I gasped sharply as I collapsed onto my knees, my vision blurring and darkening as I struggled to catch my breath, my entire body wracked with pain.

C-Come on, damn it, just...just a little longer, I-I can’t run out of steam here, n-not yet-...!

I shakily lifted my gaze and strained myself to muster up some strength, but to no avail, I was completely-...

Suddenly, a powerful blast of sound struck Sky as she began to charge in towards me, blowing her away before she could reach me.

That was...

"I’ll buy you some time, catch your breath and recover a bit of strength. I’ll keep her occupied, and try to give you an opening...the moment you see an opening, find the strength you need to unleash one last blow and finish her off," Remarked Beatriz, as she cracked her neck.

"Y-You can’t...you can’t fight her by yourself. She isn’t pulling her punches anymore, she’s going for the kill with every attack...you’ll die," I responded, shakily trying to get back up before collapsing onto my knees.

"Yeah, well, we don’t have much of a choice, and there’s no time to argue. And if I do die...you better make damn sure to kill her. If I end up sacrificing myself in vain...I’ll kill you," She smirked, before stepping forward with a determined look on her face...

Point-of-View: Sky

This is my chance, now-...!

As I began to rush in to finish him off, a high-pitched, ringing blast of sound slammed into me, sending me hurtling across to my right, skidding across the ground.

As I came to a sliding halt across the dirt, I got back up onto my feet with a grimace, my ears ringing and my head spinning as I stumbled slightly, before quickly unleashing a sharp burst of wind as several blasts of sound came shooting towards me.

"Come on...did you forget that you’re fighting more than one person?"

"You again...you ought to have stayed down. I may be worn out, but I am still much, much stronger than you are," I responded, before swiftly racing away she opened her mouth and fired out a devastating sonic screech, evading it before unleashing a roaring blast of flames towards her.

She launched herself up and over it with a burst of sound below herself, before firing out another sonic screech towards me.

I zipped up with a powerful flap of my wings, evading the ringing wave of sound and firing out a rapid bolt of lightning towards her.

She sprinted across to evade it, unleashing a barrage of sound blasts towards me. I swerved across the air to evade them, avoiding all of her attacks.

As she fired a wide, intense wave of sound towards me from her mouth, I triggered a devastating blast of wind, drowning out her sound and nullifying it. I began charging up an intense, crackling mass of lightning, taking aim at her and firing it with immense force.

She narrowly blocked it with her broken blade, before racing forward and launching herself towards me with a powerful burst of sound.

I veered across as she slashed at my neck with her blade, evading her attack before spinning around and swooping down towards her as she landed behind me.

She sprang back as her broken blade vibrated intensely, the cracks across it deepening, before I drove my talons forward as she swung her blade towards my head.

Her blade shattered to pieces as my talons collided against one of the cracks, a sharp burst of sound erupting upon impact and disorienting me slightly. But I had already braced myself for it, managing to maintain my bearings before driving my left arm forward with a sharp twist.

An agonized gasp of pain rang out as my talons pierced through the middle of her chest and burst out her back, fatally wounding her. I felt it, my talons sliced across her heart, she is as good as dead now...

"It is over for you, human. I have no reason or desire to prolong your suffering, so I shall put you out of your misery quick-...," I began as I drew back my right arm, my talons poised to pierce her brain.

"O-Oh, I’m not dying without a parting gift...take this!" She roared gutterally, before a devastating sonic screech erupted out of her mouth and engulfed my head, eliciting a sharp, agonized gasp from me.

Her cheeks ripped open as several of her teeth got blasted out of her mouth, blood gushing out of my ears as the devastating attack overwhelmed me excruciatingly.

I shakily dug my claws into my side and gouged out a chunk of my flesh to regain my focus and whipped my arm across, her body sliding off it as I flung her away, her dying screech petering out and fading as she skidded across the dirt.

I let out a gasp as my head throbbed agonizingly, the pain starting to fade as I focused on my regeneration. Suddenly, I felt my blood run cold, my instincts screaming at me as I felt an immense bloodlust, barreling towards me...

I lifted my gaze to see the male human blasting himself towards me with a furious look on his face, immense, concentrated energy of his Magic swirling around his right arm.

I strained my body to move with everything I had left, shuffling across to my left as he closed in on me. But it was no use. In the next instant, an immense wave of excruciating pain erupted across the right half of my body, as he ripped me apart as he shot past me.

I shakily turned my gaze down, my right arm, and most of the right side of my torso gone, blood gushing out and splattering across the ground, my right leg hanging on by a thread.

But most of all...my Core. He had grazed it, nothing more than a graze, and yet... 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

As a shard of my Core snapped off and hit the ground, cracks spread out from that spot, rapidly deepening...it was only a graze, and yet, it generated enough force and power to fatally damage my Core.

It will not be long before I am dead, I have perhaps half a minute at most, before my Core completely falls apart and I die. Before that happens, I...I must...fulfill my duty...after all, I...I have nothing left to lose...
