myself anymore, I was transformed, I looked like an... Empress.

"You look beautiful Empress" Olivia commented, breathlessly, she looked at me like I was a goddess and I pretty much seemed like it right now.

"Thank you, Olivia," I said with a sweet smile.

With a knock at the door, we both turned.

"It’s time"

I nodded as my chest rose and fell, I have to be brave for this and just be myself like Nicklaus said. The doors barged open and then I saw Mint.

"Mint," I said elatedly, it has been a while since I saw him, he smiled warmly at him, one that I missed, I was glad he was able to smile again.

"Empress," he said with a bow.

"Shall we?" he gave way so that I would walk to the front, I did, about 10 guards lined up, five at both sides, and was that a roofless carriage?

"Is that really necessary?"

"The walk to the throne room is a long one," he said but he knew that wasn’t enough to convince me.

"The Emperor’s orders"

I sighed in defeat. I carefully climbed onto it, the four strong guards lifted it up and we began our walk to the throne room.

My hands gripped my knees, I was extremely nervous, I was about to have a nervous breakdown. I tried to calm my breath, I haven’t even got to the throne room yet and my palms were all sweaty, my body tensed, I tried to focus on the way ahead but I just couldn’t.

"Calm down mistress, it will all be alright" Mint whispered to me, I suddenly felt eased.

"Do you think there are many people there?" I asked, I sure hope there wasn’t a crowd or I might faint.

"I haven’t been to the throne room before so I don’t know"

I sighed heavily, that could not end well, I was not really good with crowds to begin with, a crowd FULL of vampires wasn’t something I was ready for, maybe I should have just agreed with Nicklaus to postpone this, I sighed once again.

"You look beautiful... like a goddess, as you should be" Mint commented.

"Yes... but it would take one to act like it" I said shaken.

Mint sighed, surely my tense nervousness was really becoming prominent.

"You were once a goddess in your past life... once a goddess always a goddess"

I smiled at his charming words, I took a deep breath but this time like an action to free myself and calm down. I can do this, I said closing my eyes, I didn’t care how long, as long as my tense nerves were able to settle.

"We have arrived Empress"

I opened my eyes, meeting a door, I counted the time it was hours before we got here. Just how big was this palace? I see the reason why I made use of a carriage.

I came down, Olivia helped me adjust my royal attire. Five guards stationed on either side of me, I stood upright hiding my hands in either side of my kimono jacket just how Celeste explained I should.

And then the enormous golden door spread open and revealed a crowd I have never been in, all lined up at both sides, my heartbeat quickened as I stilled where I was, my eyes wide, they had all eyes on me, staring at me with such intensity that I couldn’t move. What should I do? Running will only embarrass me, I looked nervously, taking harsh breaths, my eyes trailing the crowd awaiting me to take a step forward and then it trailed to the long line of space dressed with a red carpet that I would have to walk on and then my brown orbs meet with Nicklaus standing at the front.

The moment he gave me a smile, I knew I could do anything then, I knew I could face even the worst crowd of them all, I knew I could take that step and become his Empress.

I was already stepping forward before I knew it, my eyes ahead on the love of my life.
