Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon-Chapter 798 - 795: Entering The Kingdom of Miracles (5)
Chapter 798: 795: Entering The Kingdom of Miracles (5)
Corey’s eyes flashed as he observed what was going on at the gates of Serithal.
He saw the men and women in the carriage giving their identity cards to the guards, who then placed it on top of a palm-sized, translucent crystal slab that was hexagonal in shape.
He could see a very faint outline of flowing rune lines that shifted and rearranged themselves whenever a different card was placed on it.
Although he could not see more because of the distance and because he chose not to increase the output of his Eyes of Omniscience, he believed that he had seen enough for now.
His main interest was in the device that could detect non-humans.
Without hesitation, he increased the output of his Eyes of Omniscience and observed the detection device.
At first glance, it looked like the entrance to Serithal was nothing more than a towering archway of white stone and gold trimmed crystal with dozens of eye-sized lenses- some circular, some hexagonal, that were embedded along its inner frame.
However, Corey could perceive as clear as day the runes that were hidden in the lenses and also the archway itself.
As he observed it through his Eyes of Omniscience, he noticed how hundreds of runes shifted like living organisms inside the framework of the device the moment the carriage passed through the gates.
As the carriage passed through the archway, the lens gave out a green light, causing Corey to notice the guards becoming less tense the moment they saw this.
’Interesting.’
Corey’s eyes turned with genuine interest as he continued his observation of the entire archway itself.
’The entire archway... The entire entrance is a detector.’
’It can differentiate not only between humans and non-humans, but it can also sense spiritual beings.’
’Which means if anybody is being possessed or has a spirit in them, the detector would pick it up.’
’It scans not only the physical structure but the spirit of individuals... However... would it be efficient on Mystic Beings?’
’I can sense Mystic Force and Mystic Mana in it, but it’s too little for it to affect any being that’s higher than Tier 4.’
’Wait... There’s something deeper... What is it?’
Corey squinted his eyes the more, and his eyes brightened. For a moment, his illusion over his eyes wavered before returning back to normal.
What he did not know was that his expression had caught the attention of Jin, Chloe, and Ava.
When they noticed his deep frown, Ava wanted to ask what was wrong, but then a fraction of his aura began to get spilled out, causing Chloe, Ava, and Jin to experience a chill across their spines.
Fortunately, their senses were too weak to pinpoint the source of the pressure they were feeling, and they thought that a monster was about to attack them.
Despite majority of his attention being on the detector of Serithal, part of his attention was still on his surroundings.
He noticed their reactions, but he did not give a single fuck.
He continued peering deeper and deeper into the intricacy and internal system of the detector.
’I see... The device can also detect energies... It doesn’t only detect one’s race, it detects the energy one has.’
’It can scan if one has astral mana or mystic mana, and it can even scan for demonic energy- Infernus?’
’No...’
’What it does is to sense only astral mana... Once it doesn’t sense only astral mana but another energy, it sends out a signal to somewhere hidden in Serithal.’
’This function is more hidden, and if not for my Eyes of Omniscience and increased understanding of runes, formations, arrays, and even artifact creations... I wouldn’t have noticed this.’
’Hmm... It can also automatically disrupt low to mid-tier illusions.’
’I wonder... How did Jeremy Draker obtain a device... an artifact like this?’
’This was not given by the Universal System but was created by an artisan... I doubt a New Earthling has this sort of skill...’
Corey paused as he had this thought because he suddenly recalled that New Earth was a Blessed World, and it was because of this that somebody as talented as him was born.
’I can’t ignore the possibility of somebody wishing to be the best artisan in the world... Anything is possible in New Earth.’
’This also means that I have to be careful with whoever I fight... In the Underworld, I rarely saw people with talents and people who made wishes because they were not from New Earth.’
’But in this place, I should be ready to encounter people who have made absurd wishes and people who could threaten me despite being low tiered.’
’For example... Pamela... And maybe Jeremy Draker and the people that were beside him back then.’
Corey furrowed his brows as he recalled the three individuals that stood beside Jeremy Draker on the island of the Black Sea.
’Hmm... Should I say I’m a little bit excited in meeting other talented individuals?’
A light smile appeared on his lips, and they he deactivated his Eyes of Omniscience, and closed his eyes, baffling Jin, Chloe, and Ava at the same time.
Minutes went by, and approximately an hour later, the carriage arrived at the gates of Serithal.
Corey took his time to appreciate the beauty of the walls of the capital and also the golden gates for a few seconds.
Although most New Earthlings would be awed in the face of the gates and wall of the capital, Corey was not because he had seen better in the Underworld.
The walls and gates of the Central Area of the City of Sin was much grander and more beautiful than the gates of Serithal.
"Oh."
Jin exclaimed with wide eyes as they stopped in front of the gates, and then he looked at Corey.
"I completely forgot to ask, but do you have an ID card? If you don’t, we can talk to the guards for you so that they won’t question you too much. They know us after all."
Corey looked at him and smiled lightly, "Yeah, I do. Don’t worry."
